For all of you that want to save a lot of time, just take the top 4 bolts off the exhaust and take the ground/bolt off the engine block to the left of the starter connection. Don’t do the bottom 2 exhaust nuts. But If you do not take that ground off the block you can’t get the starter to move far from where it’s mounted. You can wiggle the starter in and out pretty easily between the left side of the exhaust to take it out. Just move the exhaust over to the right an inch or so and it’ll come out easy. The exhaust moves just enough. I’ve done at least 50 or more of these this way working at a GM dealership.
I live up in Winnipeg Manitoba and the garage said they had to take the catalytic converter off? The only charged me $467 for a rebuilt lifetime starter. So that’s not right. But the price was reasonable and it was a new rebuilt not just a used that’s CAD? It is a L.S. Fleet model. So the catalytic converter did not have to be taken off? Maybe I should check to make sure they put it back on? LOL

ty for this vid
Have a 2014 with the same engine bottom nuts for the exhaust won't budge.
Yeah I needed some heavy duty w-d40
@@key2cxldyt We tried PB blaster several times, still didn't budge. Ended up having it hauled to a shop.
Pb blaster and a breaker bar helped me
Acetylene torch is what I use to get them off
Sweet thanks
Is it a LS or SS? LS has to come out from bottom of car it I'm not mistaken
From the top is easier...doing 1 now
