I've played over 750 hours of mount and blade, and at least 400 were spent playing AWOIAF. This is by far the most complete, correct and in-depth video I've ever seen. Well done.
I know its an old comment but same. His guides are so comprehensive, I watched his guide on viking conquest while playing it and I was like "wow, this guy knows everything" because I have ~900 hours in viking conquest. Lol The only reason I am playing AWOIAF mod now is because he has a guide for it haha
Going Dornish culture allows you to recruit the three sand sisters for 10k each, they’re at a secret location northeast of sunspear by the coast. Each of the 3 sisters has 8 trainer, 6 pathfinding and 8 leadership. Spies are broken, you can send them to a center and sabotage a town, knocking out 90% of the garrison units in the process. On the field you can use them to skirmish enemy lord armies allowing you to catch up to them. If you play a male character marry a landed female lord. You can store or steal troops from your wife’s garrisons for free. If you’re good at horseback combat, buy a balanced great lance and a sand steed, then start soloing Robber knights near Ashford. Amazing way to power game and get insane amounts of exp and renown.
help me! I conquered the city of Lys (island in the south) and my relationship with the city and villages only gets worse, I thought it could be the religious or cultural difference, but I didn't find anything conclusive ... does anyone have any idea what it could be! ?? ?
@@guenagustini2889 same for me for storms end, but it eventually started going positive as i built every improvement possible for the city so that could be it.
@@zhabruh4682 If you're playing the latest version don't bother, they've been nerfed. You can find them randomly in taverns or recruit them through your castellan once you own a walled fief.
As "shit" as the dev is, (He hates casual play, and expects you to live on his difficulty settings) he does get quite a bit of the lore right. Units, are buffed to represent the cultures strength. Eg Westerlands, having immense heavy cav, with heavy armour. The reach being able to field cav faster, but at a slightly lower quality to Westerland. House arryn fielding immensely good but expensive knights. The north, being very infantry focused, but with flexibility into white harbour/white knife knights. The wildling troops being "shit" (they're actually pretty good stats, they just have bad equipment. But there are heaps of them as almost everyone beyond the wall knows how to fight. The tournaments bring your own gear etc. Dragonstone vassal areas doing a bit of everything. Infantry Cav and archers. arguably the best singular roster if you went to no other factions to recruit.
@@elyastoohey6621 Are you confusing the dev of A World Of Ice And Fire with the dev of A Clash Of Kings? Produno, the dev of AWOIAF, isn't like that at all, but I've heard the dev of A Clash Of Kings described like that.
So I captured the Bone guy leading a Wilding Raid. They offered me 800 Stage. Nights Watch was in a huge fight, so I joined in. We defeated Maynce, and lucky me got him as a Prisoner. 160,000 Stags. I almost shat myself.
Rewatching this because I am about to start a new playthrough, gotta say my man you have the best guides for warband to this day (and your starsector guide is just on another dimension all together) I guess I just wanted to say thank you and hope that one day you revisit warband in some form !
Brother I have to say these are not just excellent guides but incredible introductions to the mods themselves for anyone wondering if they want to play. I've had the game for a while but only got so far before restarting, until I discovered your channel. This is incredibly detailed but very easy to follow. Your guides are some of the few I've actually taken notes on. Keep it up and thanks for all the time and effort.
I recommend to NOT lower the difficulty settings. It will be tough at nails at first but it will give you that gritty dangerous atmosphere, the author tried to convey. After you conquer a kingdom for yourself the feeling of achievement is not comparable to any other mod I played.
@@arealaccountforsure5367 This is a big mod that would take a lot of time to go through even on casual settings and i had too many mods having bugs that made me unable to continue playing. Loosing 100h on something that cannot be finished and blueballing myself just to play it "the right" way is not something i plan to do.
I found a great way to get full rep with the nights watch really easy, might call it an exploit but meh, whatever. Put up your settlement close to Castle black, then go out and farm prisoners and just dump them in your settlement. Then you take them out one by one and sell them to the nights watch, and you will get 1 rep each time. Takes a bit back and forth running, but still ^^
Just finished ploughing through your warband guides for the mods I play. Thanks so much for making these Rev, wish these kind of resources had been available back when the game was new. Used to be half an hours deep diving forums just to find details on native, nevermind the various modded worlds. I also discovered some excellent mods that had been released since I stopped playing. A great service you have done us!
I know this is 4 months old but this video is fantastic . Thankyou for taking such a large chunk out of your day to make this video it’s fantastic and greatly appreciated
Protip about enlisting in lord's army is very accurate. Here's another: - set your M&B to start windowed (Launcher -> Configure -> Video). - enlist in lord's army. - Alt + Tab and do some other things. From time to time check if you have to "follow commander into battle" or it's promotion time. - after couple of hours profit. Thank you for this guide, very helpful and detailed. Currently starting walkthrough on 6.2 version. I remember how I started on older version and my ass was handed to me. Not anymore.
This is more useful in Baratheon, Tyrrels and Riverlands campaigns, as they don't go into the sea as much. Lannisters, greyjoys and, most of all, dragonstone campaigns where you do that are just too boring.
