1:51:16 "Why would I watch a Coredumped video when I could just be casting fireball?" a fireball is only cast once, a Coredumped video is a permanent passive int buff :^)
Doing story mode for my second playthrough after challenging myself on my first playthrough. I just want to consume the lore for better understanding now.
Well he does say in the first 60 seconds that it’s a guide for the hardest achievement in the game.. If you’re just a normal mode story person you don’t need to know any of this..
This is the thorough guide we need! It’s worth watching in full. You won’t save time by watching shorter videos because you won’t understand how to play on higher difficulty. Coredumped understands this game better than anyone.
I finished PoE twice, once on story mode and once on easy difficulty. I love everything about this game, the atmosphere, lore, characters, the world and gameplay mechanics. However I kind of sucked at combat (hence the reason of playing on two easiest difficulties) but thanks to your guide I think I'm ready to try playing it again on Hard, and maybe even PotD after that. Looking forward to it, thank you for this guide!
Gotta say, your guide was extremely detailed and enjoyable. Just got into the game and now have a better idea on how to play. Thank you so much on this.
I just want to say, you did a great job with intro all the way through the end. You put a LOT of work into this, it's pretty much worthy of a lecture in Universities :) Well done Professor.
I’m glad you pointed out the difficulty in learning the nuanced differences between this and BG, IWD, Torment etc. I felt the same way when I first started, but this game is fun as hell once you get the hang of it
Yup, exactly what I always say when people ask about it. Most cRPGs are a bit like this in a way. It does have a complex system that falls out of what people might be used to in other popular cRPGs, which can definitely cause some confusion at first, but once you get the hang of it, this game provides very very good combat mechanics and fights! Not the mention the awesome world and story of course
I played the game twice by now, going for a third playthrough and gotta say, this guide is stellar, really competent stuff, even though I knew everything I still enjoyed it, thank you.
Just got into this game. Tried and stopped several times because of the mechanics but this was a through and great guide and really helped me understand what I was missing. Reinstalled and going to give it another shot now that I know what the different aspects are. Cipher I am thinking as my main toon.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it :D Go for it and good luck in your new run, the game is *really* good once you get a grasp of the mechanics, both gameplay wise as well as an amazing story.
Thanks Mr Coredumped Gaming! This is the best PoEt guide I've come across by far on TH-cam. It's so good I've downloaded the video just to be on the safe side because I can't risk losing it. This is how these sort of games guides should be done -- no doubt about it.
TY! I'm working on my first playthrough (act 3) on easy because I found the new combat systems a bit daunting. This guide will give me confidence to crank up the difficulty level and have a better understanding of underlying mechanics!
thank you for the video, 10hrs into the game and I felt like I wasn't quite getting it. This video has been very helpful clearing things up. loved that examples were shown with explanations.
I'll start PoE for the first time. I was afraid to choke and bored from the highly rated game but I guess I'm good to go for now and also I'll probably play on easy mode in first playthrough with some sneaky rogue, wish me luck and thanks for the video.
Best of luck my friend, PoE is an excellent game :) And you do well to not go for the higher difficulties in the game right from the start as the game can be quite punishing at times. Have fun :D
This is great. I keep going back forth with pillars and every then and now need that refresher in combat. Going to burn through this, and Deadfire untill Avowed is released.
Enjoy my friend, these are always nice games to come back to every once in a while. I really hope they do a good job with Avowed, craving a game of that style.
Thank you kind sir! If you have the will to play these games and to learn, then you are headed into awesome adventures :D feel free to also check out the full playthrough that I also have for the game in case you want to see any specific areas or fights or even how I build my characters. Enjoy!
I just picked this game back up after putting it down for a while, and this video has helped me tremendously to understand the game. I was playing on easy but I was just kind of blitzing through combat encounters like that and it wasn't satisfying, but after watching this I was able to bump it up to the next difficulty level. Great video. Thanks!
Amazing video! Just started playing PoE after buying it a few years ago. The info on equipment stacking and the suppressed info I haven't seen anywhere else..as well as a ton of other useful tips like food stacking as well.. Thanks..Subscribed!
