Hi - can you share what cables you are using with your Geshelli to your iMac? Are you using a 3.5 to Toslink plugged into the headphone jack? Which brand? And how about going from DAC to Amp?
@@RomanDeHonney My only gripe with the dac is that its not USB or ethernet or something that can do better than toslink... I get why they do this for compatibility purposes, but meh... Because of this I own the AMP and not the DAC... I use and SMSL SU-8. I need FLAC and DSD capability beyond 24/192 sometimes. The amp does sound hella good and clean though.
They just released the Archel 2 and it is a huge upgrade that in testing beats even The THX AAA 789 in low distortion and unlike the original it has High Gain and at the introductory price of $119 it's a heck of a bargain
I have purchased an archel pro but i don't have the enog2. I have a small portable dac/amp called the fiio q1 and I got the archel pro to drive the hd6xx and use the q1 as a dac only. Is this a good idea. The q1 works as a nice DAC by itself. Will the high gain be an issue?
Well yea I love the design, and that's why I hate the product. Their DAC looks better then anything out there, yet is not any better than my on board sound card. I WANT TO HAVE something that looks like that and have the Topping D90 specs, but even if would get it I would not enjoy it because it has no use in 2020.
Mititelu Radu the D90 has marginally better “specs” I haven’t used one so I can’t speak to its quality but I doubt very seriously your onboard sound card can even come close to the Enog I don’t know how you can even formulate an opinion without hearing it. There’s really no “need” for a lot of things with modern technology. It’s like trying to use a Swiss Army knife to cut your steak.... I mean it’ll work but it’s not the best option. but when you strive for the best sound possible that brings you to DAC/Amps and some high ohm headsets
@@RomanDeHonney try this. Output 265 DSD, then on the same pc and DAC the very same file run it in to another player and output it as 32bit 192 khz. You will not even be able to tell it is the same song. Now move the test down to 24bit to match the DAC in question and you will see how much sound quality I need give up to.
Oh yeah. This is first experience same when I started using old music equipment again when we no longer have silver stereo receiver back in 1998 right after it was replaced by newer AV receiver.
Is this thing available in europe by any change? Only thing so far i've seen is the magni3 but i heard it sounds boring and that would be a waste of money and atom doesn't seem to come to eu soon.
