I've been thinking of my mortality a lot of late and have spent some time reflecting on how much time I've got left (maybe 15 years at max; most likely 10). I'm now not much interested in doing new things that would require a lot of time or effort. I just want to enjoy my days and relaxing. That's not to say I don't stay active - I just am not going to be travelling extensively, starting a business, writing a book, or any of that sort of thing. I don't have any family other than my wife (who also has no other family) and my 'friends' are really long-time acquaintances (my real friends having died). I no longer have any patience for people that just take up my limited time and I don't much care what they think of me either. So in some ways looking at my estimated time left frees me up to just be me and enjoy myself as long as I can.

Thing is, none of us know how much time we have. Statistics in UK gives me 20 years, yet I could die tomorrow. If you were given a year to live what 10 things would you do? Then ask yourself why you need to be given a year to live to do them. Do them now. There is only this moment.

I think those are old figures (or different source). I saw the avg LE of an Australian male is 83 years (three years better than the UK). @@BrendenSharp Thank you I appreciate you.

I know exactly what you mean! As I turned sixty this July gone, and I am semi-retired, but over the last several years, I have had a lot of injuries. I used to do fifteen to seventeen mile rambles or regularly go cycling, but that has really been curtailed with said injuries.😢 Definitely get out and do things! My sister who is three years younger than me, had a stroke several years ago, but she more or less fully recovered. Still active cycling and walking. Problem is, she is quite a way away!

Thank you my brother for keeping it real. Actually in Australia the life expectancy of a male is around 81 years old. It is in United States the life expectancy of a male lowered to 73 years old. That leaves me 10 years. Actually since I have a high calicum score that will lead to a heart attack my time may be shorter. I am not afraid , but a hobby of mine playing guitar. I need to move forward. Thanks for the reminder.

It's true, time seems to accelerate as we age. Four thousand weeks - that's 76 years. That's what we get. Ish. I find it tends to focus the mind, looking at it in weeks. I've had just shy of three thousand.. Hmmm...

Thing is, none of us know how much time we have. Statistics in UK gives me 20 years, yet I could die tomorrow. If you were given a year to live what 10 things would you do? Then ask yourself why you need to be given a year to live to do them. Do them now. There is only this moment.
Hey Tim thanks for watching and leaving a comment as I do appreciate it. You made a very good point. Good luck on your own path ahead and make sure you have a great day today mate 👍
I think those are old figures (or different source). I saw the avg LE of an Australian male is 83 years (three years better than the UK). Not that it makes much difference as everyone is different, some die young, some live to over 100. Make the most of every day and every experience as you just don't know.

In Hua Hin at moment
On way back to Sydney from UK
It always appears on Top 15 lists of Retirement destinations
I can cross it off mine
Thailand not the absolute bargain it once was
I have eaten locally and also where the ex Pats go
The place is maybe bit to built up for me
But hey, May suit others perfectly
I don’t play Golf
Which many ex Pats and groups visiting do
Get yourself a list of possibilities
I’ll cross this one off
But heading to Laos and Cambodia in December
When you find the place
You’ll pretty much know straight away or within couple of days
Thanks for letting me know. I've been researching Vietnam and there's a couple of places that look pretty good.

You could earn a little here part time
Hua Hin is where wealthy Thai’s seem to go

No pun intended

Be positive, you don't have to be an average Australian. Get fit, eat right, don't smoke, don't drink alcohol or take drugs and you may add twenty years to your life even if you did dumb stuff before like smoking! Yes and get a motorcycle and ride often as it improves your mental health and if you die riding well you were having fun! I'm 69 and a mate is 92 and we both ride motorcycles.
Hey Scott thanks for watching and leaving a comment here as I do appreciate it. I've never smoked and hardly had any alcohol after I was 30 ish and have kept myself pretty fit in all that time too.
