First of all, thank you very much for your videos. I enjoy them regardless of quality or filming format ;) However, I’d be happy to leave my feedback. I really like some of the shots and the smoothness of the footage. The visuals are extremely beautiful. When you’re filming about a city or want to show something in detail, I tend to prefer seeing the main front shot of the scene. But when you’re providing commentary or sharing something, it would be nice to see you and your emotions, your eyes, and your excitement about what you’re seeing for the first time. Sometimes it’s great to combine what you’re showing with your face. Overall, I like everything you do and wouldn’t change anything. Do what you enjoy, that’s why I watch you. Because you’re the one creating, not us. Good luck to you!
Yo my dude. Happy you're back in DE making videos! It's great to watch, you're one of the reasons I plan to move to Germany (if we can make it) and I started doin a little YT. Trying to learn from the master of Californian in DE. Thanks again for the inspiration!
Ettlingen Castle is the widow's residence of Sibilla Augusta (1675-1733), the wife of "Türkenlouis", the royal general, Margrave Ludwig Wilhelm of Baden-Baden. She herself came from Bohemia. Shortly after his marriage to Sibilla Augusta, Margrave Ludwig Wilhelm had to go to war against the Ottomans again. In the Battle of Slankamen in 1691 he achieved his greatest triumph, hence his name "Türkenlouis". His spoils from that time can still be viewed in the castle in Karlsruhe today. Sibylla Augusta was the builder of the Favorite Castle in Rastatt, the Ettlingen Castle and the castle church of Rastatt Castle. The large baroque stone figure from 1724 on the town hall bridge in Ettlingen represents the Bohemian Saint St. Nepomuk, a reminiscence of her Bohemian heritage. A similar statue stands on the Charles Bridge in Prague.

Wonderful. I was stationed in Ettlingen back in the 80s. Beautiful little city just a short ride from Karlsruhe. My base was just a bit up the street from the old church you tried to get in...go up to the traffic light and Rheinland Kaserne would have been cross-corner.
Dear Conner, thank you for showing me, how beautiful my hometown is. It's so interesting, to see it through someones eyes, who don't live here. If you live somewhere since you were born, you think you know everything, but some details your eyes missed. Would love to see you once again around here. Fun fact.. in my next life I wanna live in america on a farm, with much nature around me, flowers, vegetables, fruit trees, my house will have a swing on the porch and my children will be teached at home, while I am baking, cooking gardening etc. 😂
Hello Connor, first of all. Great Video man! Love the "rawness"! 😄 If you love oldtowns and old citys you have to come to "Ladenburg" in the north of Baden-Württemberg. It's about 15-20 minutes from Heidelberg and it's the oldest city on the right side of the rhein river. It was an old roman town and has still a super beautful "Altstadt" with a lot of history! The City is not that big, but it has an absolute unique vibe. I bet you would love it. Have a good one Mate and keep it on!
Another city that might be worth a visit is Baden-Baden. Then you might also try to go up the Murg valley the "Murgtal" starting in Rastatt that has also some nice sights, taking the S81 in the direction of Freudenstadt the city with the biggest market square in Germany, along that you might find spots worth to get out of the S-Bahn and give the towns and villages a little stroll, like Gernsbach with a nice small Altstadt and Schloss Eberstein from there you have a nice view down the vineyards at the Murg valley, along that you can see small villages with the typical half-timber houses. There you might find town an village corners that look even more like from the beauty and the beast.
Love this! Keep up the great work! I live in a little village up the hill from ettlingen and gonna move to ettlingen in two weeks! If you ever come back and need someone to show you around, I would be more than happy to do so!
I'm german and I lived in Ettlingen for some years. My husband and I fell in love there and got married in the castle. That was 15 years ago and we haven't been there for some time. I think we will visit again soon. Thanks for reminding me how nice Ettlingen is. 😊
The Irish guy is Eamonn Ferry, he is the owner for over 30 years. A friend of mine, the pub was my home for about two years in the late 80's early 90's. You picked a good place to end the video, hope that you had a chance to have a bier while sitting on the wall next to the river.
And I think when you watch your videos, you'll see the best if we saw that what you wanted us to see. Nice your back(: Over the years I was searching for your channel
Glad you went to Ettlingen. I lived there 20 years ago and really enjoyed it. few short remarks though: you could have stayed in the S11 at the start and would also have come to ettingen as both S1 and S11 are going there. and also "Ettlingen Stadt" is the central station of Ettlingen - but again you wouldnt have seen the albgaubad if you would have left the train early :D also if you like old towns, you got to got to Durlach (take tram line 1) and you can visit Karlsruhes real old town and also visit the Turmberg with a beautiful view across the city, especially at sunset :) (you can even directly reach it by leaving the train from stuttgart at karlsruhe-durlach station :))
Dear Conner, since I see that you already like Ettlingen so much, I recommend that you also visit Nuremberg (around 3 hours by car from Karlsruhe) and Speyer - just under 60 km from Karlsruhe - (cathedral and old town around the cathedral) in Germany. These two cities are among the oldest cities in Germany. Strasbourg (Strasbourg Cathedral) in France/Alsace - about 82 km from Karlsruhe - is also worth a visit. The old town of Strasbourg is generally beautiful and around Christmas, houses in the area of the Christmas market are also beautifully decorated for Christmas. Best wishes

