I'm Chaospread of PoE Obsidian forum, Boeroer is a guiding light for all of us, not only for builds but also for mechanics and many aspects related to Poe 1 and 2. Those games would be worst without him! You are very good in making video of such kind, if you wanna go on with PoE videos I can suggest other arguments: - how to assemble groups - the synergies among various classes; - various game mechanics explained well (speed attacks, damage, power levels...) - strategies versus bosses (i.e. Nemnok, Guardian of Ukaizo, Oracle of Wael ...) and megabosses - SOLO or not - Eora has a great background, history and lore. The souls thing, the Wheel, the Pantheon, I think they can deserve a video :) Thanks to bring us Boeroer build explained by his voice, keep it up!
i just found this video and i just wanted to slap in a build i am using which probably not many other players are rocking. The Multiclass consists of a Lifegiver Druid and a Conjuration Wizard Race up to you, but do not reduce dexterity. Humans give you a very good passive, Elves give best stats and dex affliction defense, Nature Godlikes are best for minmaxing, but cannot use the mask of deep grotto sadly. Stats are gigagreedy, you want to max out your dexterity while keeping up 15+ perception, intellect and might, the reason for that, is as follows: Dex max is mendatory to machinegun your spells, you will alternate dots and hots in quick succession on battlestart and you want your weapon conjurations to be mega quick so you can adjust melee/ranged combat within seconds Might 15+ is mendatory so our dots and hots actually generate numbers on the screen Intellect 15+ is mendatory to increase our hots and dots areas and durations Perception 15+ is mendatory because our dots are pretty hard to land to begin with so we dont want to artificially increase that problem those 3 stats are so important, you just cannot invest into your defenses. this will be fixed in the party comp suggestion. i personally prefer to dump resolve and keep con a bit higher, so i wont die to a ranged shot to the face You are pretty free what you want to pick up, but generally you want to pick the strongest heals and every damage over time effect, while also picking up the weapon conjurations (blights, citals, rot skulls) Every other spell you pick up should focus on increasing your combat prowess (inspirations for example) In combat, you want to inflict touch of rot and autumn's decay as fast as possible and since they are short range or cone shaped, you kinda want to start in 2nd row frontline after some initial dots, you will bolster your party with inspirations and hots or get yourself going with the wizards inspirations (eldritch aim, merciless gaze, alacrity of motion) now you can either increase dot damage with maggots or conjure a weapon (usually i skip parasitic staff and start the conjure route with kalakoths blights) In case you are in danger, you can pop your lifegiver shapeshift for a massive healing boost (which will boost all the hots you already got going) Mid to lategame you will gain alot of new tools to improve on this playstyle, there are also a massive amount of synergy equip pieces in deadfire you can take advantage of. This build will evolve throughout the entire playthrough, as it has basically new playstyles on every tier you are reaching and it has equipment throughout maincampaign and every dlc. so you will never get bored of your character. The build is very fast, very glasscannon and it carries massively if you get rolling. Partycomp to support you: A Shieldbearer of St. Elca is your best friend, as his lay on hands straight up removes the danger of dying before you have your buffs/hots up A Priest is basically mendatory, as you might have the highest healing power in the game, you still lack in burst healing, the priest takes care of this weakness, while also providing powerful tools to enhance your damage drastically (dire blessing, devotion of the faithful, shining beacon) ANYTHING which wants to use Heavy Maces for the modal (reducing fortitude is us the most important thing to land your DoT effects) Classes capable of inflicting Might and Constitution afflictions (both stats are linked to fortitude). Melee chanter with a heavy mace maybe? Saru Sicr maybe??? Devoted/skald???? I dont want to tell you what equipment you should use, im just going to leave a couple of advises i personally follow for the build Do not equip anything over leather, you cannot afford to slow down.. generally 0% is what you want Weapons for the most part will not matter, as your conjured weapons do not care for your fighting style.... STILL there are 2 particularly insane weapons with good synergy which you probably want to test.. those are a Greatsword and a Arquebus.. both are coming quite late in the game so dont worry too much. Shield can help if you are looking for a safer approach. Me personally i go 2 handers becoz i like them Get everything which increases your Int/Might/Perception/Dex/Accuracy/Spelldamage/Acid keyword stuff Voidwheel, Blightheart, Mask Of Deep Grotto, Spidersilk Robes, Cauldron Shard, Kuarus Price, Stone of Power are just some standout pieces from many many amazing choices ;) For your skills, i highly suggest alchemy, as it increases some poison keyworded spells and it makes you take advantage of poisons and drugs more likely, increasing your variety of playstyles even further. Please react to this post, if you are trying out the build and tell me if you like it/what you like/dislike PS: This build is obviously very huge on 2nd playthrough+ as you can grab +2 all stats to fulfill the harsh minimum requirements. PS2: Build was played on PotD upscaling only upwards with +2all attributes + eder petslot + adra crystal blessings full run incl. all dlc's Enjoy
Love the emphasis on having fun! Was looking for a good chanter build, and that ranger multiclass looks like it would suit me, thanks for sharing ❤️ Really appreciate the note at the start about being able to do other things while the video plays. When I'm doing random chores or brain dead things at work, videos like this are exactly what I need.
