I want this movie. I read the novel around 20 years ago and have wanted to see it ever since. I’ll definitely be ordering this soon. I have Sliver on its way so I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on that. Here’s a bit of trivia here. Madonna was inspired by this movie and the murder to write “Bad Girl” that appeared on her 1992 album Erotica. Also it may have also inspired Susanna Moore’s novel In the Cut which was later made into the Meg Ryan thriller in 2003 where a teacher has a bunch of random sexual encounters and also ends up murdered (in the book). Fantastic review as always.
Haven't hear of In the Cut, looks like it has an excellent cast in that film. Glad they changed the ending in that film. You'll probably dig Looking for Mr. Goodbar, especially if you read the book. I'm putting out a video on Sliver today.
A pretty much forgotten film. I went to see this alone, in the theater, when it was released. I was a college student at the time. Totally freaked me out. The ending was so disturbing, I could barely drive home. This is not the Diane Keaton most people think of. She is a broken person in this. The thing is - if you choose to see this movie - you cannot unsee it later. It makes an indelible impression - and not in a good way. I think seeing it at night - in a dark theater - with strangers all around - made it worse.
Thanx for the review! I hope this release contains the original music score. I guess this is what Weird Al Yankowich sings about in "Dare to be stupid"!
@@leffa1 lol, yeah Weird Also does say that “Look for Mr. Goodbar.” Is one of the things you can do if you dare to be stupid. He’s probably referring to the movie, in the film it doesn’t end well for the main character as she looks for Mr. Goodbar.
Looking For Mr. Goodbar just got you a sub! Been checking out some reviews and unboxings while I anxiously await VS to ship mine out and your the first to make me click to subscribe button.

This is one of the most underrated film channels on TH-cam. Great stuff!
Thanks for saying so! Brilliant comment 🙂

@@mxbishop thanks for sharing your experience, I bet it was a lot more unsettling in the theater. Especially if you didn’t know about the ending.

@@AKAWhatsinaname that’s awesome! Thanks for the subscribe. I subscribed to you as well…. even though you don’t have any content. 🙂
@@daverwatkins lol Thank you! It always has been a dream of mine to make videos. One day I'll just have to press record and finally just do it!
@ Hope you do, that’s how you get started.
I own this too, but it's a very hard watch and the ending destroys me so I don't know when I'm ever gonna get around to watching it again
@@keim73 that’s true, it’s a tough watch. Fascinating performances in it though.
