Rutter is one of God's best gifts to the modern world. I am so grateful to have sung & taught his hymns and songs for so many years. I adore this composer and man.
Imagine being in that pavilion with those heavenly voices/instruments flooding your senses! Then think of heaven, with so many more brothers’ and sisters’ voices, utter love, joy and peace and Jesus’ presence! Fixing your eyes on this as your ultimate destination, anxiety will not control as it has.
Prachtig lied. Het doet mij goed dit te horen. Soms ben ik somber , omdat ik mij afvraag word ik gezien in deze wereld. Dit lied is als een warme deken voor mij!
One of the items on my bucket list was to sing with John Rutter. Well, about 20 years ago he came to Minneapolis for a workshop and I was able to attend and sing under his (metaphoric) baton.
When I see the faces of the singers, I see deep faith in God, and joy to praise Him. Thank you, John Rutter, for creating such exquisite music to inspire all who hear it.
I had the privilege to sing John Rutters requem with the Malaspina choir in Nanaimo B.C. it's my favorite requem and when my husband passed away in 1995 I had psalm 23 played at his funeral. It still gives me comfort to listen to it.
Look at the world Everything all around us Look at the world And marvel every day Look at the world So many joys and wonders So many miracles Along our way Praise to the O Lord for all creation Give us thankful hearts that we may see All the gifts we share and every blessing All things come of thee Look at the earth Bringing forth fruit and flowers Look at the sky The sunshine and the rain Look at the hills Look at the trees and mountains Valley and flowing river Field and plain Praise to the O Lord for all creation Give us thankful hearts that we may see All the gifts we share and every blessing All things come of thee Think of the spring Think of the warmth of summer Bringing the harvest Before the winter's cold Everything grows Everything has a season Till it is gathered to the fathers fold Praise to the O Lord for all creation Give us thankful hearts that we may see All the gifts we share and every blessing All things come of thee Every good gift All that we need and cherish Comes from the Lord In token of his love We are his hands Stewards of all his bounty His is the earth and his the heavens above Praise to the O Lord for all creation Give us thankful hearts that we may see All the gifts we share and every blessing All things come of thee All things come of thee
A magical musical moment. It was thrilling to have been part of this choir. Rutter was delightful, the children's choir was great, the LA Cathedral is stunning (glad they show the beautiful tapestries in this video). Most of all, his music was and is so pleasing to sing and to listen to.
What a beautiful soul you are mr Ritter, what joy, what peace, what comfort you have given. I can never give you enough thanks for what you have given me. Joy, peace. Acceptance , love. Thank you from the bottom of my heat
Hisname But how is he a bad conductor? I sang along with this and also look at him when it shows. For me I think he lead me well. And also lead these people and the pianist, they sing together and... and nice. I don't understand so please explain.
There's a lot of things I can't do, but that doesn't mean I can't point out when someone else isn't doing them well. At 3:10, there's no mistaking that the orchestra and piano are not together, whether that's Mr. Rutter's fault or not. I think a few things are at play--it's a mass group of different choirs spread out in a large space, and that makes it very difficult to stay together because of the variation in how the sound travels. Plus, it is a very "acoustic" space, and the echoes can mess up even the best musicians. Third, it being a choir fest means that they probably had very limited rehearsal time together. Fourth, watch how many singers have their eyes buried in their score and may not be watching the conductor very well. And fifth, this is a recording, and all recordings can never capture the actual sound of the live performance.
I listen to this beautiful song every day. Jon was blessed with a wonderful God given gift. If only people would look at the words and do and appreciate what they are saying. God bless you. John for sharing your wonderful gift just look at the beauty of the earth.

