Not every state has such large open barren land. We can’t destroy forests or farmland to build such projects in every state. North eastern states can’t even have land for humans without destroying environment.
They should dig some small ponds in the low laying areas and dig channels so that the small rainwater can accumulate and percolate in the soil. After that they can use drip water techniques to plant shrubs which will decrease the dust issue and heal the soil and biodiversity

Great visionary project. One suggestion. They can also plant trees/shrubs suitable in desert conditions that prevent more dust from blowing in the vicinity on an experimental basis. It will help environment as well and prevent expansion of the arid desert.

VEGETATION in between panels can reduce the loose sand. There are vegetables that can be used with minimum water and can be cultivated. I am sure our Engineers will come out of some better solution.
That whole land is very salty. Very long time ago that area was a seabed. Saurashtra region was an island with parts of kutch and districts of gujarat like surendranagar submerged in the ocean. Gulf of kutch was connected to gulf of khambet with ocean water over the current land area. Even now there are many areas of marshland and salt farms where ocean water covers the shallow land. If you look at the map you would find many water bodies between the indian and pakistan border near kutch gujarat.
Great work but we have to set bigger goals, the khavda solar park will only generate 20gw of renewable energy but china will have about 1000 gw of renewable energy by 2026 and by 2030 they are planning for more than 3 tw..! Can u imagine terrawatts not gigawats or megawatts. We should be doing this as we r the leader in solar sector and of the international solar alliance. But we struggling with just few gw of energy. Although i highly appreciate the largest single location solar park but we have to outperform china in solar technology. I hope we also have more than 1tw of renewable energy by 2030.
As optimistic person, I believe, we can do much more better in renewable sector. It has been just started. And then exponentially we will perform in this sector in next 5 years
