I'm proud of our Zulu heritage and culture. Especially being African they way we respect our traditions no matter where we are in the world. Thanks for uploading.
This is lit! But I am surprised, In Zulu are women allowed to sing these war songs or the culture is just modernized? Sotho-Tswana calls this music mokorotlo and is men only who participate not women.
There were also a women impi or battalion who travelled with the men to cater for their cooking etc. There is a story that when King Dingane took over he had to convince the army to conform to him as they were committed to King Shaka, who he had killed. So, he allowed them to marry the women warrior clan and the women refused, so the impi became a clan wheread before they were a temporary allocation while someone was of fighting age. That changed and amaPondo or amaButho or Maputo or Mbuthu or Mbuduma or Duma or Dube or Mhwaduba started having their own permanent chiefs and ruling families. Some of these are called BamaNgwato who call themselves Tswana today which was the heads of the armies called Zwane or Zakwe or Msane or Zansi/Zanzibar. The head of the Zulu army was called uMswati. In King Shaka's time this was Mkabayi who headed up the AbaQulusi who are also called Khuluse and Hurutse or Sokhumalo in various South African languages.
@@ntuthukozwane5365 I totally disagree with you Hurutse/Barutse are not Ngunis and they lived in today Northern Botswana and they are ancestors of today majority of Basotho and some Batswana/Pedi clans
