It's the most complicated rpg I have ever seen and the most difficult to understand/comprehend and master. I doubt it sold as well as it should have with a less complex system.
the angel path doesn't just give you "support" stuff. It straight up gives you the best offensive spells in the game - in bolt of justice , and storm of justice. They have no upper scale limit (they scale as long as your caster level increases) , do more damage the stronger your opponent is (does more dmg to demons. Does even more damage to demon lords) , can't miss or be resisted , automaticallly debuffs the enemy , and has a chance to leave the enemy prone. Storm of justice does the same thing , but in an aoe. And you get bolt of justice as soon as you reach mythic level 3 , if you're a merged angel. Angel is THE ultimate power fantasy in this game. On top of that , you have by far the best story , and one of the most satisfying endgame encounter (since you can chose to permanently merc one of the main antagonists of the game , by straight up invading their domain , and then purging it with fire). They also have a spell named "Wrath of the righteous". Nuff said.
@@noobatgames3321 you're not necesarily going to cast a lot with paladins anyway , and it can't merge spellbooks either , since you require a full divine caster to do that (cleric/oracle/druid/shaman/etc) , but the pally can have some decent utility spells. That being said , the main reason u want more cha for a pally is not even for the spells a lot of time , but for the smite ability , which scales with cha. The more charisma u have , the bigger the attack and deflection bonuses of your character , and the same holds true for mark of justice. So a high cha paladin that just marked an targed with mark of justice will allow their allies to absolutly demolish a single target. It's probably one of the single strongest buffs your allies could have against an evil character. If you add guarded hearth from the community domain , on a cleric.....there is your boss killer combo.
@@noobatgames3321 The Angel is by far the most powerful for full divine spellcasters (cleric, oracle, shaman, druid) because these classes can merge their spellbooks. Oracle as a spontanous caster that can get an animal companion and useful melee abilites is the most powerful IMO, but the others are pretty close. Paladins only have a spell list up to level 4 and can't merge their spellbooks, which makes them significantly less powerful than full caster classes. The "support" aspect of the path means it has the most powerful buffs as well, but it is simply the most powerful path overall not just the most powerful buffer.
Angel is the most powerful path for divine casters and the most powerful path in absolute terms. Lich is the most powerful path for arcane casters. Trickster is the most powerful path for warriors and the best path to transition to gold dragon or legend.
Regular angel is pretty much a buffer with a passive aura, sword of heaven getting upgrades to share with the whole team and the spells slots are so few you can't really just use them for fights so you just use the long lasting buffs, the damage spells come in so late and with lower caster level than what any full caster class would have at that stage of the game Merged angel in the other hand is not even classifiable, be it cleric, oracle, druid or shaman they're just the best at everything, they one shot everything before initiative is even rolled and have a billion 24 hour buffs that make them completely immortal and quintuple their allies damage output
I don't like Lich because I can't make a good Lich and spending eternity as an undead doesn't feel that good with me. I would rather resurrect people than raise them as undead.
While Angel is the most powerful from a pure gameplay perspective, but i still preffer the meta power of Aeon of changing the Timeline, correcting even Events to a favourable outcome that even the strongest Angel couldn't.

Thanks for watching! The Pillars series is definitely next up on my list of games to play, though I'll probably play them in order. I'm excited to live my out my pirate fantasy in the second one!

Not to mention the Mythic paths OST, mate, those songs are absolutely beautiful. Currently i'm on my way to become a Swarm, i'm really excited to see how it's going to be.
I wanna actually understand these games so much. It's just beyond me. I have 17 hours in pathfinder wotr and it was all just several runs of me quiting the game after few hours and not playing it for several months. I did 9 angel (gradually increasing the difficulty from core to unfair) 1 lich, 1 legend,1 azata and 1 trickster run and Demon in progress. @Gamerznation704 No, it's probably not you. It does feel pretty insurmountable in the beginning. Once your characters start coming together it gets a bit easier
I haven't played WotR just yet but clocked in about 30-40 hours on Pathfinder kingmaker. I've also played a bit of Baldurs gate 3. Tell me your thoughts on whether you prefer WotR or BG3? Give me pros and cons for each without spoiling. Thanks!
@Ontos99 Hmm I really do love both, but I think Baldur's Gate wins for me between the two. The production quality alone sells it for me. The voice acting, the characters, the builds! It's not quite as deep as Wrath, but it still has a lot going for it in terms of character customization. I recommend both, but Baldur's Gate 3 first!
