    Shouldn't the filter size setting be set on single instead of double?

      This setting is only relevant if you have a full container and have the machine grind automatically. If you only enter weighed amounts to be ground completely, no matter how much you enter, you always select the maximum setting, both for grind amount and filter size.

    What is the cup that you are using to collect the coffee grind? Is this from breville?

    • @AjusCafe
      @AjusCafe  ปีที่แล้ว

      No. That dosing cup is from Etsy.com

    OK try this, 11,5g IN 25g OUT in around 26+ seconds. Grind 4-5. Really depends on the coffee. Do not check the pressure. I know this is overdosed but single shot will never come good under 10g in my experience. Let me know how it went.

      I've tried more beans and anything above 10 chocks the flow. But you are right, it depends on some beans. I'll post another video soon using Lavazza and i get great Extraction with 8 - 8.5g as well, as I use 16g on double shot basket.

      @@AjusCafe Try grinding coarser with increased dose. Cannot compare to my grind size since I got separate eureka grinder. But from your extraction flow I can see that it's under extracted. So you either grind finer (that's what you did and it didn't improved) or increase dose. Many people think you cannot extract good single shot from BES but you can, just need to experiment. I would try 10,5g - 11g dose and coarser grind.

      @@B0Besh it could be your grinder. Still 10.5 - 11g seems high. In this video I suspect the freshness of beans. Here is the video I did with a more fresher beans than this, with a single cup and Bottomless PF to view the extraction - th-cam.com/video/Al4Sea1azqA/w-d-xo.html

    Anyway you can set the grind to drop 9.5g each time instead of manually weighting.

    • @AjusCafe
      @AjusCafe  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      How do you set 9.5g on the Grinder?

    • @yonyon8670
      @yonyon8670 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AjusCafe like instead of weighting exact 9.5g how about let the machine grind the exact amount auto 9.5g even when the top is full of coffee bean.

    • @AjusCafe

      @@yonyon8670 I guess you mean to set the Dose Amount on the Grinder. 2 things to keep in mind there.. 1. Dose Amount is not accurate. If you are lucky enough to set at 9.5g, if you change the beans or if the bean become a bit stale, there will be a big difference in the dose amount set. Also I bet you won't get the same grind weight if you dose it twice and weight them (without changing the dose amount). Reason is, the beans can be a bit oily and it can get stuck inside the grinder. So this dose amount is not reliable. And a 0.5g can make a difference in the taste of the espresso. 2. Storing the coffee beans on the top hopper is not recommended for days of storage, as it can be stale quickly. But it's ok to store there, as long as you finish it in a day or 2.

    You have to mix espresso before tasting!!! Because you taste only upper layer which is sour!

    Why dont you use the bottomless portafilter? It would be much more helpful for the viewers.

    Sorry bud, but I can pull a 7-gram single shot that's full bodied, non-acidic, and wonderful to look at. It just takes lots of practice.