You know, I first played PoE about five years ago, and just got *stomped* on, so I left it - for years. Now that you've shared this video, though, to explain how the game mechanics actually work, I've found the interest to try again. While the game developers scored an F on intuitive user-friendly gameplay, you've definitely scored some bonus points explaining how to actually use the game. Thanks for all your time and efforts, Coredumped! :)
I think it ends up being a trait of most cRPGs. Their main appeal (at least to me) ends up being one of its biggest downfalls for new players, which is the complexity. Thank you for your comment, very happy to hear that this guide helped you get a better understanding of the game and motivated to give it another go :D Enjoy! The game is very much worth it, feel free to come back and let me know how your adventure is going :)
I also used choke points a lot in pillars 1. I used a fighter, paladin, barbarian frontline with a priest and wizard backline. I wasnt so sure about my last choice and flexed it. The point when you have the enemys engaged in a choke all clumping together and you cast fire wall + fire ball with aloth while debuffing with durance is so statisfying. Only played the game on hard.
Your gameplay and videos are really amazing. as i said in the past thanks to your poe walktrough, i gained new appreciation for dnd like games, and dnd it self.
Holy hell this is another slam dunk video! Soon I will have finished my first ever SCS insane run in BG2 and I was looking to replay PoE afterwards. I haven't played PoE since it got released so this has been a very helpful video for me. Thanks mate!
This is the best guide I have found. I wish I would have found it when I first started playing POE. Some of the stuff I had already learned, but I learned a lot as well. This top notch. You should do more guides for CRPG games.
Thank you very much good sir! Always happy to hear it was helpful :) I have guides for Baldur's Gate and Pathfinder Kingmaker as well as of now, and playthroughs for almost all of the best cRPGs around in case you want to check them out.
35:48 ... it's really cute how when you surprised yourself by winning I can hear the excitement in you voice. For a second there you haad a more chipper sound about you, lol. That's why gaming is awesome. ON the flip side, gaming, as we all know, can have you put your fist through your monitor. :) ❤ Thanks for breaking all this down. One of the best, if not THE best, tutorials on this complex, yet amazing game. +1
Thank you very much for your kind words good sir! And yeah, to be honest I wasn't expecting that fight to go as well as it did lol but I suppose it served even better as a demonstration of my point this way :D
Oh my goodness! Thank you soo much to tell us that you can sequence spells/actions and how to do it! I’ve played this game several times without knowing this. 😅
Outstanding explanation of game concepts! Amazing video. I’m completely new to these types of games but thought Pillars of Eternity seemed interesting and wanted to give it a try. Struggled immensely so far 😂. After seeing these tips I think I can make some serious improvements immediately.
Thank you kind sir! Always happy to hear it was helpful :) Pillars is definitely one of the strongest choices for games of this style so you picked well! If there's anything that you want to know and/or are struggling with let me know. And also, enjoy Pillars of Eternity, the world lore and story are trully amazing.
This is an amazing guide dude thanks for it im on my second playthrough playing in hard i barley finished the game on normal im looking to improve my game and this helped me alot💪
Muito obrigado! Isto é sem dúvida um dos melhores jogos do género, acredito que vás desfrutar duma boa aventura com ele :D Boa sorte e qualquer dúvida apita!
Wish I would’ve had this great guide bc it’ll help new players enjoy PoE1 more. Usually I play cRPGs on hard, but this 1 I played first on normal because I liked its story better than combat. At the start I played priest & didn’t understand I should get full party ASAP, so combat seemed impossible in first few areas. Also generally I enjoy less “real-time with pause” & prefer to select each move in tactical turn-based or action game. Finally I looked on Reddit & folks said “either play melee or go make full party at hound Inn.” Then I realized oh ok, combat is tuned for party 😂
Thanks for the kind words, happy to hear it helped :D I would say that combat is tuned for a party yes, but you don't need to recruit mercenaries for that. The start you can handle just with the people you find initially. If you're interested, I have my full playthrough in the channel on the highest difficulty and don't use any mercenaries. However, if you are struggling at those initial places they can help
Thanks for this, I’m one of those players that has zero experience with these, like I’m coming from typical open world games lol! But I am so intrigued and interested in this since I never had friends that played D&D growing up and this, I imagine, is close to that style. Thanks!