@@posttiggle and once you've played bg3 twice , once as good and another as evil , you're pretty much done with it. It has no replay value , and looks more like a pretty wedding cake. It's spectacular , but it's something that in the end , you will just eat a single slice.
tried it three times, found it horrible at best. Tried Rogue Trader from the same developer and my Warhammer fan in me pushed me through the first 4 hours, then it clicked. Went back to Pathfinder, loved it aswell, but boy they suck at beginning a video game for newcomers
i mean....both systems (warhammer and pathfinder 1e) are not exactly made for people with no tabletop experience in mind if we're being honest. Pathfinder in particular was dnd 3e , with even more layers of complexity added into the mix.
@@mihai000000 perfectly put, good sir. But i would love a “mainstream character as default” for beginners. Dont get me wrong you can easily google a simple “hit the guy in the face” build but it should be in the game. Many friends of mine gave up.( they were introduced to dnd via Baldurs Gate 3) mainstream brings money and gives you more views entirely.
@@theherooflfr9869 actually , i feel like people have a very wrong ideea about what is the easiest character to build for a newbie , in pathfinder. A fighter is hilariously enough.....not newbie friendly. They get a lot of feats , and to build a fighter corectly , you kinda need to understand what feat is good , what requirements you have for each feat , and how they interact with each other. You can easily make a crappy fighter if you have no clue about what you're doing. In wotr in particular, i believe that its easier to build a viable caster , then it is to build a martial. Id suggest any newbie to play an oracle/angel or sorcerer/lich as their class and mythic combo , because even if you take crap feats on them , the sheer power of the merged spellbook will carry you anyway.
I just found rhis game browsing steam and am gonna give it a crack relatively blind and my gaming expertise being modded stardew valley and terraria lmao
Dude I’ve been trying to get into this game but the writing/characters are just not compelling to me yet. Does it get better? I’m going to keep giving it a try
@willis9421 It does. The main story at least. The companions you can pick up are kinda hit or miss. Some are great, like Nenio and Wenduag, others are kinda meh, like Seelah or Lann. They're by no means bad, but I found not all companions held up to the same standard
I haven't seen Trickster but agree about the rest; Azata has the best highs but the most boring lows. About the ones you didn't mention, Devil is very well made (one of the best late-game experiences), and Gold Dragon is pretty cool despite the early issues. I'm not a fan of Legend, but that's mostly a personal lore thing. Aeon has a nice concept but some choices are just unbearable to me; I guess that means Owlcat did a good job.
Wow did u just sold this game or scared people away? Hard to say since so many not for everyone stuff. If this game looks hard to understand there is an auto lvl for Char and companions options which is pretty decent. I personally use it on 3 out of 5 of my companions and doing OK on core difficulty. Also don't make my mistake -dont buy this game on consoles. It's a mess on ps5 with lags and crashes. Controls are nice tho. Get pc version and download some mods which make this amazing game even better.
I tried playing this after finishing BG3. It's hard to go from BG3 to any other CRPG. The quality seems so much worse.. I know BG3 cost a lot more money to make, but still....
Agreed. When it comes to mechanics, one can hardly compete with bg3. Another plus is how many situations did Larian predict and prepared for. But there are two things where pathfinder truly shines. The first is the story - it is far more complex and interesting than the one in bg3 (at least for me). The other are characters. It isn't like those in bg3 are bad or something, but I simply like those in pathfinder more. Especially Daeran with his hilarious remarks, Aivu because how cute she is and Arue because who doesn't like your Succubus waifu. And of course nocticula. She might not be a companion, but any interaction with her is just great - especially the one with Ember
@@kamilkozowski105 Yeah BG3 definetely has better production vaules, hands down no comparison. However, its limited by D&D 5th Edition while Pathfinder is based on an older, less streamlined, more complex version of D&D. Thus you have a lot more character choice in Pathfinder with what you can do with your class when you level up.
I had the exact opposite reaction. After many many hours in WotR BG3 just seemed so slow and cumbersome. It took me a few restarts separated by months before I even liked it a little (I kept trying because I really wanted to like it!). With mods it's actually quite enjoyable, just not as much as Wrath of the Righteous.
Nah, WotR is a better game then BG3. BG3 is filled with so much boring garbage, I just want to engage with the combat system, not click another 100 boxes.
This game is not that complicated. In just 2 hours, I was able to master the save and load systems
It's the most complicated rpg I have ever seen and the most difficult to understand/comprehend and master. I doubt it sold as well as it should have with a less complex system.

I just finished a playthrough of this last week. With crusade mode on, aiming for completion, it’s quite a commitment.
I enjoyed it, but yeah it’s a lot to learn. Lich with a merged spell book is insanely strong.
Very well done.
Hi! Great video I also love this game and I am also a noob at it, if you like these type of games, check Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire in my humble opinion is hands down one of the best if not the best CRPG ever, I will love to watch a video about that game
Thanks for watching! The Pillars series is definitely next up on my list of games to play, though I'll probably play them in order. I'm excited to live my out my pirate fantasy in the second one!
Wotr is awesome. It feels like if the power progression carried on from bg2. Things just get insane in wotr.
