My favorite Ritter piece, done masterfully by the ensemble. I love when adults and children combine to create music, underlying the importance of family and faith. I am officially a fan.
Thank you for your kind and thoughtful words. John Rutter is a treasure, and this piece really resonates with us. And you are right, these timeless messages of faith and family are why we sing! Thank you for your encouragement. 🎶

@@thesmithensemble4053 - well ? Thank you for that! You have done quite a good effort on this Rutter piece. I certainly do hope that I get the chance of encountering Rutter a second time - if so. Still a wonderful anthem. A very close second place to a very liked anthem by John Rutter. And closely matching with some sadness for me! I lost my sister in law who passed away three weeks ago. This one I quite like. And reminding me that family is everything. The other one is ' Look to the day!'

It's just occurred to me. That I have a true story of an encounter with a couple of members of the Vicars Choral portion of the Wells Cathedral Choir back on October 25th of 2020 and two others of the choir at the White Hart Inn Hotel, in Wells in Somerset in England. I spent the Friday to the Monday of that particular weekend at Wells. I had just pulled away from the Festal Evensong service and had returned to the Hotel when I encountered the two gentlemen of the choir - the Senior Bass and the Countertenor and one of the latter's two sons. To which I had a splendid conversation with them, which lasted two hours from 4pm of the afternoon, to just about 6 pm. Halfway through this, we were joined by the older boy of the Countertenor. But also unfortunately the two gentlemen felt the requirements of use of the facilities. And promptly started to sing! The older of the two boys of the Countertenor grumbled.....
" Oh NO! NOT AGAIN!!!!!" He was - as you might guess, none too happy about that! The Members of the Vicars Choral require no excuse to start singing there. The grumble didn't stop the two gentlemen of the choir. Both carried on.. Much to the consternation of the older boy of the Countertenor.. " WILL YOU TWO .... SHUT UP!!!"
At this point of proceedings. I was highly amused by the situation and I am afraid that I made things a little bit worse for the young fellow. I knew something called " Merbeck " to which I sung this.....
