The first episode of Smash Bros Hot Takes is here! It pretty sums up the whole video, smash players don't really know much about the outside world and think these things only happen on smash when it happens everywhere, it happens at school, at work, and specially with social media
Hot take: ZeRo should start a podcast. I really enjoy his content where he speaks on issues, drama, upsets, the good and bad of the community. His gameplay is always fun to watch, but his speaking on the community is also very eye-opening.
Have you guys heard of Blast Zone? Its a smash podcast hosted over on the panda global channel with Coney, TkBreezy, and EE where they talk about current situations in the community and give their perspective sure its more from the commentary end buts it entertaining.
Zero you should start a smash podcast. You could have guests on discuss current meta and news in the community, it would be amazing. Keep up the good work bro :)
Hey Gonzales, you can throw any type of click bait my way because I know in the end, as I watch through the video, that you actually give me what I was looking for in the title. Stephen I thought his name was Gonzalo not Gonzales, at least that's what I remember from the video where he blogged his normal day routine. It was misspelled on his bike and he pointed that out in that video.
Hot take: every new character in smash is considered op at some point, because low-mid tier players are unused to their play styles and struggle to cope with them, we only see the truly op characters when high tier competitive players struggle against them
@@3.2187_Kilometres Well as far as I saw (basically leffen and his fanbase) were more like they wanted him banned due to his RNG factor. Most players knew he wasnt that good when all RNG factors were taken away. I think a better example is Ryu in smash 4. Back in the day even ZeRo thought Ryu was the best char in smash 4 (pre-bayo) because he only saw his glaring strengths without considering the glaring flaws.
Technically the best smelling tournament I went wasn't even an official tournament, we just had a 16 player tournament at a birthday party of teens lol.
Zero, your care for critical thinking is something that is incredibly valuable to get out, not just for the people within this community, but for anyone. It is exactly the kind of thinking that helps people take responsibility for their perspectives on life and find convictions in the way they've lived. It's the kind of thinking that allows for disagreements to occur, but have no one walk away with hurt feelings. But above all, it's the kind of thinking that can get you and others closer to something true, rather than just something comfortable. It's refreshing to see this kind of thinking anywhere and I really believe you should lay into it even more (maybe you're already planning to). Thanks for the video, man, and please keep it up.
ZeRo’s overall progression is beautifully admirable. I’m so amazed at the content he’s been producing lately, and this might be the best thing I’ve seen from him yet. His videos are extensive, much less click-baity, and even his English skills have improved significantly. I think it’s a combination of: 1. His decision to quit competitive smash 2. His innate and substantial increase of maturity 3. The fact that his audience is so big now that he can actually talk about what he wants to. I am beyond impressed; especially since his content was so garbage just a year ago. Keep doing what you’re doing, ZeRo. You’re an inspiration.
Thank you for being the first guy I see to not overuse all these phrases and nonsense memeing. Somebody not grinding for likes and somebody with a brain.
Wow, I genuinely have a lot more respect for you now. I love that you took this series on! Factual analysis on smash and translating it into other topics made for extremely enjoyable content about real problems! MAJOR props and can't wait to see more!

