I´ve never been to Rottweil very nice town. I like this type of video you make. You start with little knowledge and take us with you on your excursions. So we get the feeling to be with you as a friend rather than to be with a gide or a teacher. That wouldn´t be bad either but that way we discover things together and simultaniously. By the way there is one thing I have to teach you: Rottweil lies exactly between the Schwarzwald and the Schwäbische Alb; so when you look east you see the Schwäbische Alb when you look west you see the Schwarzwald.
I like your videos and walking tours. 50:00 I was thinking the same - you are showing us the beauty and history of places through your own eyes. I also love the fact that you visit the churches.
My guess is that the lantern looking things were for holding saints' bones, or something religious was carried in a procession around the town. If it's a Catholic Church then it's for worship items. We call the process veneration. It's a form of Catholic worship that makes our relationship with God unique.
Rottweilers are considered to be one of the oldest breeds. They came to Germany with the Romans, drove their cattle and guarded outposts. Many were left behind; the breed as we know it today emerged in the southern German town of Rottweil. Rottweilers are classified as part of the Mastiff family. I've googled 😉
Walking out of town at the end of the day you were reflecting your day in Rottweil a bit and and I guess you really enjoyed your visit and dinner an the Gasthaus Goldener Apfel. I´m glad you got the "Apfel feeling". It is a small Gasthaus so people who know or don´t know each other are sitting at the same table having conversation and a good time together. This is for sure a good place to be in Rottweil.
The stones you see on churches are old gravestones. The graveyards used to be around the church. They were built new outside the old town some time ago. Some of the more beautiful gravestones were preserved and mounted to the church.

27.30 Ja, genau! Der Name "Donnerstag" leitet sich vom germanischen Donnergott Thor ab. In altnordischen Sprachen wurde der Donnerstag "Þórsdagr" genannt, was "Thors Tag" bedeutet.
