I intendo to do it just like nintendo... sorry. watch live: / alpharad edited by: / dotcolinn Watch the full stream here: • Beating Pokemon the Wa... #alpharad #pokemon #pokemonemerald
the fact that it gives an all flying team as an example of a bad team is especially funny for this gen, considering the prevalence of superman teams in ADV OU
@@y8knsnsnzmzz "overwrought"? "unwieldly"???? I don't think you know what those words mean surely it can't be anxiety inducing and difficult to just bring magneton for the skarmory matchup
jacob jokes and all but he learned multiple things about pokemon in this playthrough, like badge boost, the battle tent and how running makes trainers look towards you
I took the bit of him running while trying to sneak past trainers as a bit, especially with his reaction of "How was I supposed to know? The guide didn't tell me!"
I don't wanna be that guy, but If it's doing what the guidebook says so you'll plant berries and grab potions. Why didn't you beat three trainers before Brawly? "You MUST defeat three trainers before you reach Brawly."
Jacob killing the sableye on accident while talking about how trash it was is the exact same way I lost Sillydillo, my sandslash, in my ruby nuzlocke. I was on the route between fortree and lilycove and one of the trainers had a milotic. I started complaining to my friends about how dumb it is to get milotic in gen 3 and zoned out, ignoring the fact that it was raining in the overworld and that it knew water pulse. I was going to switch to manectric since sandslash was in my lead spot but I was mashing A and not paying attention
ever since Alpharad's encounter with Team Star in Scarlet and Violet, im honestly not sure if it's a bit or not when he does stuff like running past the trainer causes them to look at you around 6:30
Shout out to ZeroLenny, though this would have been funnier if you followed the IGN online strategy guide rather than official walkthrough, purely for the banter
My favorite trainer is Lusamine, but specifically from USUM. Her redemptiom arc and her ability to move on from her husband and her research is some of my favorite writing in Pokemon. And shes hot and I have a thing for moms.
i think he is lying because papasea said the same thing he said in his video, ik its possible to see the same video but the phrases are very similar to just be a coincidence
@@flowerfloofs no he doesn’t but he’s got like 20ish videos on the exact same concept. No hate or anything, but it’s what built his channel up, and he even got inspired by the exact same channel Jacob mentioned. not saying anyone owns what, but I honestly thought they were going to collab when I saw the title. *edit redundancy
The energy I get from Jacob in this vid is like a 7 year old looking over his friend’s shoulder telling them how to play the game instead of playing the game himself.
Altering Cave was used for the E-Reader in Japan. The E-Reader would scan event cards sold at the Pokemon Centers and change the cave to have encounters with the Pokemon on the card. However, the E-Reader was a massive commercial failure outside Japan, so those event cards were never released overseas.
Reminds me of myself when I was first playing Red, I had the guide back then too, it had the pokemon listed for each section you went to and which version you could catch them in
As a fellow Gen III enjoyer... Swellow deserves just as high a spot as those other Flying Types. Guts + Facade and that thing is wrecking shop all over Hoenn!
This feels like SmallAnt stole Jacob's body after spending 48 hours practicing in the mirror, and the real Jacob's mind is trapped in an isekai somewhere. And I love it.
the fact that it gives an all flying team as an example of a bad team is especially funny for this gen, considering the prevalence of superman teams in ADV OU
well I mean they can't all be flying type, where's ttar going to go??
Not all super man teams run ttar
Team sky is offended
adv ou teams are usually overwrought, unwieldly, and slow in actual gameplay. Why bring superman when no npc sets spikes