Also , Ice climbers have one of the most degenerate gameplays on just camp for the chain grab, and they will get rewarded by playing defensive and not approaching, making most of their games into time outs. Personally for me , Brawl has great match ups like Falco vs Meta Knight that can go back and forth, and a lot of the top tiers have their own special unique tech that looks amazing. Like Falco's gatling combo, Marth downthrow into down air, etc. - Smash 4 from 2015 to 2018, I would say it has amazing tournaments like Frost Bite, Civil War , 2GG Championships, and the "Sagas". Though the main problem from Smash 4 that I see is that it was incredibly whack and inconsistent, a lot of the times, the best player did not win due to a jank gimmick and also because of rage. Making storylines really inconsistent, and upsets in Smash 4 did not felt like that special. Starting from 2017, at "Smash events" like The Big House and Genesis, it began to have less players participating, and less players going to Smash 4 events. - Melee to this day, people are still bringing new things to the table, a game with no patches , with no updates, and the players are still pushing characters , match ups , and techs to it's limit. Take Zain for example, he show to everyone that Marth can beat Hungrybox puff , and that you can win stack tournaments with solo maining Marth. He even took Roy (a low tier) and won a tournament with Top 30 players in attendance. And players like Amsa and Axe can still pushed characters like Yoshi and Pikachu, showing that the game is not just "the same 4-8 characters"
Something we can all agree on about Smash is that the Smash Community is two sides of the same coin. One side are very open and accepting to other people and their opinions on Smash while the other side are absolutely toxic and someone you don’t want to hang out with.
I think the smell thing may be a gamer thing. Im pretty ok at hygiene, but i get really really nervous/jittery when im playing fighting games which makes me sweat a lot. But some people i think just don't care and idk why that is.
"Persons who neglect self-care to the point that they are negatively impacting the tournament may be asked to correct the issue in order to continue in the event." That’s an actual enforceable guideline for official Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments. How much worse can the smash community be than that?
38:08 you always get me with the background music man. Last time with gravity rush. Now with Catherine's Lamb game between male and female. And the topics you talk about..... i would love to see more of these types of videos and especially the length. Perfect to listen to while your doing something but also good to watch. This is what i would call top tier content
for the whole “gamers are awkward take” that just further proves your take on how society judges you based on interests and possessions. as someone who is more of an athlete than a gamer, but plays both sports and video games a lot, another reason gamers are awkward is because of these stereotypes being put on them
Nah, what they were referring to isn't that. This isn't a "gamers are awkward" thing, this was something a lot deeper, complicated, and part of human nature.
aww, I see you lack in critical thinking! People who don't like talking to people tend to be more likely be a weeb/gamer, stereotypes have nothing to do with it
Cilea yeah there is definitely more to it than I mentioned in this comment, but i wanted to at least mention this because I do feel like it applies here
This is actually the first time I heard you admitting that you can be a whiny person and I have high respect for that. Although I think that your competitive self is definitely part of the reason why the extreme Bayonetta hate was so widely spread among the Smash 4 community, I do think, at the same time, your personality and way of thinking outside of a competitive scene is much more mature and considered, which I personally enjoy about you. So at the end of the day, I always agreed with you quitting competitive gaming not because I hated to see you play(the complete opposite actually), but I really did not like how the competition affected your opinion and therefore you as a person. For me personally, you evolved by stopping to compete and I know many people will probably disagree, but this is just the way I saw it over all these years.
This was really insightful, you have a lot of wisdom and an open minded view towards the Smash and gaming community as a whole. Especially at 41:56 this is so true with social media, heck even the gimmick accounts that Alpharad talked about. I really enjoy this series already!
Hot Take: Sonix is the hypest Sonic player on the planet, but nobody cares because they remember the 3 times he timed someone out and conveniently forget all of the nasty reads, punishes and conversions he gets off of one hit during a set. He plays more aggressively than 6WX, Ken and Wrath but nobody cares because they see a Sonic onscreen and automatically assume that he's camping.
@@yeetogaming9628 that's not even his fault. It's just the way people are, especially with characters that are considered traditionally campy, they fixate on the negatives for the sake of finding something to complain about.
I think the reason characters are so hard to ban in smash is because they each have some sort of legacy outside of smash unlike most other fighting games. Each character has a fanbase with people's favorites
@@rycalamo2684 I mean yeah, but that's just the character. The community has just been quietly really happy about it and they also appreciated the fact that it brought attention to their game.

@@shinkirisame7211 She absolutely deserves it. @@LukeJLB Cause the tournament policy was only updated with this rule on April 3rd, 2019. It has only been enforceable since then.
Zero's video quality just keeps getting better and better. Genuine, informative, and entertaining
Zero low-key flexing his wisdom in this vid, good commentary amigo
38:08 you always get me with the background music man. Last time with gravity rush. Now with Catherine's Lamb game between male and female. And the topics you talk about..... i would love to see more of these types of videos and especially the length. Perfect to listen to while your doing something but also good to watch. This is what i would call top tier content
Talking about gatekeeping and showing the gatekeeper... 😂😂😂
He got cleared
Sad Kirby had me on the brink of tears 😭
I hate seeing Kirby sad. It just upsets me greatly
I didn’t even realize the video was almost an hour long, I was so invested and genuinely pleased at the level of discussion. Keep this coming!
for the whole “gamers are awkward take” that just further proves your take on how society judges you based on interests and possessions. as someone who is more of an athlete than a gamer, but plays both sports and video games a lot, another reason gamers are awkward is because of these stereotypes being put on them
Nah, what they were referring to isn't that. This isn't a "gamers are awkward" thing, this was something a lot deeper, complicated, and part of human nature.
didn't ask ngl
aww, I see you lack in critical thinking! People who don't like talking to people tend to be more likely be a weeb/gamer, stereotypes have nothing to do with it
Cilea yeah there is definitely more to it than I mentioned in this comment, but i wanted to at least mention this because I do feel like it applies here
@@haxmode6935 what you said is literally a stereotype. I see you lack in thinking.
"Smash tourneys are the smelliest"
Definitely has never gone to a ygo tournament LMAO
ZeRo used to be a huge fan actually, I'm sure he's aware LOL
Chad Adams I think he was more referring to Jwittz who made the tweet.
LowerTierGod speaking of tournements how old do u habe to be to join tournements? (Ssbu)
@@oatmealmangd you can go at any age, just look on Facebook for your town and you'll be able to find them
I like how people in Smash 4 were like Bayo is broken, but Melee legit is dominated by Fox and Falco.
This was really insightful, you have a lot of wisdom and an open minded view towards the Smash and gaming community as a whole. Especially at 41:56 this is so true with social media, heck even the gimmick accounts that Alpharad talked about. I really enjoy this series already!
holy crap i didnt notice the video was so long until i clicked on the timestamp
19:05 ZeRo’s binge-watching of business TH-cam channels really shining here
15:02
Reimuu.
Aight, it's not the first time we see or hear 2hu here. Give this man a raise zero.
Me:
Sees thumbnail without having a switch
Also me:
Oh why smash 4....
This. Sonix is such a good player but most people hate him for some camping
It's probably not a good thing if your most recognized clips are of you camping lol
@@yeetogaming9628 that's not even his fault.
It's just the way people are, especially with characters that are considered traditionally campy, they fixate on the negatives for the sake of finding something to complain about.
Why is Zero straight up giving us great sage wisdom, I thought I was getting a clickbait little Timmy video.
Goog work man, keep it up
Alternate title: Life Lessons with ZeRo
I think the reason characters are so hard to ban in smash is because they each have some sort of legacy outside of smash unlike most other fighting games. Each character has a fanbase with people's favorites
July 16, 2021 I miss zero
“You can have a smash character as your profile pick and say you are part of the community”
*shows picture of Fiora as profile pic*
23:59 Damn ZERO be providing those hot life takes... in all seriousness though, it really do be like that.
I really hated that the video ends, it was really interesting, thanks for the content Zero
This should be a podcast series. Petition for zero to make one and advertise it
ZeRo: "Ooh, I burned myself on that hot take."
19:58
"Free promotion for free!"
These kinds of things always get me lol.
Give him a break man English isn't his first language lol
"There's no community that has had no drama."
ARMS Community: *Allow us to introduce ourselves.*
Until they decided to come to smash lol
@@rycalamo2684 I mean yeah, but that's just the character. The community has just been quietly really happy about it and they also appreciated the fact that it brought attention to their game.
That's a community that doesn't exist.
@@SeriousStriker It's very small. Maybe 50-100 people.
That’s because they’re all asleep
I like this new format.

