Back in he day, 20-25 years ago, this was my favorite trail. By that time I'd grown to 38" tires, which were big in hose days. This year at EJS, I ran this trail on 7.50-16 bias ply grave diggers on stock leaf springs, drove up every obstacle (went STRAIGHT up the stairs on Rocker knocker) and had more fun than ever !! A real drivers game, but super rewarding driving up all these obstacles without links, coilovers, or 40" plus tires. No, I didn't spend my day stacking rocks !! Big rigs are tons of fun, but driving this trail, Cliff hanger, and Rusty Nail in a near stock 1958 series I Land Rover was more fun than I ever had with my big rig. It's also really fun to watch different size and driver skill play a role. Expect he unexpected !! Thanks for sharing !!
Great story! Thanks for watching
That is a cool story
@@Colorado4x4 There should be some vids popping up soon, It was a super fun, intense week for my friends and I at EJS and plenty of catching up on normal daily life afterwards.
Great Wheeling, Heather. Looks like a blast. Awesome video, Jack!
Thanks Bruce!
Thanks for posting. Enjoy video this morning with a cup of coffee
Epic! Thank you
Would you do a rig walk around, I’m curious how you e made the 40’s fit so well.
Absolutely, couple people have asked now. Hang tight I'll make one 🤘
The rust wagon is crazy!!😂 (idk what it is) but I like it!
It's a Willys pickup but I wouldn't know what year it is. 50's I believe. By far the most badass rig on the trail that day 🤘
The guy at 18:16 has super strength! He just pushed you right up that ledge! Good on him for helping you out. 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Great video, this trail is on my to do list one day. Working my way up to it lol
Definitely worth it!
Apex steering booster does a decent job of helping throw the 40s around. Not a replacement for hydro but good enough to push that further down my to do list
Thanks! We have looked into this but haven't landed on a permanent solution yet to take us into the future.
I've done Pritchet many times on a dirt bike. Those rigs made it look easy!
I couldn't imagine doing it on a dirt bike!
@@ForbiddenoffroadI went down all three times! Just hang on and throttle. Haha!
@@Forbiddenoffroad For me, going backwards on a dirt bike, the hardest obstical is that last shelf before the parking lot. Going up that was tricky. Speed, hang on, then if you start to lose it, do a bike throw so it lands on top and you don't have to do it again. Haha! I did spend some good times watching the 4x4 navigate. And fix broken parts.
All 40’s?!!! Damn! I have 35’s on a TJ 4.5 R. Express lift, wonder if good for Pritchett.
Really digging The Rust Wagon!
@@michaelhodges8312 thanks! Ya it was a great time. Well... 40's Jeep Willys run Pritchett so as long as you're locked I'd say give it a go
@@Forbiddenoffroad yep, I’ll give it a try. I’m fully modified, full OX Lockers, 4.88’s, Teralow 4:1, and Mickey Thompson Baja 35’s. Dana 44 front and rear.
Enjoyed the video!
What shocks are you running with that MC lift? Are you on a 3.5" or 4.5"?
@@jeromehansmann5232 The lift I was running in this video was a levelled 3.5 JKS with their own shocks. Cheap gas shocks nothing fancy. Hope this helps
How are the 44s holding up with the 40s?
Front axle is trussed with RCV's, rear axle has Yukons with stock posi diff. Everything is running strong 🤘
@@Forbiddenoffroad Good to know, just made the jump from 38s to 40s, trussed, rcv's, dynatrac ball joints, reids, but the pinions are worrying me.
@@4lorodeo754 Im still running OEM ring and pinions and I guess we'll see 😂
Real men do Pritchett on 33s with a carburetor.
Do Pritchett Canyon on 33's and a carbed engine - Be A Man
@@Forbiddenoffroad I have, numerous times in an early Bronco.
Haha this was my exact thought. I started wheeling this in 1989 in a carbureted CJ7 with “outrageously large” 33” tires and a 3” lift. Mad it through a dozen times without damage!
@@buckswaney that's so cool! The trail definitely isn't what it was 35 years ago, now you need 40's to get through it safely and without body damage
Are you a Quincesh dad?
@@starlinggallagher8299 sorry, I have no idea what that means
Does your daughter go there I saw your car at my school
@@starlinggallagher8299 that's me
Definitely not the hardest trail there. Try “rear steer”.
You'll have to show me that one! 😉
For Sure, but I think he means "regular well known trail" I remember doing Upper Helldorado when that was considered extreme, back in the day. Like I said in my other comment on this video, I just ran his trail with a couple friends, all on 31" tall 7.50x16 tires, stock suspension, in two 1950's Land Rovers and two flat fender Willys. We had no trouble, and drove all these obstacles. Granted, we are old guys with lots of experience and our rigs are well dialled in. I love all these trails and kinda chuckle when I see buggies or truggies out here, total overkill for most of these trails.
@@timmcooper294 I meant hardest trail on the EJS roster. Rated 9/10
@@Forbiddenoffroad Totally agree ! Keep the good videos coming. There will be few coming up that show my friends and I driving our outdated iron on these trails.
