    A bit of white wine splashed over my keyboard and I turned it over really quick to avoid anything getting through but it did.
    Very impressed with you and your video. I don't really trust people to know what they are doing to really service anything.
    It's all B.S. for the money and not helping, mostly. You are not one of THEM You are one of the GOOD guys.
    I only had it only weeks before this happened and it won't turn on and no charger indicator either. I hoped it would just dry out and not die.
    Obviously, I can't go a day without a computer and ran out to buy another one. (No warranty after an accident?)
    I figured okay, what matters most is my data and planned on removing the drive and casting the rest.
    I was going to order a housing for it. The box says SSD. It is model 15-db0088ca
    I see you would purchase it for parts. Hmm ... interesting... Maybe there is still hope for it.
    In your video here I see the ssd is not what I thought it was but separate from the SATA drive. What's kept on the SSD card?
    Why can these things get killed off so easily? A nefarious plot? Programmed self destruction?
    What do you feel might need to be replaced?

    • @Sellbrokedotcom
      @Sellbrokedotcom  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It looks like yours did not come with an SSD: www8.hp.com/ca/en/laptops/product-details/product-specifications/27940145
      If you need to recover your data from the hard drive, buy this: www.ebay.com/itm/SATA-to-USB-3-0-HD-SSD-Hard-Drive-Adapter-Converter-Cable-US-Plug-Wall-Charger/133443458668?hash=item1f11d9966c:g:ylYAAOSw7qFe7QfK or something similar. This will allow you to remove the bare hard drive and connect it to your new laptop as an external drive so you can get all your data from it. From your description it sounds like you killed the motherboard, which sits under the keyboard. At this point I would recommend a more recent laptop with an SSD, you can load your old data into it and you will be happy with the huge speed increase. The SSD is like a hard drive with no moving parts so it is usually orders of magnitude faster than a spinning hard drive. Most modern laptops have them and they store everything from the operating system to cat videos.

    I reset this laptop and it was working fine, albeit a little slow. I installed windows 11 on it and it wouldn’t restart, showing problems with the C drive that it couldn’t fix. I ran it through Eurosoft PC Check and it showed that the motherboard and CPU had failed and that there was no hard drive present. I’ve taken the hard drive out and hooked it up to another pc and it’s working fine. Very odd.

      Of course! Check out 4:25, once the bottom case is removed the 2.5" SATA hard drive is on the bottom left.... just a couple screws and it will slide out of the SATA connector. Then a few more screws to release the hard drive from the metal bracket. If you meant your SSD is bad, check out the bottom right, just one screw and it pulls out (yours is a SATA M.2 2280 SSD I believe).

    Hi, this pc don't have cmos cr2032 battery, right? I have a similar model (without optical drive) and the replaced hp original battery does not charge, even if in the diagnostic tool everything is ok and charging!
    If the battery is 100% charged with bench power supply, the powered PC does not drop it below 100%, but if you disconnect the power supply and the battery discharges a little, it does not recharge, even if you are connected to the mains, via the power supply! If the charge drops completely, your PC will shut down, even if you have a power supply connected! It's driving me crazy! Have you ever had a similar problem with the original HT03XL battery?

    Hello! I'm hearing some creaking coming from where the hard drive is. Is this a normal sound for this type of hard drive?

    • @Sellbrokedotcom
      @Sellbrokedotcom  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hard drives make a quiet ticking sound like rice being poured unevenly onto cardboard. An actual creaking like stepping on an old wood floor would be concerning.

    Am I missing it or does this not have a traditional cmos battery?

    • @Sellbrokedotcom
      @Sellbrokedotcom  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct, the CMOS battery for the BIOS is stored in the chipset.

    • @gothicsoldier
      @gothicsoldier 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Sellbrokedotcom I see - so with one that has clear cmos energy issues, the only real option for fixing then is replacing the chipset as a whole?

    • @Sellbrokedotcom
      @Sellbrokedotcom  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gothicsoldier Possibly.... there are chipset driver updates for a lot of BIOS's. You could try that first and see if it helps your issue. Some also have procedures for BIOS reset, you would have to Google your particular motherboard model.

    You forgot to show us where the CMOS battery is. Don't bother, there isn't one in this model !! I have looked and looked and nothing and nowhere in the specs does it say this model does not have a CMOS battery. ALL laptops should have a CMOS battery to power the internal clock. Even through your entire video while you disassembled this, I did not see the CMOS button battery anywhere. And of course, my laptop is giving the CMOS error on boot up which normally would be easily fixed with a cheap, $1.00 CMOS battery. Thanks for listening to my ramblings. If you know where this battery location is, kindly reply.

    We liked this video and subscribed, we have the same laptop, the problem that we are facing is that the laptop is switching off suddenly on its own as it is heating up, and when ever the power chord is plugged to the mains, the laptop is switching off immediately without even waiting for heating up. Can you please suggest what may be the problem in there..?

    • @Sellbrokedotcom
      @Sellbrokedotcom  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would first try a different power adapter, sometimes when they go bad voltage can increase too much. You could also just test yours if you have a multimeter. The only other thing that comes to mind is a bad motherboard, when the power adapter is plugged in the voltage going to the motherboard is naturally higher and any heating or open circuit problem on the motherboard will happen faster.

    • @Sellbrokedotcom

      I do not see one on the motherboard, this model may have the CMOS stored in the chipset. When something goes bad after a repair, its good to go back over everything you did to make sure there isnt a loose cable or something else you may have disturbed during the repair. Good luck!

      @@SellbrokedotcomThank you for answering but i went over more than a couple of time I still have the dead screen. I have a 5 white long light followed by 4 short white one. So it's look like a problem with the bios (initialization) according to the HP support site. can you give me a trick to reset or change the bios settings ? The Cmos battery and the Procesor are all integrated?

    Hi thank you so much for the disassembly video. I wanted your opinion about something. I added more ram 2 days ago, since then some keys like Tab, q, ~, 1 have stopped functioning. I noticed it while playing valorant. The keys begin to work randomly at some times and will stop working randomly as well. I further noticed the keys work well when outside the game, e.g., any text editor. Can you please share your opinion on what could be the possible reason? I've removed the added ram but still it isn't working. Any thoughts or ideas will help. Thank you once again.