"Melee players hate brawl because it wasn't melee 2" Totally agree
Same with some smash 4 players and ultimate
I think I need to take a walk after the straight facts Zero just spit.
Really missing your content man, hope all is well! Saludos
My hot take is
Most multiplayer Nintendo games are great ways to end some friendship
Mario kart be like:
Mario Party in a nutshell
That is just wrong you said MOST Nintendo games ruin friendships in true ALL Nintendo games ruin friendships
@@mr.personguy4959 Really? Amiibo Festival destroys friendships? 🤣😂🤣😂
You can’t end friendships in Mario Kart if you don’t have any friends to begin with
Ah, this is the "a lot of aspects in life" episode.
Queue the Guilty Gear Strive theme clip: *Man Lind knew that they cannot change S O C I E T Y"* .
In all seriousness, I just recently found out that people legitimately can't tell when people are being fakes like this. It blows my mind that humanity is this... hopeless. Seeing people like you just completely understand this stuff gives me a little bit of that hope back.
Keep being awesome, Zero.
Take: People would've been more fine with Byleth if he wasn't the finale of FP1.
Yeah I think if he/she was shoved in the midle people would be more fine with itn
They should have ended it on banjo
@@baker7280 Terry was sooo amazing tho. Representing SNK as a whole and bumping the soundtrack up with more 50 tracks
I think they should've been released as Joker, Byleth, Hero, Terry Banjo

I love how the thumbnail Is TIMMY with NESS
40:24 I see that Dragalia Lost BGM there in the final segment of the video. Your editors have great taste in music!
Imagine timmy is just zero trolling again...
5:49 LMAO the cut to leffen when he said snake 😂😂😂😂😂
They really slamming Leffen without saying his name once in the video
Ethan Pooper he said leffen’s name once actually lmao
Hot take: It's been too long since little Timmy destroyed the hopes and dreams of players around the world.
Falcon Punch was in Smash before the F-Zero anime came out.

Hot take: It's hard to believe young Zero did what he did. He has improved over the years, especially with this video, but It's not something you can just scratch off. You can't just hide from this.
People on TH-cam: first
Zero’s editors: hahahhahaah
I’m in love with how he says awful and gauge
I also like how he says elitist
Oml he said pedestal and I felt that
To be clear I’m not making fun of him, I just absolutely love his accent

@@shinkirisame7211 She absolutely deserves it. One of the oldest if not the oldest still running indie game franchise in the world (especially one that is still indie), massive fanbase in Japan, huge cultural phenomena, huge western and Japanese following, and represents a genre not in Smash, the bullet hell genre (no, Sans doesn't count, and even then is still kinda RPG, while Touhou is just straight up bullet hell).
@@Endershock1678 and fighting game based too. Don't forget that.