Welcome to the world of classic RPGs :D if you're looking for D&D style games, the baldur's gate series, icewind dale, pathfinder and more recently, solasta are more closely related (as they use D&D rulesets or very similiar in pathfinder's case, while pillars doesn't) but yes, pillars is an excelent choice without question. It may not use a D&D setting but it sure does a hell of a job creating its own and is one of thr greatest games ever made in this genre. If you like it, you're in for some great times :D enjoy friend!
Nice guide, My party Barbarian(main character), Eder, Durance, Aloth, Hiravias(cc machine), optinal. I think rogue necessary for enemy casters or some fights just for high single target damage, other than that if you have priest you can go anything, One time druids handed my ass over to me and kill 3 people on my party. Only my barbarian priest and druid stay alive but thanks to priest my barbarian 1v9 enemy.
Druid enemies are always a pain lol Priest really is very very important, even more so if fighting enemy druids in order to get suppress afflictions on those nasty debuffs and DoTs. Barbarians are insane - one of my favourite triple crown runs ever was with a barbarian wielding the long range spear that prones on crit, oh man, it was glorious :D
A further note on buffing and debuffing, if you are stacking every category of buffs or have all the most powerful debuffs (blind, charm, petrify) the game is absolutely trivialized. The stat difference will be nearly insurmountable (given the enemy has basically 0 to all defenses or even accuracy, even on potd). Enemies basically just die and they can never hit your guys.
One thing no one ever mentions it.Guys holding weapons with high reach can attack enemies from behind your tank...For example durance and his shit stick can stand directly behind Eder
Very true, reach weapons are exceptional for a second row damage dealer allowing them to focus more on damage rather than defensive talents. Perfect style for a Barbarian for example.
Your timing is impeccable as always my friend! Finished my Baldur's Gate play throughs and have now started on Pillars hahaha 😂 Maybe onto Pathfinder:Wotr after that, hopefully in time for BG3 😁
Best of luck for your playthroughs :D I also need to play some more pathfinder in order to prepare to bring it to the channel at some point. I feel pretty ok with kingmaker by now but wotr is still a bit painful :p
@@CoredumpedGaming I like having build options but Wotr has far too many haha. Game as a whole is good but I feel like it's missing something when it comes to comparing it any of the classics of the genre. Can't quite put my finger in exactly what is though 😂
@@davosan6782 Yup, a person can lose hours upon hours just looking at the character creation screen lol My issue with Wotr is, even though I think it's a good game to play through, the amount of Demon type enemies is waaaay too much. I know it's related to the story but still, give me some variety please :p
PLEASE ANSWER THIS COMMENT. My dear friend i love your accent and your passion. I also love these type of games like frp rpg strategy fantasy advanture etc. and i learned a lot from your guides. Your way of thinking is smilar with mine. I love you because who you are. Never change ! Love you buddy i hope u will have a perfect happy life i know u are a great person also.
Thank you for the kind words friend :D means a lot and I'm always happy to hear people are enjoying these videos and that they are being useful! All the best!
Truly. I mean, I could say the same thing about most cRPGs but this one is really one of the great ones. It checked pretty much every box in what a great cRPG should be and is one of my favourite games of all time. I replay every few years if I get the chance.
@@CoredumpedGaming you the man. I'm definitely gonna watch this through and replay it. I appreciate the effort you put into this. I'm currently playing BG3 though, couldn't help myself lol.
@@CoredumpedGaming thanks 2 you i started to play this game on Hard difficulty ....there is to much to learn but im enjoying it so far. Watched this video of yours 3 Times now 🤣
@@pitbullash ahah yes, the game does have a lot of complexity and takes some getting used to, but that's also what makes it so awesome :D Have fun in your runs!
My favourite thing about food buffs is imagining the entire party, 3 floors into a dungeon, just killed some rotting undead. They scout a group of more undead in the next room through an open doorway. They all pull out a full meal, including alcohol (except the one person is drinking cooking oil for some reason) that has been in their packs for weeks. They, while still in stealth, eat an entire meal that is way past edible, still standing amongst rotting undead corpses, and then go fight a group of more enemies. Video games...
Stealth is something that I really only give one character. It's mostly useful to scout a little bit ahead but no real use other than that (of course it allows to move closer to enemies while being undetected but for the most part the default stealth will work just fine for that). I would give it to one character and for everybody else I would just ignore it
@@CoredumpedGaming Well in the video, you mention that you lead a party with stealth and unstealth the tank. So I would figure some amount of points are put in the entire party. Is this not the case?