Gotta try rogue trader next if you haven't yet!
every mythic path can be goood,. AEON works amazingly well with inquister, and has some good spells, take spell bane and dispel focus to make the aeon bane more effective
I absolutely love this game, and after almost 400 hours put into it i can say that it is always satisfying to be more and more powerful with each Mythic Level.
I escaped the underground labyrinth/dungeon thing one time. That's the most progress I made and it was basically the prologue.
@@nurunkabir1893 They're definitely tough to get into, but there are some CRPGs that are far more approachable than Pathfinder. If you see another D20 style rpg that interests you, start there! Getting over the dice rolls and how to manipulate your outcomes is a big hurdle, but once you pass it, Pathfinder becomes much more digestible!
on what dificulty were you playing ? Normal is actually the equivalent of veteran or even hard compared to most other games. Don't be ashamed to lower the difficulty if you find normal too tought.
The game rewards system knowledge.....a lot , but it would be a shame not to experience the story , simply because you're new to the system
Great video! Just subbed!
I wanted to get this game, but when I went to the store page, I had no idea what to get or not get. More content than clue. So it can sit in my to do pile until they release a version which has the stuff in it.
Being honest, base game, season pass 1 and 2 (include all dlcs released), and it is it
People intimidated by too many options with their being over 200 archetypes in the game pfft. Meanwhile I installed mods that add more archetypes and classes to the game before my first playthrough 🤓 Warlord Fighter Demon FTW. (Prestige Plus mod) (Massive dodge bonus for crazy high AC in demon form while also having several natural weapon attacks for massive damage)
295 hours. Played with Angel stopped at the middle. Then tried Devil I failed and I became an Aeon instead and finished the game. Now I am playing as an Azata.
All you need to know is: full buff all buffs everyday for 24 hours (mythic feats). Have everyone on a mount. Nenio use Phantasmal killer all the time.
I started today my "final unfair run" (I told this to myself 1000 hours of gameplay ago, Im close to 2000 now 😢 . I did 9 angel (gradually increasing the difficulty from core to unfair) 1 lich, 1 legend,1 azata and 1 trickster run and Demon in progress. Trickster is by far the most easy (the roll 20 spell is too OP) , i liked legend a lot except that you can't have the secret full ascension ending... lets see how it goes with the demon (the swarm is intriguing too)..,, happy playng
XD your obssession with Angel it is me with aeon/devil, this game is almost everything I want in a game, (lacks home building and rts for crusade) apart from it i am an addict
@@progamasEjogos I'm loving my demon unfair run I'm at the end of act 2, first map on midnight island, but u made me curious maybe next one will be Aeon :)
WoTR my fave game ever made tbh
Huh I just started looking at this game. Apparently I already own it. I'm excited to be an evil Lich
I have an ungodly number of hours. This game is my game of the decade.
I have a few hours into this game but I keep losing in combat.
I've beaten games like tyranny, fallout 1 and 2, Divinity Original Sin 2 and other cRPG's.
I love this game, but its difficult for me and its probally not the games fault, I just have to keep at it.
„I spent 100 hours in my youtube scribt and finally got it.“
Wait, only 100 hours?!
Oh no lol not the Ruffians!
Kingmaker is also good, especially if you liked this one.
tried it three times, found it horrible at best.
WOTR has me drawn in soooo hard
Yes me too, the journey of learning to play has been so fun
i Just play hunter and have at least 3 wolfes that are op =D Get the Addon BubbleBuffs so sthe game becomes a masterpiece
If they gonna make another pathfinder game, fully voice acted and use the pathfinder ruleset 2.0 then it will be amazing
Tiggle
No concentration spells is nice
in short: its Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 Edition
OK tbh, in terms of story, Trickster is one of the worst Mythics; Lich and Angel are best, followed by Azata, Aeon and Demon.
@@andersonrosa6645 Which choices?
I swear I'm the only one that heavily dislikes this game.
Why does this guy sounds almost like Lann??!!
I have more than 500 hours in game and still learning😂
Wow did u just sold this game or scared people away? Hard to say since so many not for everyone stuff. If this game looks hard to understand there is an auto lvl for Char and companions options which is pretty decent. I personally use it on 3 out of 5 of my companions and doing OK on core difficulty.
Also don't make my mistake -dont buy this game on consoles. It's a mess on ps5 with lags and crashes. Controls are nice tho. Get pc version and download some mods which make this amazing game even better.
Love crpgs, hate this game
Hardcore rpg brainrot must spread.
This game is why TH-cam exists. Follow the meta and just turn your brain off for a good time.
BG3 is filled with so much boring garbage, I just want to engage with the combat system, not click another 100 boxes.
i just started this game and im OVERWHELMED AND CONFUSED.................. the creation character was already long and confusing..............