Just some advice on character creation. Religion is REALLY important. If you follow the same religion as the town you are able to recruit from there. So if you want westerosi soldiers choose fath of the seven, ironborn follow the drowned god, north/freefolk follow the old gods and most of essos follow the lord of light. You can convert in game but it took me a while to figure out that it was religion that was effecting recruitment.
I just wanna thank you for this guide, it's amazing!!! This is the best mod for warband and probably the best game of thrones game we will ever get and you just made it a lot more enjoyable for me. *THANK YOU!*
Wonderful, well put together guide. When I enjoy taking notes on it because I know how much it'll help me, that means you did a good job. nice work dude
In my currend AWOIAF Play, I decided to take the Path of the Hedge Knight. Lord Retainer, Retainer etc. A nice thing it is indeed. Persuasion is good when the castle / town is NOT defended by a LORD. If it's defended by a soldier, then persuasion works in order to force him to surrender. This is what I have experienced.
Cealalta sabie o are Barristan Selmy. Lui pot sa-i dau asa o sabie. Nu m-am facut înca vasal si sunt înca mercenar, dar ma gândesc sa ma duc la zid si sa iau mantia neagra. Dupa aiia am intentia sa-i termin pe salbatici. Acuma astept veste de la Jon Snow ca sa ma trimita la Craster's Keep si o sa primesc otel valyrian de la el pentru o sabie care o s-o da Briennei. ADOR modificatia asta.
Very good guide just some things I want to mention.. The effect of your Natural Leader skill is based on your Charisma and leadership, so thats something to think about. The higher it is the more you heal your troops. (The effect of the Warrior skill is based on your strength as far as I know) Also I recommend especially for players who are not so good at combat to put some points into ironflesh because Armor in this mod is basically paper except the very heavy ones which I for example avoid because of the huge skill malus they give your character.
I cannot thank you enough for this guide, money was the biggest issue of them all. This mod has so much Potential and i love it, Now that I can Finally PLAY it :) You are the king of Mount and Blade Guides
Good work on this one! Still can't believe i watched the entire 3 hours, but it had a few very useful tips :) Can't agree with the "best cavalry" part though. As important as armor for the horse is, for me lance is (if not more) just as important. A full speed lance charge kills in just a few seconds like half the enemies facing it! Works wonders on the morale of whoever remains alive lol So having no lance kinda ruins the vale knights, that sword can't really compensate. Another, and imho the actual best knight is... the robber knight! Can get those here and there, mostly by recruiting prisoners in other parties you destroy, but can also be trained from (if i remember correctly) outlaws - thieves - brigands - robber knights. Decent horse, good armor, great skills, and lance! Also, the North horses have low armor, but good hit points, so compared to, say Riverlands, they have the edge. Not as good as the Westerlands and the Reach though, those two are my early choice horsemen as well :) Robber Knights rule though! :D
I can confirm this. Just found Dawn in a chest behind a house by that big round tower. The chest was covered by some bushes and I'd never found it unless I read this comment. So thank you!
Had to restart the game. If you join the nights watch before Jon snow becomes the lord commander (i joined Jeor mormonts army) you will get stuck at serving a lord that doesent exist, and i cant desert or ask for leave :P
i didnt do the big quest line because i failed the one for rob stark a few time so decided to focus on getting more moeny and a army because each raider party kicked my ass, however I conquered kingslanding and send prob around 10 lords of the westerlands to the wall. the nightswatch slayed each wildling bc of that… so im around day 400 and jeor is still commander and, they have thw hole north of the wall area and each of the 2+/- lord has 400+ troops so… Do you think I can still do the main questline? because I didnt do any mission with jon snow etc. ( btw jeor dont give me any option to join the nights watch )?
Riverland Salt for Sub-50. North Fur for Sub-50 (and Timber). Dragonstone Ore for Sub-50. You buy them until it costs 100-150 a Unit. Sell for 400+. You can also go over to the West for more Ore, but I have a nice little Sea Trade between White Harbor, Dragonstone and Maindenpool, where I then Land Travel to Saltpans and Harroway's for the Salt. Early Game you just run Fur and Salt back and forth until you can safely go by Sea. Also, Cattle. Once the price drops (if the price drops, doesn't seem to do that all the time) you can make a killing of killing Cattle. I've had this happen Day 2, and I've had this seem to not happen at all. Very hit or miss. Then I take my Profits as I go along, and put a Business in every City. Residual Income, fueling my Army Upkeep.
You can also get Red Priests in Essos, and upgrade them to Fireborn which have war bows and fire arrows. This is an unreliable way of getting troops against white walkers since you need to recruit Red Priests that have been made prisoner, but these are a cheap horse archer unit that looks amazing on paper (they're also pretty effective darned snipers on the field), but are unfortunatelly extremely hard to obtain in any sizeable number, and also are almost as naked in terms of armor.
@@HitPointInnGaming True, it's one of those things that you don't really know why they're there. But if you like to experiment they're a fun unit to employ. As for paper armour, well they equip priest robes so :D
There is also a workaround for losing troops to stupid events in siege. As soon as you start a siege and build sanitation and start clearing the ground, go to camp and select fortify. Once you have do so once you exit you can select the report menu and build troop quarters. Put all your troops in the quarters, then the only losses you will take is your companions. Right before you are to actually attack get them back out and the only troops you will lose is when you are actually fighting!!!! Tip to free up the map from the siege just select the camp option once you close it you can select anything!!