to be fair badge boost was only found in like the raw data of the games so it was extremely hard to know
@@JeskidoYT I think in some of the games the gym leaders mention that the badges give boosts, but I could be remembering wrong
Guide: Look at how bad this team is! It's all flying.
XYZ Ash: *Sweating profusely*
This just made me realize that ash’s gen 6 team was half flying type, and had 4 members who were weak to electric
Honestly a team of all flying types would absolutely demolish all but the 5 electric types we have to fight in hoenn
The forced reactions are absolutly perfect
But the genuine ones are even funnier
15:43 Absolutely love alpha going off on an adhd rant and forgetting he had to catch the thing, he's so real for that
I don't wanna be that guy, but If it's doing what the guidebook says so you'll plant berries and grab potions. Why didn't you beat three trainers before Brawly? "You MUST defeat three trainers before you reach Brawly."
As he said, it's not true. Must be one of the lies they came up with, like the White Herb that was supposed to be outside the flower shop
Alpha talking about how much he knows about the game after RUNNING to try and avoid a trainer earlier is sending me
Shoutout PaPaSea!
Nintended
I was just scrolling through his channel, watching his videos & I got this video recommended.
Yea!
heck yeah!!! love papasea's nintended videos!!!!
Great papasea, I mean Alpharad video!
PaPaSea has also been making Pokémon videos inspired by that MysteryOre Minecraft video. Wonder if Jacob has seen any of those.
it's more likely than not but he was probably inspired by the minecraft one first
Jacob having the most predictable top 3 trainers and his extremely bisexual explanations for each of them 💀
Still sad Wallace wasn't included.
He's so good with Water Pokemon, just looking at him make me wet!
16:50 the exact moment Alpha realized this challenge was boring to record
lol
Papasea, We love you.

i think you missed the point of this separate channel....
@@danieltsiu7383 I think you missed the joke
I love PaPaSea's series on this concept. I totally recommend checking them out, they have done this for a bunch of Pokemon games.

I was expecting him to mention PaPaSea, instead of a Minecraft video at the start. XD
Shoutout PapaSea for carving out his lane!
Guide books character is called walker and he wonders why they didn’t warn him that running would attract the attention of trainers. 😂
Aw man give PapaSea their credit for doing this with Pokémon beginning three years ago
16:43 he scratched his nose anime style
Gotta be honest the mention of the podcast hit kinda hard. That got me through many long shifts at work and now I’m upset again that it ended lol
w8 what's his podcast?
@@AquilaPainWhy It was called how did we get here with Coney. I got it on Spotify, not sure if it’s anywhere else

It’s a shame Ludwig canceled it
If you like this, a channel called PaPaSea has been doing similar videos for a while!
Was going to say something about that, yeah
I literally have this video popping up next to PaPaSea's Livestream on my feed. I thought maybe it was some Collab thing lol.
i was about to say lol, been a longtime viewer of sea and at first thought i was clicking on one of his videos lol i love this format
Oh yeah if I recall it was actually mentioned (not in this edited video) by some people in the twitch chat back when he first streamed this. :)
This man has done full Nuzlockes before I refuse to believe he doesn't know sprinting past a rotating trainer triggers them as opposed to walking
You'd be surprised how many people don't know that fact.
Nice collab with Papasea!
PaPaSea the OG
Ah, the PaPaSea method. Very nice.
It's so sad that alpharad killed not alpharad and took his channel. Smh I expected more of alpharad tbh.
Jacob never answered what his favorite final fantasy is
credit to Papasea
Papasea has entered the chat lol
Ah, so there are some other people playing the Pokémon games as Nintended. I see Papasea's series is starting to catch on.
Shoutout to papasea guys
Papasea would like to speak with you
This idea was great 2 years ago with papasea.

I… LOVE this video.
the mc of the guide being "walker" is so cute
That’s like if I told someone, “yeah, I’m a chef.”
And they responded with: “I LOVE food”
I legit love this. I want the full playthrough now
The early part of this feels like a psychotic break of some kind and I love the energy.

Ontop of picking out your team, a guidebook on Emerald os also the funniest one you could have chosen to bring in front of a green screen

I'm glad our type of pokemon trainers is the exact same in the exact same order. even if they're 3 beloved characters, it makes me feel less crazy
Mikey would not be happy about the fact that the guide said an all Flying team was bad

Oh this is basically what ZeroLenny does with the FROMSOFT games, where he follows the IGN guides word for word.
Pokemon, as nintendo intended, the nuzlocke.
Sounds like a damn good idea to me
The Loudred masterball moment will feed families
Alpha should have gone all in and feigned surprise to stall as he wrote out on a sticky note "you can hack in rare candies" and stuck it in the book
All that and the Battle Tent prize is a Full Heal, ouch

good team: mediocre
