    The California edition cars are so beautiful, the colors reminds me of 6 flags, raging waters and Santa Monica.

    You are a true historian. I find the time period of these cars to be the years I know least about-so I always learn something from you.

      +Scott Dunlap Thank you so much, that is music to my ears. I like to think of myself as somewhat of a Hot Wheels historian. So glad to be of help to you and everyone else that collects vintage Hot WHeels!

    oh man, your video was like a time machine. That was my childhood.
    As a child, we went to the next city once a week, to get groceries and stuff, and I always made my mom buy me a Hotwheels. The California Customs were the coolest looking once - I think they still are - I am in love with those cars.
    I think since then I am just stuck with Hotwheels, real cars and California:)
    A few years ago I had a little car parts business and my friend designed me some stickers after the design they used on those buttons, which are included with the normal CCs.
    btw can you tell me, why there are some california customs which appeard in the mainlines? They do say California Customs on the windshields, but I am sure they were mainline cars.
    again a great video, I just watched the latest one you released and thought I watch this one again.

      +ZamacParkingLot I have thought about writing a book, only thing is there is lots of great info already on the subject from other collectors / authors. It's not out of the question though, maybe one day when I have more time to write I will do such a thing but right now I'm focusing on making educational and entertaining videos. Thanks for the compliment and comment!

      +James Rodgers Hahaha, I am somewhat of a walking Hot Wheels encyclopedia... The Super California Custom cars were from 1992, and had a short run. I don't remember seeing many of them growing up, but it's possible they didn't come to my area back then.

    Great video as usual, I have a few of those Cal Customs myself, I just bought 8 of them for £10 including the '67 Camaro! If you look @5:16 is that an error in the A pillar on the Porsche? It looks like the pillar has a wee break in it, like all the metal didn't fill the die.

  • @reeceracing123
    @reeceracing123 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great vid. Each colour variation of the Super Cal Customs has an individual name, for example the pickup truck in pink is the Big Sur-Prize while in orange it's called the Bod-Acious. Regarding a comment of a previous video about the CAT Steam Roller from the matchbox Dirt Machines 2PK, I just found out that mine is from a hotwheels set (forgotten the name, sorry) that comes with a spare roller and mouldable 'clean' dirt. It's in a book I have. Also have you heard of the 1995 Hot Wheels Top Speed cars? I have three myself and were a mystery to me for 10+ years, as they don't have anything on the base, I just found our that they're called Top Speed, and information on this series is hard to find, do you know anything about them?

    • @wtffor
      @wtffor  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +reeceracing123 I have not heard of the top speed cars, no. But thanks for letting me know about them I am quite curious to research them now! Thanks for the comment, and glad you enjoyed the video!

    Do you think it'd be easy to find just the stampers from the crack ups? I found those two cars loose but I'd like to find the stamper, I'm a complete at for those Crack-Ups

    • @wtffor
      @wtffor  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have seen just stampers for sale on eBay before, and they weren't that expensive... If I were you I would just keep checking until you find the ones you want. If anything stampers might be easier to find then the cars themselves, IMO

      +wtffor then I definitely am going to go after these cars, it's a bid, 20 bucks for the 4, I hope I win, I also found that Camaro California custom for 8 bucks, is it worth it? Is that the rarest white version? The orange with turbine and dark Windows

    Wondering if you could help me. I'm looking for a California customs car as a gift for my husband. From what he remembers it looks an awfully lot like the Camaro or "blown camaro" as you called it, but he said he remembers that the top of the car would lift up. If that makes any sense. It wasn't a fixed body. If you could maybe point me in the right direction that would be very helpful!

    • @wtffor
      @wtffor  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Brakkett There was a Funny Car in the California customs series, only one, with an opening top. It was white with blue and bright pink decorations on the sides, only thing was it was a 70's Corvette. I don't know of any Blown Camaro's or Camaro's of that body style released by Hot Wheels featuring an opening top.

    • @Brakkett
      @Brakkett 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +wtffor that must be it! He never could remember what type of car it was, but he said the colours on the side of this camaro you show here looks familiar (blue and pink). Thanks for the help!

      +G Love Thanks for watching and the cool comment, very interesting and I think many of us can relate! I don't know why there are cars in the mainline with California Customs on the windshields. Personally I have never seen one of these, perhaps they could be errors, rare variation, or rare repack?