@@HitPointInnGaming Just did it again it still works on my end. Order of actions: Start siege, build sanitation, start clearing ground and building equipment. Then go to camp menu you do not have to select anything but leave there by selecting Resume Travelling. Once you are back on main game screen do not move just select reports on the bottom and go to troop quarters. Put all troops in there if you are attacked by army they will reinforce you. Next day send in the vanguard all your companions will be wounded but nothing else. Now get out of siege menu by the camp option again and you will see your troop quarters on main map go there it should be close enough that it will not stop the siege. "once it was to far for me I just redid it". Get all your troops back then click on castle and attack!! Lemme know if this helps.
@@jamesclark1664 Alright. I will try it again. Still feels like an exploit to dodge the siege mechanic though. Usually, with the siege mechanic, I recommend people to build the sanitation and then go directly for asault ladders and just take the vanguard hit. Make the siege end as soon as possible.
Hey man thank you so much for the guide. My saved file which i worked on for almost a month got corrupted and i don't know where to start anymore. I feel like quitting but that just sucks. Glad i found this Tutorial and gave me motivation to start grinding again.Thank you.
One cool thing in 8.2, they made all troop trees' elite troops carry either V steel or obsidian weapons, so no more dependency on the Night's watch. Also, all companions, retain their stats, BUT are now all are set to level 1. Once you get companions with training, they level up pretty well, but else, damn is it hard to level up in this mod...
this is a good in depth guide, but it would be good to make a 15 min or so one as well. Just a crash course so people can jump in without being overwhelmed. Keep in mind that some people will play this mod without playing the base game. Those people, for example, can start with the short explanation and then jump back on this one after they got their feet wet.
I just found a (relatively) easy way to get XP with lower level troops. Just patrol the lands around the Wall and fight small groups of Northern Clansmen. They have one or two Champion units per army (tankier units with a two-handed greatsword) but they all have weak armour, no shields and they use blunt weapons. As such, with only a few points into surgery, I've had battles where I've had 20+ wounded and no deaths meaning you can level up your troops without a high risk of them dying. They do often have a few slingers, which may roughen you up a bit if you have no units with shields or any cavalry to hunt them down, but they are probably the easiest bandit parties to deal with in this mod. Another added bonus is that, since you are never more than a day's ride from Castle Black, you can easily travel back to the Wall after every battle to sell the prisoners to the Night's Watch for some easy cash and reputation. There's another tactic which I'd think would almost be considered an exploit. If you want to fight Robber Knights or other high-tier mounted bandits for high level loot and prisoners, but you aren't ready to face their deadly cavalry charges with your army of mid-tier foot soldiers, lead them out to sea. If they follow you out to sea and engage you on the water, they'll all be dismounted and you can just gang up on them with sheer numbers of weaker troops to overpower them. An added bonus is that, sometimes, they can't even board your ship so you can just snipe them with a bow or long lance and whittle them down that way.
dude I've beaten floris (1000+ days) & pendor (2000+ days)at their highest difficulty without any single cheat coz your insane detail videos about them, n now, i'll play this mod. `i didn't even use any knight order in pendor dude... feels like i have a pendor PhD after watching ur vids
You think there isn't much of a difference between the HBO show and the books? That's completely wrong. If you choose the show then Daenerys will lead the Targaryens and she will bring Dothraki troops and she will instantly take Dragonstone no matter who holds it (and all the troops and prisoners in the Castle). If you choose the books then Aegon Targaryen returns and they take Griffon's Roost instantly and they field Golden Company troops as well as House Targaryen troops. They are much better equipped for field battles than the Dothraki. Dany doesn't bring Dragons and Aegon doesn't bring elephants (even though they are in the books but maybe didn't make it to Westeros). If you choose Static Wars you can turn it off later. This allows for special events to happen that happen in the show/books but later when the game catches up to the last season/book you can then turn Static Wars off. You can be a Northman and get the wolf but the wolf is annoying. Of course you can be any other faction and still get a dog. It's basically the same thing only you aren't stuck with Northern troop trees. The faction you choose is important though. It will change your starting relations with other factions and when you start your own faction it will allow you to produce troops from your origin faction even if you don't hold land in that area. For this reason it's a really bad idea to choose Free Folk. Their troops are garbage. Also, you can capture giants and recruit them. They are fun but not really OP. Beware of a bug that forces your lords to field troops from the territories they own. If you take the Wildling territories then your lords will produce Wildling troops even if your faction culture is different. Maybe they have fixed this. I haven't played in a bit. This won't matter much if you let them auto-resolve battles. If you join battles though you can expect high casualties. The Stormland Man at Arms is your best value and your best infantry troop tree. They have blunt weapons which means more prisoners and more high value prisoners but also the blunt weapons are short which means that in a close combat field battle using a shield wall they are going to rape everything they come against (save for Unsullied which have a shorter and faster Falchion). They are easy to get and train and they are exceptional troops for sea battles. Also, the Stormlands are easier to take over than other