Just a quick message to Carlos, in Mexico, after nearly 50 years...Drew Doughty was the only player who announced he'd like to go to L.A. during the draft. For those of us who've followed the Kings from the very beginning, you never trade-under any circumstance-a guy who wanted to come here. Even Kopi, whenever he does retire...he's outta here. He will return to his home country and will teach hockey to the young people-like his dad does. And he'll take his cute little snicker doodle with him. It was the same for most players from the beginning. So, any player who remained in L.A. became a hero to those of us who actually live here. Go Kings.
Hey Eddie, All the Kings centers are having trouble adjusting to the 1-2-2 after playing the 1-3-1 for 5 years.. They are controlling the gap between the 2 deep and the 2 back. Q isn't the only one not scoring. Danault, Helanius and Turcotte aren't scoring a lot at center. Hiller was asked directly. If certain players aren't scoring. Is he concerned. He said flat out "no" because they are contributing defensively to help win games. The reason Kopi is scoring is because he knows how to play the 1-2-2. He has 3 conference finals and 2 Stanley Cups playing with it. The reason Q is struggling is because as a winger he was often the 1st man in. As a center he is rotating into the f3. Not the 1st man in but the middle between the guys deep and the 2 defenseman. Your last guest nailed it exactly on Q. Often times even when he is leading the attack he won't just turn on the jets but he will stop up. Defer to his wingers to drive. He is still learning a balance on when to attack and when to hang back. Comes down to reads and Q i believe has a high hockey IQ. Danault and Q will figure it out as the season moves forward.
Byfield's stick handling is very sub par, he needs a lot of work there for sure. It's so easy to poke check or take the puck from him. Everything else looks good IMO. Pulling for Q.
Byfield is fine. As long as he puts up assists, he gets points. It's a working progress defensively, but he is learning. Some fans are just nitpicking because he re-signed a huge contract extension before this season.
Matthews aint going anywhere right now for sure 💯facts i say unless maybe like a Eric lindros trade scenario back in the day like half a team for 1 player and a couple of throw ins haha GKG
If gavi wants more then 5.5 mil a season over 4 year definitely trade him for some other simular defenseman for a reasonable contract they r out there by roy by gavi they not worth the loot and length only my opinion GKG
Of course I would not like to see Doughty end his carreer anywhere other than L.A., but if it had to happen... like Dave commented - Giving Doughty and half the team (haha) for Matthews... it would have to be considered. And Eddie keeps talking about the Non-Trade clause. Question: Why would a California native not want to play in the 2nd biggest market in the world?
I think as a kings fan is organization trying to excel Byfields growth partly because of Kopitars and doughtys ages and trying to squeeze a too soon cup win in. even tho Q did get a raise come on pick it up stutzle ooops I mean Byfield haha oh my GKG bigger ceiling OK 👍
Bottom line, should have picked Stutzle. That pick may be the worst choice in franchise history. If we had Stutzle, there's a good chance we don't trade Faber for Fiala nor a bunch of stuff for PLD.
Was just researching the last 25 years of #2 overall picks, it’s definitely hit and miss, but it’s also got some top notch players like Barkov, Reinhardt, Eichel. It’s clear to me that combined with his numbers and the eye test he will not be a star in this league. He shows flashes of skill at time, but he just doesn’t have it consistently enough to be a star, and more time is not going to help that.
Byflield was great last year this year not so much he might a change in scenery maybe a trade somewhere else he got paid now he not producing trade him I would
Doughty coming back will bring life back in to the Kings GKG

Foegle, Jeanot, and Byfield has been the best line for the last 3 to 4 weeks.

QB was always going to take some time, I think he's ahead of the schedule from his draft.

Know more deals with Winnipeg unless they want to give kings lopsided trade for kyle connor like we gave them for dubious haha lets go kings
I wouldn't trade janot to make room for kaliev nah no way not right now for sure GKG
Kaliev isnt an NHL player, unfortunately. I've watched him play for several years with the Reign and he isn't.

Cap is going up big next season and the growth of the league means the cap will continue to go up. 5.5 will be like 3.5 in 1 or 2 years.
King’s power play needs to be fixed. It’s so atrocious.
Can't knock rittich right now he playing well i think

What about moving out Moore? Plugging Kaliyev in his spot?
🏒GKG
@@VintageTealDog hell no...Kaliyev isn't an NHL player....

Ed in Brea...Hockey's not your sport and you're clearly a Kings hater