I nominated John for British knighthood in 2007; the Queen reportedly enjoyed my nomination letter. Received three acknowledgements from three British agencies involved with knighthood issues. John thanked me for my thoughtfulness, but he was content with his OBE honor.
Happened to be in Ely this morning and walked into Ely Cathedral and caught the end of their Harvest Festival service...and what should be the first thing I hear...this anthem. Gorgeous performance from the choir.
Starting from 2:40 there’s just something about that acapella and the reverb just feels like everything’s just slowed down I mean I can’t put it in words how beautiful this is
I'm a guy and this makes me cry man! I used to sing this in the church choir as a child, brings back so many wonderful memories. Thanks for the upload!
We sang this song yesterday which was Canossian Saints' Day celebration for the school and it was the longest song but we did well we memorized almost the whole song
Amazing composition and sung by so many choirs it is truly a dream! I love John Rutter's music, which I used to sing in a small choir I was part of and now that I sing solo I would love to sing this song again and a few of John's other pieces!
This is a beautiful piece...a great achievement..you can feel the love that went into this taking you towards the sublime...John Rutter..what a musician and what an incredible mixture of choirs..the orchestration is fab.. ..there is a God after all..I have a feeling that music this good can heal the soul....
Never forget that you are a great gift from Heaven. Even though you were and/or are not in this choir from what you have said, you have had valuable life across your years. If you had not been here, the emotion in other people from you would not have started spreading. You “are his hands,” a steward “of all his bounty”. I know about this song because I was in a children’s choir and we were singing this song. That choir is still down because of the pandemic. It was lovely being in that choir, even though it partially felt like an annoyance to me at the time. I blame that on the fact that my doctor had me on vyvanse for focus and that I had not found a place for screen time on my list of priorities. I needed to have a thankful heart that I could see (no pun intended). “Praise to thee O Lord.” I think that you should turn lyrics of songs into some of your prayers. When I did that for the chorus of this song, I personally view that as one of the most beautiful prayers that I have said. I also have broken the habit of using God’s and Jesus’s name to say that I don’t like something. I personally believe that that has brought me closer to them. I also believe that people are creation. I believe that God and Jesus are in our hearts, and so are all people’s souls, whether their bodies are living or dead. I believe that Heaven is our hearts, and although I believe Hell can be too, I also believe that it is the one of the two that can be destroyed, and Jesus and God and Their people can help with that. I believe Hell should be destroyed because although it is okay to dislike, it is never okay to hate, and especially not to use it as a punishment because that defeats the purpose of one.
Hallo John, I am very pleased to learn such beautiful songs in our choir in Wiemesmeer ( Belgium) Congragulation for your work. Enjoy it every time. Lut
MARAVILLOSO !!! SUBLIME !!! Muchas gracias , el milagro de la vida !!! despertar en el AMOR infinito de DIOS !!! Bendito y alabado seas por siempre SEÑOR !!!

I was part of this amazing event, standing right in front of John Rutter in the tenor part🥰Not going to forget it~
Lucky you! I have been in several choirs singing his works, I would dearly have loved to have him conduct one, just once!
John Rutter is the best. When I was in my church choir, I always looked forward to singing his music!
Thirteen years later and this music is just as beautiful as it was then. A piece of beauty with children's and adult voices, caught in time.
I'm so mesmerized by this song and the choir as well. I can't help feeling nostalgic . Reminded of God's wonderful creations
John Rutter sure has a way with music and wonderful sacred lyrics to help take us on a deep Spiritual Journey Within.
Why feel nostalgic? Go and see Gods world and marvel! We are his stewards! Resolve to do this vital job better! We are his hands and feet!!!!!!
Though not in any way religious, just love his compositions. Just beautiful. Sing with a choir, and so look forward to sing his songs.

Ebenezer ArunKumar.D And mr Rutter himself declares: I am an Atheist but I love just the music
Agreed
@@DirkSchaap I agree with Mr Rutter, you don't have to be Christian, as I am, but I love this piece so much.
Beautifully sung brought a tear to my eyes.
Absolutely adore this song, this rendition is beautifully done
Thank you God for letting me find this first thing to start another challenging week ❤ it’s a beautiful way to start
Probably the most beautiful hymn ever written...
Listen to his "for the beauty of the earth" you'll like it

This was the first song sung in our cathedral after the 2020 Covid spring lockdown. It still brings tears to my eyes. Simply beautiful.
Ein wunderbares Lied - wie im Himmel. Dort werden wir auch Gott preisen für seine Erlösung und Schöpfung. Musik weist in dieser Form auf Gott hin.
God has loved us through Mr. Rutter's music.
This is so beautiful. It brought tears of joy to my eyes.
Caricia para el alma!!! Una de las canciones mas bella que he escuchado!!! Gracias❤❤❤❤
It is wonderful at last to see John Rutter in person, so enthusiastically conducted with joy and obvious glory to his Saviour.
Mr. Rutter is a Gift from God 🥰🙏🏻🌠🕯️♥️🎶
Absolutely stunning
"all the gifts we share and every blessing" has such a beautiful baritone melody.
Look at the world
Everything all around us
Look at the world
And marvel every day
Look at the world
So many joys and wonders
So many miracles
Along our way
Praise to the O Lord for all creation
Give us thankful hearts that we may see
All the gifts we share and every blessing
All things come of thee
Look at the earth
Bringing forth fruit and flowers
Look at the sky
The sunshine and the rain
Look at the hills
Look at the trees and mountains
Valley and flowing river
Field and plain
Praise to the O Lord for all creation
Give us thankful hearts that we may see
All the gifts we share and every blessing
All things come of thee
Think of the spring
Think of the warmth of summer
Bringing the harvest
Before the winter's cold
Everything grows
Everything has a season
Till it is gathered to the fathers fold
Praise to the O Lord for all creation
Give us thankful hearts that we may see
All the gifts we share and every blessing
All things come of thee
Every good gift
All that we need and cherish
Comes from the Lord
In token of his love
We are his hands
Stewards of all his bounty
His is the earth and his the heavens above
Praise to the O Lord for all creation
Give us thankful hearts that we may see
All the gifts we share and every blessing
All things come of thee
All things come of thee