factions because they are usually at war with several factions for much of the game and therefore you can roll over them easy because of that. But once you build up your own forces to decent quality you will be very strong. I'd use the Stormland Archers for castle garrison because they can use fire arrows in castle defenses and instead recruit Tiger Cloak Archers for castle assaults. You can recruit them in the bars of Volantis and rescue them from bandit parties. I WOULD NOT use the elite variant because they are expensive. The TCA already have the War Bow and that is better than the longbow and easier to train them and pay them. I wouldn't bother using archers in field battles. Just split units of infantry and split units of horse. A very underrated archer is the Reach Longbowmen. They already have the longbow and that's a very good bow. They are affordable, easy to train, and expendable. They are easier to get than the Tiger Cloaks and you can capture or liberate them easier as well. One thing he's not mentioning is the importance of equipment of lower tier troops. Many of the archer classes have crappy bows until they get to the top tier. Some only have daggers. This changes the value of the troop tree because those troops are more likely to be killed which will add to the total cost of training up those troops. The Riverlands don't get the long bow until the final tier, but the Reach get it at the third (and only ) tier. That makes the Reach Longbowmen a better value and since they will be firing mostly into large bodies of troops you won't notice the difference in skills. Braavos has the best archer--the Faceless Men. They cost 10,000 stags to train just one, but you can get a lot for free by using Stormland troops to take their city. Just charge your troops up and bash them on the head and capture them and recruit them into your army. I think there are 30 in the city. That's 300,000 stags worth of troops just for taking the city. You don't even have to keep the city. Sack it and move on. Braavos will be wrecked as a faction but it's worth it to get those archers. Valaryen weapons are NOT the only weapons that can kill White Walkers. You can also use Obsidian weapons as well. You can buy them in Thenn and Frostfang's camp and some quests give you Obsidian weapons and some tournaments give you obsidian arrows. Also, the stormland bowmen have fire arrows. Those will work on WW. Yes, the Unsullied are the best infantry troop. They have spears, they have short falchions for close combat and they have throwing weapons. You are WRONG about coming up with the money. Qohor pays about 1000 stags for one cow hide and over 200 for meat. You can buy cows and bring them to Qohor and Volantis and sell them for a lot of money and also the Dothraki are easy to kill and they will sell for a lot of money as well. Best of all is that Unsullied require no wages, they never desert, and they boost your army's morale just by being in the army. You can recruit them early in the game and save them for later and pay no wages the whole time. They are very good in battle especially in a shield wall and the next tier gets an armor upgrade. Further, it will cost you more money to train up a Northern Spearman plus pay his wages than it will cost to buy an Unsullied. You can have 500 unsullied and the cost will be 750,000 stags and never a penny more after that. The Northern Spearman or any of the tier 4 infantry units will cost you nearly as much and you'll have to pay wages and suffer casualties to get them to that level. Then you have to keep paying them wages until they die or you disband them. Unsullied are the absolute best value and literally the cheapest unit in the game over time. I'm also going to disagree with you about best mounted unit. It's the Stormland house Knight. The horse is important but in large numbers it doesn't make much difference. All the horses are fragile in AWOIAF and even the plated horse die easy PLUS they are slower. The SHK has blunt weapons and they will get in close horse combat with other units and once they get in close their blunt weapons do terrific damage, but the longer swords of other knights do less damage because they are more likely to strike for 0 damage because they are too close. Most importantly is you take more prisoners with Stormland troops but you kill more with other bladed knights. Also, look at the troop tree building up to the Reach Knight. Those lower troops are garbage. The 3rd tier horse has no shield and is fodder if not in large numbers. But the Stormland troops become competent at the militia (tier 2) level and they are safer in the shield wall with higher tier infantry. As a faction, Stormlands are the best troops. Best infantry, best horse, and decent archers for castle defense because they can light their fire arrows and burn the enemy. And once again, the Night's Watch are not the only archers that can harm WW. Stormland archers carry fire arrows as well. They can do the job. I agree that the Dog Cudgel is the best weapon in the early game and the late game. It is sold in shops (Volantis) but is very rare. It is less rare with the traveling merchant. You can find him in any bar in Westeros. Also, the Long Bladed Spear is a great spear weapon. It's 1 hand 2 hand and can be used on horse or on foot like a two handed sword. High damage, high speed, good reach. Best non-blunt weapon. You absolutely can be attacked on water. If you hire a ship you are safe, but if you own a ship you can be attacked by any random raiders or factions that are at war with you.
I see :D Thank you for clarifying between the HBO show and the books! Really appreciate it man. I knew that Aegon will be leading the troops if you choose the books, but I didn't know it was a different location and different troops. Thanks again!