It is not the case no. Everyone can stealth from the start even if their stealth score is at the minimum. More stealth points just means you can get closer to the enemies without being spotted, which doesn't matter for this situation where you're just trying to engage with the tank.
Thank you so much for this. I'm playing for the first time, on xbox. This game is everything I've been looking for in a game. I'm still on the first act. One question for anyone who might see this and know please - is it possible to sequence attacks on xbox, and if so how? I'm 1 hr into the guide and it's my washing up, driving, and chilling background. You explain things very well. Thanks again
Hi! Nice to hear it's helpful :) I imagine that if the option exists on console it should show up somewhere in the keybind options. Tomorrow when I'm on my PC I'll look for the actual option name
@CoredumpedGaming thanks. I'm a much more effective fighting unit since watching your tutorial 👍 If you do happen to find the correct term for sequencing keybind would be appreciated, but no worries if not. I've googled and no joy
Ok, sorry about the delay on this response. Funny thing, there's actually no keybind for sequencing spells in the options. The only reference to it is if in-game, you open up the Cyclopedia (Quest log -> Cyclopedia tab) and then on the bottom left you have the Tips section. Do you have a "Queuing actions" page there? If you do, it should show you how to do it.
2:08:57 If the recovery speed is halved, shouldn't the recovery time double? If recovery is, let's say, 10 points, and your original speed of 1 point per second second is halved (so 0.5 points per second), it takes 20 seconds to recover, so the time is doubled.
I would say that you are correct yes. Sometimes these tooltips can be a little deceiving but if it does as it states in the description then the scenario you describe is the actual outcome.
Ah, got it. Well, in a text explanation - you can simply equip the grimoire on your character. Just by doing that you will have access to the spells inside the book. You can also learn spells from grimoires by paying some gold (if I remember correctly it's right click - learn) and then customize grimoires to your liking. You can always add any spell you have previously learned to any grimoire. After work I'll try to do a tiny video to better explain this for you
Correction (I'll edit the previous reply) - You can only cast spells that you have learned even if you have equipped a different grimoire that has them prepared already. I made this video to demonstrate how to learn and prepare spells, hope it's useful! th-cam.com/video/FFfi6-LHSMQ/w-d-xo.html
Great video, I've had it on deep freeze but after watching this I want to take it on again and hopefully finish it. But I'm think of playing a barbarian off tank character. Out of interest what was you approach to the different acts and the White Marches dlc?
Hello and thank you :) As for my approach, it varies. You have a my full playthrough in the channel in case you want to see exactly what I do and choose. You can go to the dlcs early (around level 7) or later (the game can scale up the difficulty for that). Normally I leave the DLCs for later. I do a lot of the main story, complete the endless paths of od nua and then I take off to the white march. Once I finish part1 of the white march I immediately start part2. After those are done I come back for other tougher areas of the game like the abbey and the torn bannermen and finish the game :)
Very true, it is indeed a big difference and something that players need to take into account, especially as it makes healing less relevant and damage mitigation much more important. My thought on that was that I felt that mechanic is pretty well explained and visualized in the game right from the start so I left it out. There were also other topics that I would like to cover in the video but it's quite long as is, I didn't want to stretch it too far :(
Just curious how would you recommend handling AI of characters? Should it be off? If not when on and when off? For auto attack should it be defend self, defensive, aggressive, or what?
If I remember correctly I normally either have it completely off (can be a bit annoying at times because a character can finish killing an enemy and then just stands there until you tell him to do something again) or only with auto-attack on. For auto-attack I have it on defensive. Generally speaking though, if I find myself having issues with characters doing things I don't want them to do, or interrupting my commands to auto attack an enemy, I will just turn off AI. If you don't have those issues, keeping it on defensive auto-attack should be fine
@@CoredumpedGamingThanks! Do you also do anything with spell or per encounter usage or only manually handle that? Like with Chanter spells I can see a potential excuse for having that part of AI toggled. Also seems like having AI defensive for ranged characters is good idea but if have AI on and Defensive (or even defend self) with more melee oriented characters that it can break formation and choke points unless have AI off.
