Thanks. I'm writing a book about them, and have a spreadsheet of their appearances. According to a flyer from the Lancer Agency they were to have played at SOSMP on 1/15/88. Did they actually play there on both dates? Or is the flyer mistaken? Anyway, I hadn't seen this video before. Thanks for posting!
@@iragitlin7549 the date could certainly be wrong (mine). Lance LeRoy was a much better detail guy than me. This would been how the original video was labeled *or* my best guess based on dats of the week. I can add that this date would have been part of my mother Jean Cornett's long friendship with Dudley. It was not easy for an eastern seaboard band to come to the Middle of Nowhere FL in January, and a reduced fee (and routed dates) would be paramount. The park was young in those days, and these shows rarely earned more than a few hundred dollars for the bands. Dudley will remember better than me.
Thanks for the background details. As I said, the flyer gives a date of 1/15. Now, those flyers aren't always 100% accurate either-- BUT-- At some point in your video Eddie Stubbs mentions an appearance the next day at an IBEW hall, and my sources list that for 1/16, so I think that supports the 1/15 date. In any case, it's great to see a JMB performance I didn't know about before. I look forward to watching the whole thing. Thanks for posting!
What's the name of the venue? Where is/was it located?
Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park music hall, Live Oak, FL