You've really put a lot of effort into letting us know about your past experience with Awoiaf :) Thank you! Here is my feedback: Good idea about turning the Static Wars off after the scripted events and about mentioning your character starting culture. It is correct that your player characters origin will be the chosen culture for your faction. Wolves and dogs are pretty useless in combat, I agree. Useful only for role-playing. Interesting ideas regarding the Stormland units. I will have to give them another look, but sadly, I disagree with you on their archers. They come equipped with Bodkin Arrows, not with Obsidian, nor fire arrows. Good idea for utilizing them as garrisoned troops though.I will also have to further test Stormlands Infantry and Unsullied. They really sound amazing. It does seem like you have a fixation with the Stormlands faction, but you made sound arguments in their defense. I do recommend that you give the troop trees another look in 4.1. Some other things, besides the lack of Obsidian or Fire Arrows might have changed. Also, you are correct. NW are not the only archers that can harm White Walkers. Apparently there are Red Priest units from Essos that come equipped with Fire Arrows as well. You can find them in prisoner trains. They might be a house guard of some city. I'm not 100% sure. Also, there seems to be change with Also, thank you for mentioning the cow slaughter trick. Forgot to mention it in the Guide. I knew about it, but it just slipped my mind at the time. Hard to remember everything in such a long video. Was suppose to mention that in the How To Make Money section. It is a good early game way of making some quick money fast. Sadly, with each cow meat and hide that you sell, you receive diminishing returns. I recommend that you keep it 5 cows sold per city to maximize profit. Regarding the attacks on water. Of course you can be attacked, but if you have a decent army size, the bandits/raiders/pirates will stay away from you. They usually come in 30-40 party sizes. The only real danger on sea is, as you also mentioned, from factions that you are at war with. I still recommend that you do not wage your battles on water, since they are still quite buggy. Phew... Glad to see that you have such passion for this mod. It is an awesome one! Again thank you for your feedback for the guide and all the additional tips that you provided us.
@@tsmith8082 I verified in-game and in the troop tree, the stormlands bowmen come equipped with Bodkin arrows. To they equip fire arrows automatically in fights against White Walkers? Also, I'll keep in mind adding more spearmen to the infantry squad. I have to admit, in my playthrough I've neglected spearmen.
@@HitPointInnGaming I honestly dozed off after the 5th line of the initial comment, you are truly disciplined to have gone through all of it, not to mention the extensive and diplomatic response as well. Hell, I'm from Romania, and trust me mate, your balanced response towards this fairly aggressive comment is leagues beyond what our politicians can muster. Thanks for the guide!
Giving Speeches in towns can boost your Renown and Right to Rule, i believe that is based off persuasion and/or entertainment. You can do this once a week per town. It seems to be about a 10% chance per point to get Right to Rule, but I am not sure which attribute gives Right to Rule (entertainment or persuasion as I have both at 2). Singing in towns can generate some coin but can also raise your Bardic Reputation. This last one will ask what difficulty of song you will attempt to sing and so far doesn't seem super useful, but my Character can only perform simple and mediocre songs and has very little Bardic Reputation so I do not know how well this can scale with better stats or how this translates into other forms of game play later. Would be funny to become the Beggar Bard King, and overthrow kingdoms with song and revolt!
@@HitPointInnGaming I cleaned up my original post with a few other bits that I also experimented with, so now I will clean up my string of micro comments that just looks messy.
@@HitPointInnGaming I would also like you to add this little point about Super-Duper-Horrible-Framerate drops during combat that some people seem to have (Could get as bad as 5 to 10 seconds PER FRAME). I did have this problem and this fix corrected it: aworldoficeandfire.co.uk/Forums/index.php?topic=33915.0 Open your Documents and find the \Mount&Blade Warband gl_config.txt file and open it. About the third line of text down there is a line that lists the render_buffer_size = 15, I changed mine to render_buffer_size = 1000. Save file then start the game. Much better, the guide above said that there might be an as-of-yet-undiscovered "ideal value" to put there but so far 1000 works for me, but 10000 and the game wouldn't start for me, hmmm. My PC could handle 350 troops in some castle sieges, but could have frame rate seizures on a 2v2 arena round. There is just one or two certain effects that seems to affect certain people. Yes, HDR was turned off, and this happened with all settings turned to absolute minimum. Now I run on max, and don't have an issue.
Religion is used to determine what villages you can recruit from. It's very important to choose. If you choose the seven its the bottom half of the map. If you choose old gods its the north and free folk. If you choose light is all of essos
I don't know but I find it hard recruiting villages, sometimes I don't even get an option to recruit them 4.1. I mostly can only recruit from villages with the same religion as me. Anyone got tips?
A lot of people seem to have that issue. You have to talk with the village Elder directly, when the option of Hiring doesn't appear from the village menu. The Elder should have the option of hiring new recruits.
I think i have found the reason why, though i haven't tested it... In the "Character" screen, you can see the part about "Commoners' trust". Perhaps this determines your ability to recruit volunteers?
HB1002 I’ve heard that if you choose a character background from Essos you won’t be able to recruit from Westeros towns. I found that I can’t recruit from any towns, and I chose volantian, so it checks out. I’m curious about the commoner trust stat, but I don’t know what to do to raise it
I got a companion called Kurlekut after traveling some time. It was either ignore him, give him money, or offer him a spot on your army and I chose that option of recruiting him as a companion! Unfortunately, the guy’s basically a blank slate. He doesn’t quarrel with the others surprisingly.
@@HitPointInnGaming ye i know, i meant it more as a "gawd daym this mod es extensive if u can stretch it to a 3 hour guide video" ;) Looking forward to a playthrough if you decide to do one ^^

