Had a great time doing this tour!
Looks like a great rig. We have an Obi Dweller.
Keep in mind folks. Anybody looking into purchasing a trailer of this type. You will have better parts accessibility through Mdc by far more than Obi in Arizona. Mdc has a warehouse in California with parts. Where Obi in Arizona is a huge hassle to deal with. I have been waiting 6 months to order a warrantied part with Obi and nothing but excuses. While I reached out to Mdc , because Obi and Mdc trailers are similar. Guess what ? Mdc has the parts and in stock. Point of the matter is. I have better luck ordering parts from a different manufacturer than the dorks I purchased through at Obi. Mdc , seems to be much more professionally ran than Obi. Love our Dweller but hate their after sale support because it is virtually non existent. Obi, rarely answers their phone along with really vague email answers. If I where to do over again with the knowledge I have. I would have purchased an Mdc...
Great job Brandon! Im a huge fan of these included annex rooms that pretty much double the living space🙌🏻
The problem with MDC trailers is the low amount of cargo weight. You take the dry weight + water/grey, you are about to go over the Gross.
Great job Brandon!!! These trailers are nice. Love the electric pop top.
Such a great a video!
Good job Brandon !!!
Enjoyed the tour
Does this have the same sway problem you outlined/videoed on the Dweller 15? In that video you moved the spare tires to the front which fixed it.
No, absolutely not. MDC has been in business for almost 20 years and has built more off road trailers than any other manufacturer. Keep in mind OBI or Dwellers have only been in business for 3 years. They are good little trailers but they don’t know how to manufacture trailers like MDC. The MDC tows great. We have towed it at 80mph with an F150.
Tragic thermostat placement, right next to the heater output? Still love the camper overall.
It seems like that would be an issue but we have not noticed it shutting off prematurely and the trailer gets to temp very nicely.
Now just need to figure out a way to ditch the bunks and make a counter space like the OBI. Love the OBI floor plan but we’re going with MDC because of the higher quality. For us couples, we don’t need the bunks! Having that extra counter space would be WAY more convenient.
The only thing higher quality about Mdc over Obi is their customer service with ordering parts. And that alone is worth their product. Mdc, obi and opus are all very similar trailers with a few different tweaks to call their own. We really like our obi. Their customer service is awful !!! With ordering parts etc... I believe that is where Mdc shines.
You are correct the service is night and day. The overall quality and attention to detail is much more superior in the MDCs as well. Many of the parts and material is better. The OBI is very good quality but the MDC is excellent quality. Obi has been around for 3 years and MDC 15+ years. They have had a lot of time to dial things in make improvements. :)
You will love the MDC.
Customer service is the whole reason we are choosing ROA! I’ve been watching you guys for almost a year now. You’ve ALWAYS been there to answer my questions on brands, models, potential mods! It’ll be worth the drive down from Wyoming when we are ready to finally get our rig!
MDC in general are specing thier US rigs with more expensive componets in the 2024 models. Are they overpriced imho maybe maybe just a little on an msrp level but is that what they are really sold for. MDC has to make a profit or they wont be around to warranty them or provide parts. If these 24 units are out of your budget wait a year and buy an older model
If you follow their videos they usually include what you’d need for a turn key camping experience. Just hook up and head to camp.
So... a couple questions.
Does the roof have a manual lift in the event that there's no power?
Also, are there any ways to secure the fold out section and lock it down. While I understand that any RV is vulnerable to a break-in, it just seems that anyone could unlatch those panels and enter the trailer without much effort and without any damage to the RV.
Thank you!
Yes, the latches at the top of the window fold-out piece can be locked with small padlocks. (I picked up one of these campers from ROA in February and love it!)
No, it needs power. Similar to a car. No battery no worky… 😊 But you can jump it just like a car.
Also, the trailer is fully functional with the top down. (Except the top bunk) so technically it would be an incredible teardrop with full bathroom/kitchen/king size bed and fully functional inside bathroom. 😊
@ShaneStauffer777
Thanks, it was more about the system failing rather than no power. Electronics suck. Technology sucks. Without mechanical backup, the technological advancements to make everything easy..."electronic everything" ...leaves you painted into a corner...if any component fails or shorts. I would've thought that Australians, of all people, would've built in mechanical redundancy.
Thanks again!

I wish someone would make a floorplan with a dry bath and no kitchen. Not a fan of cooking in a small trailer. Microwave and a fridge at most is all that is needed.
Thank you for the video. So, could you please tell us how tall you are? I'm a single female and I'm 5'4" tall. This looks great, but if you're 6' tall, I wouldn't be able to set this up without a ladder. Just something to keep in mind when you are showing how to set up the outside.
Yes, you would want a little step stool. Not a ladder. The only thing out of your reach would be the 4 clips. Every thing else’s is pretty low.
Awsome. Thanks for getting back to me.
The double kitchens seems like a real waste of space. I think this could have been done so much better.
Have you camped before? It is very nice to be able to cook inside when it is cold out. Most people love the dual option.
Love these RVS but they are way Overpriced!
What are you talking about? That is not true at all? If you don’t understand the value and quality you could say that. These trailer priced very good for what they are. If you understand the quality. You could actually say they are underpriced for what you get.
@ROAOffRoad
Agree. These MDC units seem to be extremely reasonable with their pricing when considering the construction and the amenities, and when compared to every other trailer in this niche.
These are well priced compared to the competition
