5:40 the lighting/shadows - GORGEOUS!!! Seriously impressive. And I couldn't agree more on how hard it is to make stuff like this in a video, it's impossible to do every week. I think a lot of people forget that it's not fair to compare an artist on TH-cam who spends a few hours on a piece to a gallery artist who spends months. We'd be capable of more with more time
I am consistently amazed at how so many YT Artist not only create very good art, but film, edit and upload videos! How do you do it in ONE WEEK? Sometimes less??
Chloe, your art is amazing but it would be cool if you took the time to really make something you really truly love, it’s fine if you want to take a break to do it.
Yeah Mira , you always inspire me to make some art . I'm in middle school and when you were talking about how to keep pushing forward and accepting art block and bad art , it made me really happy and think about all the bad art I've made and I've wanted to throw away . This video inspired me to to make some 3d pencil sketch art . I enjoy all of your videos and you're always in such a happy and jolly mood that it picks me up sometimes . I'm looking forward o seeing that " painting on a giant canvas " video and some more vlogs !

I'm in my 50s and every once in a while I will get out my school paintings and portfolios and drawing books, it's so fun to go through. My kids Love going through my old art,my youngest ,he is 32 is also an artist, so glade one of my children picked it up.he says his best learning is from going through my skool work.
Honestly this helped me be more confident and just trust the time I put into my art. I am a very impatient person and this helped me to just take it slow and know that I won't be a Bob Ross in a week or even in a year.
This brings back so many of my own memories! Not only was I angsty as a teenager, I was weird as well. In 8th grade we had a fun assignment to "create our own dinosaur." I created a Human-osaurus, a brontosaurus with human features. I used the apricot colored crayon for the body, human hands and feet on dinosaur arms, and weirdest of all: a human face but with no ears or hair. That means no eyebrows and a hole for the ear. I named my dinosaur Shelby for some reason. I still have the sketchbook this drawing is in, as well as all my high school sketchbooks. I want to go look at them now. Thanks for making such a great video!
The beauty of art- especially plein air type painting- is how in-the-moment and focused it keeps us. Good or bad (and your art is lovely!) is how it can take us back to that moment and those feelings we had, like your self-portraits. I love that!
Thank you for sharing all of your old art. Old art can be very personal because it tells our "story". One thing is evident you have always been VERY talented. Those self portraits are amazing. I always enjoy your videos but I think this is the first time I am commenting...this is my favorite video of yours.
What a trip down memory lane! I remember so many of those and have a few of your paintings proudly hanging in my house. It was great to see all of your artwork again that I watched you create as you were growing up. Yes, I'm a proud mom and your biggest fan 💖
I’m loving the ominous music at the beginning! 😆 The footlights drawing and the angled lantern photo were super artsy! Aww why is the button nasty? 😭 This was a fun video. I really enjoyed seeing all your art, and glad to hear how proud you were of so many pieces! 😊
yes so excited for this! I'm in high school (secondary school) and an artist so I can't wait to see yours! Also since I do youtube too so your such an inspiration! - getriya
Recently started watching your channel and I love it. I’ve been doing art and various creative things my whole life but have never called myself an artist since it’s not how I make a living. But, I’m changing that now-it’s ok to call myself an artist and own it. Thanks for your positivity!
Thank you for sharing all of this, Mira. The thing you said about not being where you want to with your art was just what I needed to hear right now. I'm in my late 30s and finally made art a big part of my life again in the past few years. In HS I didn't have space in my schedule for art, and college... well, I studied Bioscience (small STEM focused university and pre-pharm), so even less time for any art at all. My health has declined and I have lost my mobility and ability to work full-time, and favorite activities, but art has come back in to fill that space. It has been so therapeutic and fun. I take as many workshops as I can. Again, thank you. You may not see this, but if you do, I sincerely thank you. I could use a mentor like you.
I've watched a hella of a lot sketchbook tours and this is definitely one of my favorites. Maybe it's the emotional baggage it contains, maybe it's the art that inspired me. Idk, I just like it a lot. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and works with us
Omg I had the same photo of Orlando Bloom printed out and I also sketched it! I wonder if I can find it now 🤔 Love seeing the old art. I need to find all of mine. I know a lot got left at my high school.
