Toward the end she was SO underweight, overly made up, and fidgety. Here she looks so beautiful without all that overdone eye makeup and she's a healthy weight. Such a sad needless loss. I wish she was still here do shows, making new music and blessing the world with her voice. Rest now Amy.

Absolutely incredible voice and a beautiful woman before the drugs and alcohol destroyed her. It might be argued that her boyfriend and father made it worse (men exploiting women. Gee, there's a trope we're all familiar with, aren't we?), but in the final analysis, she went down in flames because she lost the core of who she was. It sounds facile, but if an artist can no longer mine their own talent to find art, then that artist is bankrupt, artistically, emotionally, and spiritually. We have these brilliant fragments of what she was and might have been, but we lost a great talent because MONEY was more important than her soul, her mind, and her art. I confess, I laughed at her when she began her slide into the black, but I'm ashamed of that now. I only hope that those who used her and exploited her have the courage to accept their own responsibility and feel shame too.
