    I really look forward to your videos. I’m in Columbus, Ohio but I think I might be headed your way for future fittings. I’ve been to Truspec and Club Champion and they’re great but there is just something more down to earth about a handicap golfer who just loves what he does doing the fitting.

      Well thanks for the feedback there is no secret my passion for the game is what got me started and my desire is no different from 80% of the rest of the golfing community, I want to play better and my quest to learn as much as I can has ultimately lead me to sharing that with the rest of the world. Thanks again and you are only about a 5 hour ride to the shop so if you are ever in the area then please look us up.

    Really enjoyed the course vlog! We’re all unique, so it makes sense that we have unique clubs. I loved listening to you explain not only what clubs and shafts you were using, but why it made sense for you and your swing 👍

    Your bag isn’t too far off from mine
    I game a ts2 with a speeder V 661 s shaft
    917 f with a diamana blue 70s
    Ping g410 hybrid with a Accra fx2.0 shaft
    Titleist ts2 with Accra fx 2.0
    Srixon 585/785 in iSteel 115
    Jaws 48, 54, and 58
    Toulon Atlanta putter 33 inches
    Srixon Z star ball.
    Everything is getting replaced this year except the ball. Wish your fitting place was closer I would definitely give it a try.

    Really great video - we are of relatively the same species in terms of club speed, swing style, height & complexion & handicap (I'm just of the slightly taller 5'9" 190# Scottish variety) so it was interesting to see the bag. We do a lot of similar things in our bag setups - saw your comment below on wedges the same length - couldn't agree more - mine are T20 56/14 bent to 52/10 (lots of chipping/like the c-grind for heel relief for slice-spin pitches), T20 56/10 bent to 57/11 and then a Taylormade Hi-Toe ATV sole-grind 60, bent to 62 - the crazy front grind is amazing out of harder sand and when you need a low bounce solution. I had a set a 919 Hot Metal Pros PW to 5iron, that I bent to (47,42,37,32,28,24), but the 6&5 always bothered me because the sole is too wide so your grind solution is spot on - I ended up going with HMB 6 & 5 for the thinner soles - so again, we did the same thing. Your shorter shaft length to flatten lie angles is what I've done on my hybrids - plus play them open 1 click. My #4 hybrid is the 22-degree #4 Gapr Hi, which I play open to 21 degrees, 1/2 short, and with a Steelfiber i110 X-Flex shaft - the small head is very playable out of different lies and that shaft is heavy enough to offset my midsized Align +4 grips and it is easy to shape. I also use a #3 Mizuno CLK_2020 hybrid, again 1/2 short, 1-click open with the heavy stout no upcharge Tensei White 94-gram TX-Flex shaft - this is my driving iron on short holes, bit of anti-left built-in, carry it 215. Love the content

    Nice video John, pleasure to watch. I do have a question? I noticed that your wedges had the same shaft as your irons. Do you recommend using the same iron shafts in your wedges? Did you go up in weight in your wedges or keep them all the same? TIA 👍

    • @SwingFit
      @SwingFit  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question I did decide to go with the same shafts as I consider myself to be more of a feel player and I just like a consistent feeling throughout the entire set. So In this situation I didn’t change weights or shafts in part because of how we build wedges here at the shop. Everything from the 9 iron down is the same length, something you dont hear any mention about in the industry but this is a practice that we’ve been fOllowing for years and have yet to receive any negative feedback on this approach or philosophy. In fact this just might be a great topic for an upcoming video. Thanks again for the question.

    Great what's in the bag just one question do you have a big gap between the 3 hybrid and your 5 iron

    • @SwingFit
      @SwingFit  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually don’t as I play two shots with my 5 iron. if I rock back on the 5 iron for a high shot it’s an easy 185-190, if I deloft it a bit it can get it to run out to 200-205. Now My Hybrid is more like a 215-220 club off the deck

    • @martinwilliams4759
      @martinwilliams4759 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi thanks it's just I do some thing very similar swing speed 78mph with 7 iron swing speed 93mph with driver so very slow I am 50 years old soon and got a bad back I use a 27degree pxg 6 iron and then a ping g410 22degree hybrid I hit 6 iron about 160y and the 4 hybrid about 180y but can fill the gap if have to but like the bigger gap the 5 iron did not go any further than the 6 iron

      @@martinwilliams4759 My father is in this swing speed range, and the club I found that can be a real gamechanger is the 26-27 degree hybrid - but also keeping that 27-degree iron. On the tee, with a perfect tee'd up lie, the iron is great, but when your 7-iron gets to 75mph (cold day, sore back, 1st few holes, etc), the 6-iron off the fairway is not getting enough height - enter the similarly lofted hybrid - it can make a big difference, depending on the tees you play, because you can often end up at this range coming into a green - especially if there are front bunkers to carry etc. From there, if you lose any speed at all, the 22-degree hybird, while better than an iron for sure, is almost always going to be beat with a 9-wood - just way more height for coming into greens. We adjusted this section of my father's bag, 5-iron (27-degrees) and 4-hybrid out and replaced with 6-hybrid & 9-wood and honestly it transformed his game - he was mid 90s, use to be about 88-90, and on bad days he was getting upper 90s - he's now back to shooting 88-92 just because of these 2 clubs being changed

    What's the loft on your gap wedge? 130 yards is strong.

    • @SwingFit
      @SwingFit  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      48 degrees, 125 is my normal distance with it but I will say gap wedges in iron sets generally will go a touch farther then a traditional gap wedge…

    How’s the gen4 hybrid vs Ping g425

    • @SwingFit
      @SwingFit  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Different footprints for sure, PXG is a little smaller, and I prefer the extra weight port on the bottom to dial in weight and face closure, but outside of that the numbers are comparable. So for this one it would likely come down to looks at address and whether or not if someone needed assistance with the right side miss.