I have been living there for a year. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the region anyway. There's also "Vogelbräu" close to castle which sells their own brewed beer

I live in Ettlingen yesterday I saw your video in Karlsruhe I was like damn he was in Karlsruhe that’s crazy, one day later you’re in my hometown but it really is very pretty
To go into Etllingen Altstadt you had go out of the tram at "Ettlingen Stadtbahnhof" you passed right before "Albgaubad" 😂. To go first steps into the Black Forest, you can drive with the S1 to Bad Herrenalb. Nice short drive (15-20min), small town with some parcs. From there is a nice way up the small upper Albtal (best to drive with bus to Oberes Gaistal and then walk down). In Karlsruhe you should go to Durlach and then up to the "Turmberg" with a nice view over the whole city and rhine valley (of course when weather is good).
Seeing the river reminded me of the rubber duck races they did every year in Ettlingen on that river. I don't know if they still do it but they dumped a truck foll of rubber ducks in the river and caught them way down and see which is first. You can buy tickets with numbers on them and if your duck wins you can get a prize. 😊
There is a really nice town I recommend you visiting, it's called Marbach am Neckar. It has a really nice old town and it also has a great connection to Stuttgart. Btw I really enjoy these kind of videos where you just walk around some small towns and explore them.
Speaking about the 'river painting' - at 27:56 you can see our house we live in since three generations, the one in front of the bridge. If you ever want to enjoy this view from the first row, we are renting out Airbnbs there ;-) We call them Remise and Maisonette.
This is so interesting and weird at the same time. I love to watch travel videos from other countries, just to see their day to day life. No touristy stuff, just how life is in small villages and stuff like that and I'm always fascinated by it. However, now I'm watching how someone walks through and comments one of my neighbour towns and I just keep thinking "What's so special about that?". Like when Conner stands on the bridge and just enjoys the view of the small river and marvels the ambience, my mind goes "I don't get it. What is he seeing?".
I think you need a backup battery pack, because the best way to film is if you alternate between the camera facing you and it facing forward, so we can see you at times and also what you're seeing. Because at 18:23 when you were there as well, the image was blurry, because it can't focus into the distance.
Conner if you want to explore more places here in the black forest go near Freiburg, go explore the Kaiserstuhl Region or the villages near Freiburg like Münstertal or others
Greetings from zeiskam😁❤️ It's about 40 kilometers from Ettlingen. Conner you have to see the view from the Rietburg(castle ruins)not far from here. It's nice watching this kind of video. It's very relaxing, and it feels like remote-exploring! Did you check out Speyer btw? It's not too far from Karlsruhe/Ettlingen and worth a visit, I think. :)
Was stationed there for 4 years. Check out the Irish pub and Rhineland kaserne. PS, you walked through the wrong tunnel. The other tunnel had names of the WW1 and WW2 dead.

I’m living literally 10min from where you were walking. I am following you since your vlog from KSC at Stuttgart
thx for being in my hometown :)
Wow! Your gimbal is great!
What is he seeing?".
you have to look for enzkreis, maybe Dennach would be a nice little Villiage :)
Greetings from Ettlingen (Bruchhausen) 🙂
It's right on the mountains you got to see this it's unbelievably beautiful up there. If you are interested just hit me up I can give you all the information that you need.
I live 45Years in Karlsruhe. It's a beautiful city. Welcome Conner 😊The first train was the right train too😂
Dorlach is the best…Gruß von einem dorlacher wohnhaft in berlin
Yep, Ettlingen is a real nice old city. Next time you come to this place, I would suggest you to go to Durlach too and if you can arrange it visit "Das Fest" , which is end of july every year. Greetings from Karlsruhe.
Perfect video.
It's nice watching this kind of video. It's very relaxing, and it feels like remote-exploring! Did you check out Speyer btw? It's not too far from Karlsruhe/Ettlingen and worth a visit, I think. :)
Hi Conner,go to Freiburg, you will be so impressed !!!
Connor you are so kind and gentile walking around. I love that buddy.
YOU ARE IN KARLSRUHE
Conner in Ettlingen - how nice is that!
Was stationed there for 4 years. Check out the Irish pub and Rhineland kaserne. PS, you walked through the wrong tunnel. The other tunnel had names of the WW1 and WW2 dead.