I cast all spells manually. Even chanter phrases though I can maybe see a point in having those with AI assuming you're only casting buffs. If you have more active spells you want to cast with your chanter then I would also just do it manually. Regarding the break formation, that's a very good example of what I mentioned above. If AI starts breaking your patterns of preferred play, then just turn it off. You'll have to micro a bit more, but at least the characters don't make silly decisions that can be very costly.
They are both very good games. I consider Pillars of Eternity to be the better game in terms of story, WotR feels more epic however. If you want the more classic experience in a game with an excellent setting, amazing story and very good combat, I would suggest Pillars first. If you're looking for a more gameplay-centric experience, love to slay demons and like to build characters up to epic levels where you basically become a god, Wrath of the Righteous might be more up your alley. To note that you also have Pathfinder Kingmaker (predecessor to Wrath of the Righteous) which is also an excellent game. I will also say that if you are new to these types of game, Pathfinder is going to be *much more complex* than Pillars. I also have a New Player guide for Pathfinder here in case you want to see the differences - th-cam.com/video/iG8sDd4jyVU/w-d-xo.html
@@CoredumpedGaming Ended up buying Kingmaker and Pillars of Eternity thanks! I might get wrath of the righteous as well but need to do research on the DLC first
In my opinion, the best thing about the DLCs for WotR is the fact that some of them bring new things to the base game, like new classes, subclasses, items, spells, mythic abilities etc. The actual DLC "campaigns" are not very good (at least to me)
There's a whole world of dice that people are unaware of :p I like them a lot and have to contain myself otherwise I would have some more sets! I like this store - q-workshop.com/en/
Going for my first play through and I just like to play in the most harder mode. Great guide. I’m in doubt regarding the main class, between a Priest and a Cipher (ranged). What you suggest?
Both very good choices. I would suggest a cipher especially for a first playthrough because you will feel more active and doing more damage whereas with a priest you have to take care of a lot of support duties (which may not feel very main character worthy). Only for that reasoning would I suggest the cipher. In a party they are both excellent. Also want to note that you have both priest and cipher available as companions in the game.
@@pvfpinto not in the end, but it's not one that you can get very early on no, I would say a little before mid game. That wasn't to say that it would be a bad pick for a main character, it's just that there are people who prefer to play characters that they can't find as companions. Cipher is a very solid choice.
Hey hi, great vid :D I have a question: Using the same example with the Troll, Damage reduction it was DR:8 Crush 16, Burn 4 , Corrode 4, What happens if I use a freeze attack, it applies the base 16? ty mate
Hello, if the damage type is not specified, then the base DR value applies. From the example you show if I'm reading it correctly, the base DR value is 8, so since freeze is not specified, the DR applied would be 8.
@@CoredumpedGaming thanks mate 🙏🏽 Btw Quico question, can a priest be an off-tank? I’m new into the game and I started with a priest not knowing I’ll meet a priest happy to join my party 🫣
@@pingui43 you will meet a priest companion yes and they can be off-tanks. I prefer keeping them in the backline given that heavier armour slows down action time (like casting spells) but if you want them as off-tank just give them a weapon + shield, some defensive talents and high DR armour and you're good to go.
what ratio should i uprade keep? I have been upgrading security only. I was thinking maybe double security of prestige so i dont have to think about it to much.
Honestly I don't feel like it makes much of a difference, but I think getting more prestige is better. If I remember correctly you get "better" keep quests if you get to high prestige levels. I would still not neglect security though.
Not having to pre-buff is a gigantic advantage compared to other games indeed! And you can't even do it for the most part btw as most spells can only be used in combat. I think the system in PoE was trully quite good!
@@CoredumpedGaming yeah, for sure. I was just wondering at the higher difficulties if people actually pre buff with food or if not necessary at all? I just don’t bother.
It helps but I wouldn't consider it *necessary*. I use food buffs because I always play in triple crown with only a single save and if I die the run is over, so something that's as little effort as food I usually do for tougher fights. If just playing regular path of the damned without the iron man challenge I probably wouldn't bother.
If you mean when I mouse over the attack roll and it shows at the end (fortitude) you can ignore that. That's likely coming from some magical attribute from Durance's weapon.
