    Can you do an extended tutorial for the different types of darker skin tones, and Alien/unnatural skin tones.

    • @yukiandkanamekuran
      @yukiandkanamekuran 7 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Angie K she said you can use that same technique just put a different colour underneath.

    • @lillianabright03
      @lillianabright03 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@yukiandkanamekuran i still don't get that. yellow blends in with the dark skin and looks unnatural (and not in an ethereal way) and the red is too bright since it isn't natural for our dark skin to get red on our cheeks. so another tutorial would be helpful ;/

    • @yukiandkanamekuran
      @yukiandkanamekuran 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lillianabright03 well, cool tones isn't specifically yellow, and warm tones isn't specifically red. But it's more so orange-yellow and red-orange. More so pink/olive.
      However it might be the specific colours you use cause it's kind of slight.
      And with some dark skin tones it has tones of blue and purple, or warm colours.
      Study pictures of skintones online, look at how people have different undertones, etc.
      It's subtle, not supposed to be vibrant.

    I could never understand why the other kids in my art classes hated the water color portion of the year, it was always my favorite! I guess I was the odd one out though because I grew up using water colors from my dads artist quality tubes (he taught me how to mix colors etc..) and I always found it relaxing, I was one of the few that the teacher allowed to use the expensive artist grade sets we had in class and I had to help the people around me learn how to mix paint several times XD. I don't do water color often anymore but I still love it and hope to get back into it eventually, till then your videos give me joy to listen to and watch!

    Oh my goodness Danica, thank you for this video! I have been illustration in pencil for years and have been working in more digital but other personal projects are pulling me back into traditional skill sets. I have been very weak in watercolors and I admire artists that use it well so seeing your instructions are a HUGE help! I also really like how you incorporate inked line work into you pieces, that feels like a more natural bridge for me than going straight pained line work from pencils. Keep up this awesomeness!

    Thank you for this amazing lesson! I just started my first watercolor. It's a mermaid and I'm about to do the skin so I'm super glad I watched this first. Your artwork is so beautiful!

    OMG your way of colouring skin is so pretty, and this video was actually helpful. I've never used blue in colouring skin, but now I'll experiment more, thanks to this video~☆

    this was extremely helpful!! I've recently finished a large pen and ink drawing and want to watercolor it, but was nervous to just jump in! this gave me some good pointers and things to keep in mind while starting to apply color to my piece! THANKS!

    Thank you so much for this video! I put it in my faves so I can watch it a few times! I could say I´m kind of trying to do more watercolor drawings this year and this was realy helpfull.
    Also love how both are the same girl but now realy different thanks to the skin and haircolor etc.
