    Now THIS is a trailer--- however did you come across this?
    I'm 34 and have been obsessed with this film for nearly 2/3 of my life.
    First caught it after i BEGGED my mom to let me buy the VHS when it was briefly re-released in 1997 for its 20th anniversary -- total 1970s grit and the sweet, sweet music.
    Keaton is exceptional as she won her Oscar for this as much as "Annie Hall". I was also obsessed with Tuesday Weld (Oscar nominated her for Best Supporting Actress), who is now more elusive than ever.

      I've never seen the movie, but have heard a lot about it so it's on my must-see list. In fact, we recorded it off TCM in Blu-Ray 1080p quality. So it's just a matter of time before I know what all the hype is about. The broadcast included commentary by Ben Mankewicz.

      The 70s were a once in a lifetime moment in film history (as well as in general) where filmmakers actually had the power and not the studios. Artistic freedom and creativity had complete control and blossomed in a way that will most likely never happen again unfortunately. It carried on until the end of the 90s for the most part even with studios back in power starting in the early 80s but corporations gradually took over to the point of where we're at now with film. Hopefully there's a new Hollywood on the horizon that will soon emerge again.

      Agree, however, look at Wonder Woman 1984. Not the best movie, but the character is gorgeous and the stunts are impressive. The ACTOR did the running jumps off the ledge. It's GOT to be 60 feet! Harness or not, (it's not CGI) I wouldn't do it.

I know about the music rights holding it back. I always wonder if it is Donna Summer's estate holding it back or Thelma Houston's Don't leave me this way. I am a huge fan of the movie and it has a huge cult following. I just want to see it on Blu-ray before I pass away some day. Paramount Studios I hope you see this.

    Remember clearly the News Coverage of this Story that went on & on. Then died down but started up again when Rossner released Book. Then died down again until the Film triggered the Buzz once again. I read Newspaper accounts, read the Book and finally watched the Film when I was in my mid 20's & had just moved to NYC. Watching it again in my early 60's, it was easy now to see the "message & intention" of this Film. Total Propaganda.
    At the time, there were hundreds of murders in NYC and others similar, so why did the Newspapers highlight this one in particular? When they found out the contrasting Lifestyle of this Teacher, THAT was the "Big" Story, not her death. The poor Victim was exploited to fulfill some Newspapers Right Wing Agenda and it caught on becoming National News. It became a commentary on the Women's Liberation Movement and the grim consequences should you, as a woman, agree & decide to follow. What can happen to any "nice Girl" in Any Town USA when "under the influence" of the Movement.

      And what’s even more disgusting is that Roseann Quinn’s alleged promiscuity was never actually proven and based on hearsay and gossip. She most likely didn’t “sleep around” any more than most other single women her age.

    • @aniballopez2719
      @aniballopez2719 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I doubt there was right wing agenda. The story of a young teacher brutally murdered in her apartment would have been widely covered in the press regardless. The NYC press has always been sensationlistic. Their goal is to sell papers and this story clearly grab the interest of the public interest.

    I too have been semi-obsessed with this film for years. It encapsulates the 1970s perfectly in many aspects. I was fortunate enough to find a rare dvd copy as well as the glittering soundtrack on lp. I read the book and delved into researching the original case.
    Have always felt this was Diane Keaton’s best work as an actress and that THIS is the movie that should have landed her the 1977 Oscar.
    The final 10 or so minutes of the movie are among the most terrifying and effective ever, imho. This movie did for promiscuous women what Fatal Attraction did for cheating husbands. I was too young to see this movie in 77 (hard R rating), but I can only imagine the reaction of theater goers had they not known what was coming.

      Hi - just my humble opinion.. No they don't .. it would bastardize the original reason the book was written .. And any remake would be twisted and be an insult to the real - life victim . Besides , her relatives and friends might still be alive somewhere.. one film adaptation is enough .. and it would just cause more pain to her family 😱😭😭.WHY inflict more pain on those that loved her in life ?!.Plus - in this now - insane world with crime on the increase - does this world really need more kinds of copycat crimes happening like THIS ?!?😱😵🙁😖🤮 And why would anyone want to remake this nightmarish true crime tale over again ?! .. Any 'redo' will put fictional crap in - angering her spirit..💢👻😠it won't be profitable like the original . and it can never compare to the original film .. it will be inferior and sink like a stone at the box office👇🕳️. A total waste of time , money , actors time and resources.it will suck doo - doo..💩🚽👇🕳️ I SAY NO REMAKE .. Let the spirit of the real - life victim - poor Roseann Quinn - Rest In Peace🙁😔..🙏🕯️🌹💐😔. .