Is this guide still viable today? Edit: So the companions no longer like each other for some reason in my playthrough. I’ve had to let the Mad Mouse, the Penniless, and Thoros go. I have found the Dog Cudgel from the Travelling Merchant. Should probably save scum or pray that you get a good purchase. Other than that, everything sounds good. Edit 2: So during my playthrough, I joined up with a faction (the Vale) with the express intention to get married to a Lady. Marriage didn’t give me any Right to Rule, but I suppose it’s still worth having your wife become Prime Minister rather than waste a companion in it. Speaking of which, I couldn’t break from my vassalage with the Vale for some reason. I took all of the Free Folk territory and ask they all be mine, and I wasn’t given any territory, but I still couldn’t rebel. I decided to pull all my troops from my fiefs and castles (I was able to field as many as 700+ troops at once at some point), and used them to take back my old castles. When I took Thenn, I couldn’t find out where to recruit Thenn Champions. I had assumed that it functioned like hiring Gold Cloaks from Kings Landing. I also had trouble finding out how to send captured Lords to the Wall. And I’m having trouble recruiting Lords to my faction. Right now, I only have Podrick as my vassal. Another confusing thing is that my fiefs and towns always have negative attitude towards me, and I have no idea why. On the side note: I noticed that you said the Unsullied were the best troops in the game, but were way too expensive to purchase. I had assumed that you meant it was 75k silver stags for *one* Unsullied soldier. However, I noticed that it was 75k silver stags for 50 men, which amounts to 1500 silver per Unsullied, which is a far cry better than recruiting Stormland or Dragonstone infantry and turning them into House Guard or Northern spearmen. Their only problem is how squishy they are in combat, in my opinion. For now, I have them defending my castles, since they cost no wages.
A lot of people have this problem. Some say that other lords already passed through the village and recruited before you. Some say you need more honor or renown. Also check if you already have a full army. Also speak with the village elder and see if he can arrange some villagers to you.
Hey, kinda late but I am playing this mod, you didn't talk about Kingdom management. I mean it is kinda redundant but this mod give you a whooping -30 relations when you siege a castle. This means getting lords is much harder since Good Nat/Upst won't leave their liege if they have a castle usually, and taking their castle will make them almost at 0 relation with you.
Only reliable way to get good lords is to completely conquer a kingdom then wait for the lords to defect, or you can also turn companions into vassals, i suggest stacking 4 banners so they can get +4 leadership, before you turn them into vassals.
Conquering Thenn doesnt give you access to Thenn champions, unless you worship old gods. Obsidian troops from Dragonstone work, but each wight party is thousands strong. Even owning KL doesnt work, stuffing the NW with lords they just sit in castle black. NK and wight party end up in the riverlands. Only way to beat em is to use morghs editor to give every troop type obsidian then call your banners and fight them with equal numbers. The WW invasion is broken, you essentially have to reprogram tge mod to beat it.
you can in fact win the first battle and instead of getting beaten up you escape the fight but still end up in the same room so winning it or not really adds nothing
@@HitPointInnGaming Just wait out or very carefully help your team. When there's only hostiles left, shoot down their horses and let them chase you, break their shields and shoot them down. Works at least for me in most cases.
Also, I do my Trade Runs with just me. I start the game as 1 Player, decline the Quest at the start, and take my merry self right to Trading to get started. I don't start Recruiting (incurring Costs) until I'm stacking major.
If anybody wants a quick way of getting the 12 skilled braavos, do this: 1. Get a ship and about 50 tier 3 stormlands blunt infantry and wait outside braavos until a caravan ship spawns. 2. Attack it and take the 12 Skilled Braavos prisoner. Varys accepts the quests even if they are prisoners in your party. You can pay for peace with Braavos after for about 1980 stags.
@@muctebabeyhan3180 Well... if you marry a lady that is also an active vassal with an army, then you will have access to her garrison troops. So keep an eye out for one of those. If there are no lady warriors, then usually it is a good idea to marry one that has a lot of relatives.
I just started a new playtrough in this mod and I am not sure how horses/donkeys in inventory works in this or any mod. Can you explain me this please?
Don't know if this gets mentioned either later in the video or in a more recent video but your nationality also defines what you can recruit from villages under your faction. This has only effected the village that you get for rebuilding the castle in essos so far i've seen so I don't know if other villages will keep their original levy or take yours
2 things what I do diffrent and still works for me 1 shieldwall I use 2 seprate shieldwalls infanitry and spearmen cus for me having 2 shieldwalls is rilly good cus when enemy attacks yours 1 shieldwall that will hold inaugh for your second to attack flank or bosibly back and for artchers I use smth like 20 cavalry for that strategy to work you need close to 250 troops to have good amonut of everything and another thing is siege I myself starw them to death and make them surrender or make them to do last resolve ( dosent work so good in big citys cus that have too mutch food ) or just take my time and then smash them whit numbers (edit) you can control somewhat those rmg moments but it is rilly small and somereason I dont get them so often for me to luse more than 20 men I myself wont be in battle mutch I do in field use horse to pick some single troops out cus I like to be more like strategy person than battle person but it just works for me

