Hey, I have a question, i am trying ti make this shortcut when I am connecrin to home wifi but it doesn't work, i have to run it on my own to play, it isn't automated! Do you know why?
I have one in the Bluetooth section for when I connect my AirPods it will show a menu with three options to quickly choose like podcast, music TH-cam. When I’m in my car I use the same Bluetooth trigger so when I turn on my Bluetooth it will ask me directions to work or home. If it’s work then it will be early morning and dark so it it will also dim the brightness and then pop back into podcasts for me while it’s loading Waze directions in background. Have a few more like nfc tag on my workout bikes that opens the app for working out and music.
I just wish Apple didn't restrict the automations so much. (although I appreciate they do this for security / stability) My main automation is when I take my phone off charge to tell me the date, day / time, weather forecast, my schedule for the day, a motivational message, etc. Unfortunately I have to hit the notification (it says 'tap to respond') before this shows which means I often miss this message. Great video, it's nice to see Apple finally allowing us to customise a bit more. Watch out, next they'll be allowing us to put apps wherever we want vs auto arranging them! 😆

I noticed your Siri talks like the latest but mine sounds like the old 2010 robotic sounding version and I use the Irish female voice normally and It sounds just fine In normal situations Im using Xmax running 13.3 app and phone. I tried changing the voice within the app but they all sound like out of date robots I can’t stand waking up to that lol Any Ideas?
Wow! I made one just like yours and can't wait to hear it next morning! The only problem I have is that it works with apple apps and just a few others. E.g. I can't make my Deezer music app open when my earphones are connected, can't do anything with google calendar, and the weather app doesn't change the speed of wind to meters per second properly, so I get 1667 m/s instead of 1.667, or better yet 1.5 m/s - and you can't do anything about it. Hope they continue developing this feature because it is a great tool to make your life easier.
I tried using automations for when I arrive at work and ETA home when I leave work, I ride a motorbike a lot and having automations asking me to run or not is pretty useless. Apparently automations based on arriving or leaving a location will not work automatically
I am on the struggle bus. I'm trying to set up the ideal system of having one iPhone with two different phone numbers. One for business and one for personal. I have found I need to create a shortcut that when programmed will turn off my business cellular plan at 5 PM and turn it back on at 9 AM the next day, Monday through Friday With the additional advantage of leaving it off over the weekends. The on/off toggle, I am referring to is in Settings - Cellular - eSim. Clicking business eSim will allow me to turn this plan on and off. I have been through the shortcut, there is an option to turn this on/off. The problem is, it only allows me select which plan when the shortcut runs at 5pm daily. I would prefer it to select the business by default.

It’s clear that you can’t automatically run a location automation. Apple is too over-the-top with privacy sometimes. Fine. But I want to add an event to my calendar when I arrive at or leave work. Even though I set it to current date, If I have to press Run, it enters the time when I press RUN, not the time I actually arrived/left. Aggravating!

I set up my automation to go off every morning at 7am. If I play it from the shortcuts app on my iPhone 11, it plays fine. Doesn’t go off automatically in the morning. What gives? And, it doesn’t show up on my shortcuts.
I'm on iOS 12 with an iPhone 7+ and have not updated to iOS 13 but would love to even just solely for the automated shortcuts! My only question is, given the fact that the shortcuts can be automated, does that end up killing the battery life? Hi, I’ve tried and failed to set an auto lock timer. I have a nine mapping device on my van where I need the control screen on all the time. I have to turn auto lock off but would like to set a timer at the same point to turn it back on again after say two hours as I forget . Any ideas please.?

You can start playing the playlist through Siri so I was thinking to try to do an automation with Siri somehow but I’m not sure. Also is there a way to automate shortcuts you made
its not automation at all where you have to set up so many steps and then it also doesnt really work, plus u still have to click.. with android everything is automated, just have to put it your home location and work location, it automatically does what you want, like turning wifi on off etc.. forget ios for productivity, use it for something else like camera and video editing..

How do you use Google Maps shortcut to get directions to a certain place every morning or at a set time every week? The “Get directions” shortcut just seems to prompt me to manually type in the address which is not an automation imo. Very useful video. When scheduling a daily text message in automations, am I using the "recipients" time zone or my time zone.

It’s so annoying have to press on the notification and pressing run. That’s the whole point in automation.
You don’t have to press run unless you press it from the NC. Only have to click the notification

MMANIA WORLD change the system language to UK English
In the pronunciation settings add a phrase substitution. You can add °F to be spoken as degrees.

Once I say it to Siri, it invokes the script. It’s that simple. Haven’t tried complicated shortcuts yet though.

Do you think it’s possible to send a text message to someone if the Alarm Clock Snooze is NOT turned off? It would be a great safety automation for living alone elderly people.

You can download a better Siri voice and select it while creating a shortcut . The default one is robotic.

AquarianRose _01 Go to Settings>accessibility > spoken content>voices . Download any good one from there and then choose that one while creating shortcuts

hey i just wanted to ask if you have any idea how to make a text replacement for current date thru the shortcut app or without it. I really want to log date every day for example i type “tt” and replaces it with 27.02.2022. Is that possible and if yes can you help me with that :)

Great video. It's got me thinking. I'm trying to create an automation for the Amazon Flex App. I can get the app to open without a problem. Is it possible to navigate to a particulat menu item within the app and then refresh the screen every specified number of seconds?
