That finale was more intense than any fights in the actual pokemon anime Which is funny, since "I came to the final battle without a full team of 6 and won" and "We're both down to our final pokemon and mine is at the disadvantage" have both definately happened in the anime
I'd saaaay... Ash VS Paul in the anime's gen 4 - which featured an Infernape's grudge match against one hell of an Electivire, which was Motor Drive speed-boosted from a previous bout in which it took down Pikachu - was _pretty_ goated. And what happened to Alpha here is absolutely of that level, in terms of stakes and drama. Now, this isn't me going "wElL, aCtUaLlY", right, because I played Pokémon Emerald Rogue myself and had one hell of a first run, so, I agree with your statement on principle. I'm only mentioning this fight because to me, whenever a personal adventure reaches that fight's level of awesome, then the game that allowed it is doing something right.
There's also the "no full team" bit in Gen 5 League, Ash v. Cameron. The dumb idiot thought "full battle" meant 5v5, but his anchor Riolu evolved into Lucario mid-fight, and he won (I think, it's been a while).

True but there are a lot of slow pokemon from Alola like Golisopod, Toucanon Decidueye, Primarina, are some examples Vikavolt being the worst as the dex says it's supposed to be fast.

I can think of three fast Pokemon off the top of my head from that region that aren’t legendaries, mythical, or ultra beasts and practically every other Pokemon that I can think of from that region off the top of my head moves slower than the rate at which paint dries. There are a few exceptions (Orichorio comes to mind) but this region had lots of extremes when it comes to stats.

The Professor Oak surprise at the end of the game is so cool to me. Like, I've heard there's data in the original red and green for an unused fight with Oak. Apparently he takes whichever starter neither you nor his grandson pick. Oh, and great job to Alpha, I can tell this would take a LOT of focus, even with his knowledge of the series :D
Yo that Excadrill came in so clutch with the outspeed at the end there. Only thing that was missing was Jacob screaming "My (Exca)drill is the (Exca)drill that creates the heavens!" To bring the Gurren Lagann reference full circle.

For the Moltres Draco Meteor segment: If this is emerald battle AI, then the draco meteor’s damage probably rolled so low that it wouldn’t have ko’d either Pokémon, so it chose a target at random.

Personally I like roguelikes for their "every run is different" aspect: there's more strategy involved than just "pick the best items in the game every single time" since the game is not guaranteed to give you said best item

Ferrothorn is a godsend for this game, if you manage to get one. Also, any mon with heat wave is mandatory for doubles, mono fire is the easiest mono type challenge (after water of course) because you can just start with a charmander with a y mega stone and a Torkol and just heat wave the shit out of everyone.
I'm just gonna point out the bangers selected for the background music and sound effects. Like, hearing Kid Icarus and Dragon Quest music here on top of a hilariously edited video is just great, and the sound effects like Paper Mario's "miss" adds to the hilariousness. Good job, whoever is picking the music.

4:00 When I was like 10 I was stuck on the elite four in black and white without any money to buy things, and because I thought the only way to earn money was to fight trainers, I ended up deleting the save.
He forgot to mention the gameshow and curse encounters. Also the strong trainer ones too. The gameshow encounter gives you a few guesses at left or right, and you can get something good or bad from it. This could include getting 5000 money, or getting a mon traded for a random one. The curse encounter is when you enter a graveyard and get to pick 1 of 3 perks, but also get a random curse as well. You could get something like improved crit rate but lowered catch rate. And the strong trainer is essentially a normal trainer that is slightly stronger than you. Also, sometimes it IS YOU!, with your exact same team. When you beat the trainer, you get to pick one to their mons to put onto your team.
Is it just me or do the sprites (though motionless) make the newer gen pokemon feel so much more lively and just feel and look cooler more than the 3D sprites