If you do the main quest you can get the valerian sword associated with the quest without 600 renown. You have to choose the option regarding the lord commander. Not the valerian rumor option.

The thing about Dorne being so difficult to conquer makes sense lore-wise.
According to the books they were the only ones Aegon couldnt conquer

Protip about enlisting in lord's army is very accurate. Here's another:
- set your M&B to start windowed (Launcher -> Configure -> Video).

Very good guide just some things I want to mention..
The effect of your Natural Leader skill is based on your Charisma and leadership, so thats something to think about. The higher it is the more you heal your troops. (The effect of the Warrior skill is based on your strength as far as I know)
Also I recommend especially for players who are not so good at combat to put some points into ironflesh because Armor in this mod is basically paper except the very heavy ones which I for example avoid because of the huge skill malus they give your character.
I cannot thank you enough for this guide, money was the biggest issue of them all.
This mod has so much Potential and i love it, Now that I can Finally PLAY it :)
You are the king of Mount and Blade Guides
Good work on this one! Still can't believe i watched the entire 3 hours, but it had a few very useful tips :)
Can't agree with the "best cavalry" part though. As important as armor for the horse is, for me lance is (if not more) just as important. A full speed lance charge kills in just a few seconds like half the enemies facing it! Works wonders on the morale of whoever remains alive lol
So having no lance kinda ruins the vale knights, that sword can't really compensate.
Good tips. Thank you for sharing :D

