    Finally a worthy review of this set. Every other reviewer that I've seen mentioned the fish but nobody pointed out that it's a structural element.
    Good thing we can always count on Balázs to point details like that out!

    I won't be spending this kind of money for Lego any time soon, but even if price was not an issue, I have no reasonable place to display the set! It does look really good, though, and there's a lot of neat building techniques which interest me. Good review, as always!

    thanks for the fantastic racingbrick review of lego 21335 and the lighthouse is beautiful in the fog and with the lights that lego offers us for what it costs us

    I thoroughly enjoyed building this set and it looks great. Yes, the power of the light was a little disappointing. Agreed, the price is a little high (even here in the UK) but I think some of this is also down to the lens; a unique piece of Lego.

    this is the first IDEAS I have bought, and I really enjoy the look and interesting details. I also buy a sailboat put next to the lighthouse, and buy more pieces to add details

    Balázs, you made an excellent video review again. Not only does it point out all the interesting solutions and features of this set, but finally present it at night with a fog effect, as it should. Your efforts and creative solutions clearly set you apart from other reviewers. Congratulation. As a result of your review, I almost bought the set, but then there's the price...

    Hey Balazs, great review, this set really looks very cool and interesting, although it will probably break my bank account😅. Also, I love how you explain the science behind the Fresnel lens and point out every detail. Anyway, keep up the great work!

    I like the model. Way better than many designs made by LEGO's own designers.

    I really like the overall look, I wonder if it would be possible to replace the sticker with an actual small piece of mirror to improve the lamp power, it would be a good mod - mirror effect stickers are known to be significantly less reflective.

    • @mutantpie
      @mutantpie ปีที่แล้ว

      LEGO has made better mirrors in the past (first surface, as the piece was chromed). Also, Lego could have included another set of lights, and then you would have the ability to have three LEDs at the top of the tower. Imagine that, a better mirror with three times brightness.

    • @RacingBrick
      @RacingBrick  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      If you take a look at the structure, the light shines through a 1x1 hole in the middle of the turntable, you cannot squeeze more than one LED in there. Additionally, the hub only has two ports and both of them are used so there's no extra space for more. If they used the Technic hub that gives you extra ports but would make the price even higher and you'd be forced to use an app to operate the lighthouse.

    Built this over the weekend (got it for an even exchange for turning in a few older used sets) and It is a very nice build.. however its at most a $200-230 USD set....
    My stickers were not folded or damaged in my set.

    I once build a model of a real lighthouse, I had a hard time with the light being strong enough and still rotate without a lense, tried the magnifying glass but it really didn't any good, the solution was to make the lights rotate with a 9V battery rotating within the tower.
    Another big problem was the noise from the motor, I used some technic rubber pieces to solve that problem.
    My lighthouse was a lot bigger but it was running for two days straight

    It’s a really nice looking set, but too expensive for the purposes I’d use it for. It’s a display piece mostly and the light+motorization, while interesting, would rarely be used. So I’d end up spending a bunch of extra $$$ for features I never use, or really even care about. I’d much prefer a lower price with the ability to add those extra features by buying the extra parts if I wanted them.

    Your lego reviews continue to have the best content on youtube. Thanks. Yeah even before the price, when i saw this at the lego store the model is physically to small and the base missing modern detail i didn't even want it. There was no wow factor. I think its first designed to make sense for lego table city people.. its upset the set for shelf display afols i think.

    There are two problems with this set that stop me from buying. The price. I prefer to spend a bit more and get lion knight castle, i know the lion knight has nothing to do with this set, but price per piece is a lot better.
    The second and biggest problem are the batteries. They could have made this set with a wall adapter. Since its a display set you could just place it somewhere near a wall to plug it, or use a bigger cable, just like any eletronic. Its sad, 4 batteries and with screwdriver? No thank you.
