It’s not that short. Not only is there the 7000 steps, but if you’re heading to white run, you will be on the opposite side of the mountain, so you’d then have to travel even further.

A fourth idea is to bring the vampire leader and Dawnguard leader to meet each other at their respective castles. And lastly, drag the leaders of the Companians and College of Winterhold to meet each other to solve the werewolf curse problem.