This was excellent! Thanks so much. As someone that’s getting to POE2 “soon” love to pick one of these as a main character to go along with your list recent party build. First one or the topper might just be the ticket!
Great to hear Boeroer. He helped me figured out how to beat Llengrath and her dragons during my ultimate challenge years ago. BTW. There is new interview with Josh Sawyer: "Pillars TACTICS? - Obsidian's Josh Sawyer on the Past, Present and Future of Pillars of Eternity".
Boeroer is the man, I've been stea..using his builds in POE & Deadfire for years. Always fun and for a moron like I am easy to use and run in game. It's great he's getting the props he deserves.
Thanks guys, finished PoE last week, just started Deadfire, wanted to continue my cipher from the 1st game but benefit from the multiclass system but didn't quite enjoy the synergies i had built and the game was way too easy on veteran, i had to reroll before getting too far in the story and your Ceaseless Siren build works wonders so far on Path of the Damned. Didn't think that POTD would be so brutal so i downloaded a mod that allows you to easily modify the stat buffs the enemies get from the difficulty level and put that right between veteran and POTD and man am i having fun, just got my ass kicked about 5 times by the boar and drake encounter at the dig site and loved every bit of it, my cipher/chanter carried every single fight on her back while Eder struggled to take a breath and Xoti and Aloth both run out of spells almost instantly at this point and the sirens just goes on ceaselessly charming, paralyzing and summoning. I can't thank you enough, i had great fun on the 1st game and this build makes me eager to play the second, thanks a lot guys.
Great conversation. In regards to your discussion at the end, I don't know if you've played Troubleshooter, but it has an initiative system that would have been perfect for turn based POE2 (in my opinion) and would have allowed them to replicate the action speed stat properly. Essentially, turns happen on a track, with certain actions or skills causing larger and lesser delays until your next turn, same as Deadfire. However, there are no rounds where everyone must go so it is possible to lap enemies if you are going fast enough and have slowed them down. It gives the system a more dynamic feeling of real time sliced into segments makes action speed more fluid instead of an initiative modifier. Also, I ran Spiritualist with Ascendant/Troubadour and it never felt quite right. Kicking myself for not thinking of Psion.
Final Fantasy Tactics is a classic example of a tactical RPG with a non-round-based time track. More recently the Kiseki/Legend of Heroes games also make good use of it. I was also surprised they didn't try that kind of approach for the turn-based adaptation of Deadfire.
So excited to see you just put out another Pillars video w Boeroer today!!! I am currently playing Deadfire, about mid way through my first playthrough. Do you have any suggestions for life steal builds or damage reflect builds,… or maybe those are just not mechanics to base a viable build around. You suggest that the last tier or Barb shout offers life steal but it’s not clear to me because life steal isn’t mentioned in the ability description. Thanks for all the great content 🔥🔥🔥
The life steal comes from Blood Ward if you go the Furyshaper subclass" pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Blood_Ward_(ability) Life steal builds are doable, but its more of an entire team comp than just a build. The important units are a furyshaper barbarian and any kind of Chanter.
Nice, have to try that out. Love seeing more Deadfire content, it's is my favorite isometric CRPG of all times and now with an SSD it's even more enjoyable than some years ago with an HD and looong loading times. Boeroer builds look very fun (his X feed less so, but who cares when we talk about game mechanics )
to me one of the most important aspect about builds and this is actually obvious but gets overlooked sooo much, is that it has to be fun from an early stage on...i hate all those super strong min max builds that unlock after you cleared 80% of the game becasue you need a certain level or item or whatever
Not seeing any repost on the offensive perry for the bloody perry build. Such a cool build idea but yeah maybe it got nerfed,… upgraded Wispers of the Endless Path w offensive perry and build my character up with high deflection. It shows in the combat log when he is missed but no animation or any mention of damage returned or dazing,… perhaps the damage so low that it gets negated 🤷🏽♂️
No, there was no nerf. Offensive Parry has no animation. It's an instant (single target) attack that is only visible in the combat log (the dazing also). What is visible on screen is a red floating damage number over the enemy's head if Offensive Parry hits the enemy (if you have that UI option turned on). Note that Offensive Parry is not an AoE attack like the normal cone attack of WotEP. Also note that only melee attacks that miss will trigger Offensive Parry. Misses from ranged attacks and spells will not. Sometimes the game might fail to register the enchantment if you enchanted the weapon while holding it. I that case simply unequip it, put it in the inventory, equip it again and it should be fixed. But this only occurs very seldomly.