Wow, fun trip through the archives! Outstanding pieces here: 3:40 and 12:37 and 7:18 . Also, I can't get over how much this self-portrait 10:44 looks like Sarah Chalke from "Scrubs" LOL. Would love to see you finish the collab painting with Dorvan's sister! Regarding the basement flood.... ugh, been there. I learned the hard way to never put cardboard boxes containing papers or books directly on the basement or garage floor. Have them up high, even put them on cinder blocks if necessary.
Yep, same lesson learned. Everything is in plastic tubs now, and I brought a lot of things upstairs for safe keeping. Sorry you had to experience a flood too. It's definitely not fun! 💜 I need to look up this person from Scrubs because a few people have said this now! Haha!
I LOVE you’re old art!! If I drew it all now, I would LITERALLY cry! Edit: I’m so so so sorry about you’re flood. I cannot imagine losing everything like that. It must of been terrible. I’m so sorry.
I can totally relate to the flooded basement thing. I lost a lot of precious memories and a few precious keepsakes to what I referred to as our underground swimming pool. It broke my heart, but life did go on. And yes, it really wS deep enough to swim in if it weren't full of stuff and very cold. I also gotta say I love that last self portrait you held up at the end of the video, the one in the blue tank top. I don't know why, but I just find it very interesting, the colors, the pose, the all of it. Haha I really do like it..... a lot. Thank you for sharing with us.💜&✌
This video is very inspiring to see how much style has changed throughout the years. I just sorted through my high school artwork and put my favorites in sheet protectors in a zippered scrapbook portfolio to keep them safe. I did a lot of these in college. I regret not spending enough time and effort in my art back then.
Cute artwork, I loved it! I understand not liking your old drawings. I used to save all of my old art, but before I moved to Québec, I was cleaning out my storage unit in the US and I'm pretty sure I tossed all my old artwork. I was just thinking I would never need it for anything. This is before I started TH-cam and I couldn't have imagined that I would start an art and crafting TH-cam channel and actually care about art. But here I am... haha
I still have some of my old art pieces or photographs of them. Some of my stuff I left at home which, sadly, were thrown away. When my mother in law died, I got back an early piece I painted after I married her son. I'm glad it was given back so I still have it. I think your early work was really nice.
I've a tip for anyone who paints, draws... scan your work using a scanner or free phone app as a jpeg then save it to cloud storage, I recommend setting up a Google email just for the free storage that comes with it as either Google photo or Google drive. by doing this you will always have a backup of your creations, just in case of accidental damage X
Your childhood/ teen/ early adulthood... art work is super cool and lovely 😍👌👏👏 even tho you didn't go into an art college( which is not that big of a deal as I see!) , you had the art talent and most importantly the passion for it! 👌🌼 it's nice that you decided to continue drawing and becoming an artist 😊
Finish the half painting for a video for SURE! I believe that since Google does not limit your storage of videos, you should NEVER delete them! You might want to make them privet but NEVER throw them away! I have had relatives throw away my artworks "helping" my Mom clean things out and trashed my folders as useless paper! you are very lucky to have anything from your younger years!
I'd love to see you paint on the other side of that collaboration. You were so talented at that age. (Still are) I know I definitely couldn't paint or draw like that when I was in high school. I also like the unique subject matter you choose back then. It's interesting.
Mira your art is amazing like whoa and your charcoal painting is like that you printed it instead making it and please make more sketchbook videos those are my fav and please do a potrait tutorial
Thank you for sharing. Amazing pictures. I really enjoyed this video. I would love to see you paint your side of the canvas!! Please make a video it would be so interesting. Thank you.
After watching this video and the other old sketchbook tour video what i really learned was that I shouldn't destroy any art or writing piece I made just cause its looked horrible to me then. I have been trying to keep every single piece I made and so far I'm really happy I started. Even though those pieces looked pretty badish they're still a means to remember. Thanks for teaching me that 😊