Really? Well my friend, if you like it, you're in for a world of excelent games :D Just to name a few: Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, icewind dale, planescape torment, pathfinder kingmaker and wrath of the righteous. Several of these are also in the channel if you want to check them out :) This style is called Classic RPG
This is kind of a complicated question because there's a LOT you can do with wizards and deal damage in many different ways, even by being a melee wizard. For simplicity and since you did not specify I will assume the classic stand in the backline and blast enemies with spells build. Your most important stats will be: Might - makes you hit harder Dex - makes you cast and attack faster Per - makes you hit more accurately and crit more frequently Int - increases the area and duration of your spells All of the above are excellent for a wizard. If you wanted a super min maxed build you could dump Con and Res to the minimum, but this will make you a glass cannon that dies very easily if you aren't careful, and I don't normally recommend it. As a general approach that will serve you well I would suggest the following: Might - 15 Constitution - 7 Dexterity - 14 Perception - 16 Intellect - 16 Resolve - 7 You can then use race and culture to add some more points wherever you prefer. Overall in terms of personal preference in priority I would say INT > PER > MIG > DEX for this type of character. Please keep in mind that in PoE stats are more nuanced than in other games. You don't need to go to the extremes in order to have a good build unlike other games that favour that approach more. Hope that answers your question, if anything else you want to know feel free to ask!
Hi :3 so I want to play a barbarian but I fear I will be bad in dialogue skill checks :( Some guides say go for high int, resolve and dex and now I dont dont what class to play for dialogue
Hello, there's a lot of very different dialogue checks for any kind of stat. Really depends on the type of character you want to make. On my rogue for example he was smart and dexterous which made sense, while at the same time failing to meet resolve requirements, which is perfectly fine. Barbarians in this game btw want to have massive int scores. Int on a barbarian increases the area of their aoe attacks
I'm in my first playthrough and what I've seen is that stat and skill based dialogue checks are fairly inconsequential. You at most skip a step in convincing someone. There are some checks that need very high and very specific stat values to get a certain outcome, but they are rare and don't matter all that much. Just build the character how you want and see how things play out.

Best of luck my friend, PoE is an excellent game :)
And you do well to not go for the higher difficulties in the game right from the start as the game can be quite punishing at times.
@@CoredumpedGaming Oh yes. I'm hoping there's a lore video on pillars similar to skyrim; both worlds are just so expansive.
Fantastic guide! You do a really great job explaining every mechanic of the game in a very clear and entertaining way.

I just picked this game back up after putting it down for a while, and this video has helped me tremendously to understand the game. I was playing on easy but I was just kind of blitzing through combat encounters like that and it wasn't satisfying, but after watching this I was able to bump it up to the next difficulty level. Great video. Thanks!
Thank you very much good sir :D have fun in your new adventures in PoE, feel free to drop by and let me know how it's going!

The info on equipment stacking and the suppressed info I haven't seen anywhere else..as well as a ton of other useful tips like food stacking as well..

It is an amazing game to get back to!
I grabbed this video and listened to it in mp3 while I was doing gardening, best relax 2 hours for a long time for me, thank you ! :D
Not what I expected but happy to hear it :D we're also getting started on some gardening and had a bountiful cherry tomato harvest and 2 carrots! :p
Thank you for your comment, very happy to hear that this guide helped you get a better understanding of the game and motivated to give it another go :D
Enjoy! The game is very much worth it, feel free to come back and let me know how your adventure is going :)
Fantastic guide. I'm just starting out on my first playthrough and this has helped me understand the mechanics and given me great guidance. Thanks!
I am eagerly anticipating your Deadfire guide.
Rest assured that it will be done :D With a section specific to illustrate the differences between PoE1 and deadfire
Very good video about the complexity of that game. Thank you very much!
Thank you kindly, as usual, good sir :D
Holy hell this is another slam dunk video! Soon I will have finished my first ever SCS insane run in BG2 and I was looking to replay PoE afterwards. I haven't played PoE since it got released so this has been a very helpful video for me. Thanks mate!
Happy to hear you liked it mr. Dink :D Pillars is always worth replaying every once in a while, such a good game.
How has your BG2 SCS run been going?
This is the best guide I have found. I wish I would have found it when I first started playing POE. Some of the stuff I had already learned, but I learned a lot as well. This top notch. You should do more guides for CRPG games.

Thanks for the kind words, happy to hear it helped :D
I would say that combat is tuned for a party yes, but you don't need to recruit mercenaries for that.
@@CoredumpedGaming thanks!! i look forward to watching more of your videos and learning as much as i can.