Dawn has been changed, you have to get it by owning Starfall and walking around the castle to find it in a chest.
Which is kinda logical because in the lore Dayne's only give Dawn to accomplished swordsmen and they gain the title "Sword of the morning".
I can confirm this. Just found Dawn in a chest behind a house by that big round tower. The chest was covered by some bushes and I'd never found it unless I read this comment. So thank you!

Good to know that there are Red Priests in Essos with Fire Arrows, but the fact that they have paper armor really is quite the drawback.

I tried that, and I could not replicate it. I think that exploit got fixed.

Amazing guide. watched it for the third time i guess lol. much love
This is just modded Mount and Blade: Warband, and it's fucking epic.

Here is my feedback:
Good idea about turning the Static Wars off after the scripted events and about mentioning your character starting culture.
Also, there seems to be change with
Also, thank you for mentioning the cow slaughter trick.
@@arzee91 Gotta do what I gotta do. Thanks for the compliment! I am aware of the status of our country. :D
Interesting! I did not know that :D
I did have this problem and this fix corrected it: aworldoficeandfire.co.uk/Forums/index.php?topic=33915.0
Open your Documents and find the \Mount&Blade Warband
gl_config.txt file and open it.
I need you to make a new guide here my man, your the best at it.
I fucking love this game man

I've been stuck on this mod for a while now. Thanks for the guide!
No problem man, hope it helps :D
Religion is used to determine what villages you can recruit from. It's very important to choose. If you choose the seven its the bottom half of the map. If you choose old gods its the north and free folk. If you choose light is all of essos
I havent read the books yet. Shame... Good guide tho just started playing the mod myself
I don't know but I find it hard recruiting villages, sometimes I don't even get an option to recruit them 4.1. I mostly can only recruit from villages with the same religion
as me. Anyone got tips?
A lot of people seem to have that issue. You have to talk with the village Elder directly, when the option of Hiring doesn't appear from the village menu. The Elder should have the option of hiring new recruits.
@@HitPointInnGaming Still encountering it, I don't even have the option to bribe the villager either.
I think i have found the reason why, though i haven't tested it... In the "Character" screen, you can see the part about "Commoners' trust". Perhaps this determines your ability to recruit volunteers?
@@JerichoJulius0 I also read that the race you choose affects the villages you can recruit from as well.
Thanks for the guide as always!

Next kingdom managment guide 🙏
You're doin the lords work, ser.
For some reason I can only recruit in a few villages? Help please
A lot of people have this problem. Some say that other lords already passed through the village and recruited before you. Some say you need more honor or renown. Also check if you already have a full army. Also speak with the village elder and see if he can arrange some villagers to you.
Thanks so much for the awesome guide!
Nice guide! Helped me a lot:)
Extremely helpful. Thank you!
No problem, my dude :D
Wow nice work, thank you
No problem, my man.
Perfectly described charge animation, made my day - thank you!
Does it give you more rogues to train into night watch if you donate it?
@@sdfdsdfd1227 far as I can remember selling prisoner stacks to NW recruiters in your cities puts recruits into garrison
Great guide, thanks for the info
you can in fact win the first battle and instead of getting beaten up you escape the fight but still end up in the same room so winning it or not really adds nothing
Indeed. Others have already confirmed this in the comment section.
Man help me, the lords of my game dont use complex formations, they use vanila mount blade formations.
best guide ever thx really i play this for a few hours and even whit cheat engine i was getting a beating until this guide

If anybody wants a quick way of getting the 12 skilled braavos, do this:

@@HitPointInnGaming a small question. Do you have any suggestions for marriage? Which lady is better? Is it matter?
@@muctebabeyhan3180 Well... if you marry a lady that is also an active vassal with an army, then you will have access to her garrison troops. So keep an eye out for one of those. If there are no lady warriors, then usually it is a good idea to marry one that has a lot of relatives.

If you win the start scene (I used cheats) you get some text saying that you hid in a haystack or something and then you're found by the start dude
Killed 20 men. Since there were no witnesses left alive, you definitely hid in a haystack. Makes total sense!
Don't know if this gets mentioned either later in the video or in a more recent video but your nationality also defines what you can recruit from villages under your faction. This has only effected the village that you get for rebuilding the castle in essos so far i've seen so I don't know if other villages will keep their original levy or take yours
Yep. Soldiers recruited will be of your nationality.

2 things what I do diffrent and still works for me
1 shieldwall I use 2 seprate shieldwalls infanitry and spearmen cus for me having 2 shieldwalls is rilly good cus when enemy attacks yours 1 shieldwall that will hold inaugh for your second to attack flank or bosibly back and for artchers I use smth like 20 cavalry
for that strategy to work you need close to 250 troops to have good amonut of everything
and another thing is siege I myself starw them to death and make them surrender or make them to do last resolve ( dosent work so good in big citys cus that have too mutch food )
or just take my time and then smash them whit numbers
(edit) you can control somewhat those rmg moments but it is rilly small and somereason I dont get them so often for me to luse more than 20 men
I myself wont be in battle mutch I do in field use horse to pick some single troops out cus I like to be more like strategy person than battle person
but it just works for me
