Always incredibly informative videos. While I was there at the beginning of Hot Wheels - my first was a Spectraflame orange Custom Cougar in a 1968 loop the loop with jump track set - I only began collecting HW in July, 2017. I love using your collection to identify cars I've purchased in ebay lots!

JoshTheCollectorGuy It is a great way of amassing a large collection quickly with lots of variation - and then as you "up-replace" chipped cars you end up with a fantastic "well-loved" junkyard collection. I love my junkers almost as much as my non chipped cars just because of all the character they have and the stories I wish they could tell me. Thanks for the comment, and Happy Hunting to you too!!

I love the 70s BWs the best! I’m lucky to have a dozen or two of my original collection and it is fun hunting them down again. I think the cool classics and the newer flying customs are great but I just have this thing for the old ones although there kinda slow on the tracks, the new ones are super fast! Thanks for sharing your collection with us!
Faster The Dragster Yes the old Blackwalls hold a special nostalgia for me as well, but I do love what Mattel is doing by bringing out new series' such as Heritage, Classics, and the Hot Ones series from a few years back. It's good to keep the interest alive and provide an affordable collectible to the next generation of Hot Wheels fans. Thanks for the comment!

Well I have been collecting since I was in grade 5 (1982). I remember seeing alot of these on the pegs over the years. My big brother would buy them for me. I tried my best to resist buying too many because just don't have the room to store them.
You must either have a very understanding wife/girlfriend, or must be single. My girlfriend gives me a hard over the hobby.

I just got over 100 blackwalls at a flea market I want my collection to look like yours and now I have almost half of the variations you have. I've been passionate about blackwalls ever since I was 6 and so in 7 years I have gotten a large amount of them. Most of the time I find 2 or 3 at the flea market not 100 and it was only $80!
By the way one of them was a converables model (a series from the early 90s) could you do a video on them please?

Also I was so honored that u thought enough about me and my collection to say the kind words u spoke about me and my collection . U know u inspired me to start collecting 74-89/90 era HOt Wheels. Not only that but to like u collect the set EVerything from 74-89/90 among other die cast cars . This video proves what I said for a long time . U have the best collection I have ever seen . And I can say I have seen some amazing collections over the years . The quality of this collection is unreal. Your early stuff WOW WOW !!! I can see u are so close to completing this collection. Me I am still buying and working on my 74-89/90 collection among other collections both die cast and non die cast . Your videos helped me in ways u will never know . just wanted to say - I watch all your videos and in my opinion, you have the best hotwheels channel on youtube. All the cool older stuff reminds me of my childhood, the quality and the style of the 70s and 80s thru 90s cars is so much better. And thanks to your knowledge we all learn something new, and enjoy the sport a little more:) I always go thru my cars after I watched some of your videos.
btw I think your collection of real cars rule as well. I am a car nut myself and always wrench on something - you are so write. its hard to find a middle way or choose what better, big cars or little cars:) on both ebay is where you spend most of your days.

wtffor most of the german cars are impressive, but I got nothing fancy to offer, my daily at the moment is an old Audi 100 5 cylinder turbo diesel and a 1946 Oldsmobile Club Coupe. Both cars are not the best for the Autobahn, nor the canyon roads around me:)

I feel you on the shipping boxes ..I have so many cars to send people but the shipping does sometimes make it not worth it. And I realize that finding the cars myself in store is really what is all about for me. Boxes are fun but also overwhelming to keep up with!

Great video! I just started collecting last year and have three Plano cases full of realistic models, mostly Fords and Chevys!
Amazing collection and it is more amazing considering the time spent on searching these, costs and all that. In the end i say it is worth it.

For now I do have one question, in your 89 section there was a white split window mid 60's vette, I couldn't/didn't recognize the tampos, was this a general edition or a special edition vette? thank you very much, bob.

The '63 Corvette Stingray you spotted on my wall was released in 1989 exclusively in the Classics 5-Pack. It was the only exclusive car to the set and hence commands a fairly high price on eBay.... typically $15 to $25 and not easy to find. Good eye my friend!

Glad to see you back at it. Your videos are often a highlight of my week pertaining to diecast. Question: what's the name of that yellow lifted off road truck (Silverado I think) from about 1986? I have never seen it before and might need to add it...
Austin Batista That truck is similar to the casting known as "Commando" - similar to the Tail Gunner casting. It is from the 1986 Body Swappers 3-pack, which featured this truck exclusively as well as the Sports Car and the Police Car - all of which had interchangeable body parts and chassis. They occasionally can be found on eBay... but are scarce and hard to find.

2017 Jan I just viewed it awesome facts. My collection is on blue cards numbers 1 thru 100. All are of 1989. Question I would ask all of them now? 2nd question, how do you cover your containers? Thank you

That's a a lot of cars. Those old tanks are pretty much the fastest hotwheels to race.
Diecast Show I've never raced the old tanks, but now I really want to! Time to get out the 6 Lane Raceway and try out the vintage tanks. LOL

John Katona I don't go out of my way to collect 68 to 73, simply because of the prices for good condition cars is very high and I wanted to focus on the 74 to 89's initially. I keep track of my cars on a series of Excel spread sheets I created myself with pictures of all my cars sorted by both year of release and model name the casting.

Yes, I am familiar with those! They are from the 1992 release of "Convertibles"... a short lived series of cars that featured pop up engines, and I believe sounds. They are hard to find!