Thank you ❤❤ I was looking 4 something like this since weeks
Most informative Video about pillars of eternity great work
Thank you good sir! Happy to hear it was helpful

I think the drinking of cooking oil just ties everything together nicely :D And they can even eat different full dishes to stack buffs ahah

Amazing guide, you have a new sub.
Thank you kind sir and welcome to the channel :)
Happy to hear it was useful!
I wish you explained how much stealth for non-main characters in your party (you just showed Rogue). Great guide btw.
Over two hours just to get started? Sounds like my kind of game.
I'm a much more effective fighting unit since watching your tutorial 👍
If you do happen to find the correct term for sequencing keybind would be appreciated, but no worries if not.
Well done. Thanks man.
Fantastic video
I was hoping for a little section on the spell books (grimoire editing) which I have found impossible playing on the PS
Thank you :)
You mean about how to learn and prepare spells in the grimoire? Or the spells that I consider to be best?
@CoredumpedGaming Actually how to use them. I think it's possible to use other spell books found on dead bodies but no clue how this is done.

Hello and thank you :)
As for my approach, it varies.
Really great, thanks
You did not cover endurance vs hp, which might be confusing for someone, let's say, coming from Baldur's Gate.
Great video!
Should I play this game or something like Pathfinder Wrath of The Righteous?

Going for my first play through and I just like to play in the most harder mode. Great guide. I’m in doubt regarding the main class, between a Priest and a Cipher (ranged). What you suggest?
Both very good choices. I would suggest a cipher especially for a first playthrough because you will feel more active and doing more damage whereas with a priest you have to take care of a lot of support duties (which may not feel very main character worthy). Only for that reasoning would I suggest the cipher. In a party they are both excellent.
Also want to note that you have both priest and cipher available as companions in the game.
@@CoredumpedGaming thanks. I know, but cipher I think that will appear in the end. Regarding that you would suggest another class?
@@pvfpinto not in the end, but it's not one that you can get very early on no, I would say a little before mid game.
That wasn't to say that it would be a bad pick for a main character, it's just that there are people who prefer to play characters that they can't find as companions. Cipher is a very solid choice.
@@CoredumpedGaming many thanks.
Hey hi, great vid :D
I have a question:
Using the same example with the Troll, Damage reduction it was DR:8 Crush 16, Burn 4 , Corrode 4, What happens if I use a freeze attack, it applies the base 16?
ty mate
Hello, if the damage type is not specified, then the base DR value applies. From the example you show if I'm reading it correctly, the base DR value is 8, so since freeze is not specified, the DR applied would be 8.
@@CoredumpedGaming thanks mate 🙏🏽
Btw Quico question, can a priest be an off-tank?
What I like about this game is there almost no need for pre buffing. At least not at the difficulties I play.
I like your assent. 😆
56:11 but why the accurasy is against the fortitude right now ? i think 'im missing something
If you mean when I mouse over the attack roll and it shows at the end (fortitude) you can ignore that. That's likely coming from some magical attribute from Durance's weapon.

Yes, all timers stop during a pause
Advice for starting attributes for damage dealer wizard?
This is kind of a complicated question because there's a LOT you can do with wizards and deal damage in many different ways, even by being a melee wizard.
For simplicity and since you did not specify I will assume the classic stand in the backline and blast enemies with spells build.
Your most important stats will be:
Might - makes you hit harder
Dex - makes you cast and attack faster
Per - makes you hit more accurately and crit more frequently
Int - increases the area and duration of your spells
All of the above are excellent for a wizard.
If you wanted a super min maxed build you could dump Con and Res to the minimum, but this will make you a glass cannon that dies very easily if you aren't careful, and I don't normally recommend it.
As a general approach that will serve you well I would suggest the following:
Might - 15
Constitution - 7
Dexterity - 14
Perception - 16
Intellect - 16
Resolve - 7
You can then use race and culture to add some more points wherever you prefer.
@@CoredumpedGaming WoW, very good answer! Thanks! That s it, the classic blaster caster, evocation wizard from DnD
Hi :3 so I want to play a barbarian but I fear I will be bad in dialogue skill checks :(
Some guides say go for high int, resolve and dex and now I dont dont what class to play for dialogue
Just build the character how you want and see how things play out.
where did you get that skull on your Main character ?
