    Sick 4runner man. My 2003 V8 4runner has so much more rust. Its so sad. Frame has a few holes. The front right tow hook I literally ripped off by hand. I have a horrible ticking from cracked manifold. Transmission lunges when downshifting from 2nd to 1st coming to a stop. It also has the dreaded ABS constant beep issue. I am determined to bring it back to life though.

    • @boundlessbuilt943
      @boundlessbuilt943  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Keep it alive man!!! Check your trans fluid level, my trans had demon in it for a bit after one of the trans cooler lines blew and I found that the fluid levels would drop even after a top off - I attribute this to the system “burping” and getting the air out of lines and such.

    • @SkinnySkinch
      @SkinnySkinch ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@boundlessbuilt943 I have a CEL code that is for the transmission temp sensor or something like that. I THINK that might be my culprit for the hard downshift from 2nd to 1st but I didnt think about checking the level of the fluid. I'll try that. I have to get that ABS beeping figured out first though that beep is so loud and obnoxious I cant even drive with it. I really need to get my car lift installed. Once I get that done I will really bring this 4runner back to life.

    • @boundlessbuilt943
      @boundlessbuilt943  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SkinnySkinch Sounds like a good plan to me. While your doing the lift, do a quick visual inspection of your abs sensors on the back of the hubs - your problem might be a quick fix.

    My engine is torn apart rn at a shop and I need new headers. I wanna go with the long pipe for the v8 but I’m struggling to get any information from any of the companies who sell them. So I’m curious as to who you bought them from.

    • @boundlessbuilt943
      @boundlessbuilt943  ปีที่แล้ว

      They are going strong! I bought directly from DT. New EPA regulations have screwed up all parts that touch emissions controls- EPA is threatening fines for each part listed for sale so companies are less inclined to sell them.
