The cinematography ( is that the correct term?) Is amazing in this series. It's so beautiful and perfectly shot. Your guys ability for story telling is incredible as well. This is an amazing series! Thanks Matt and Stacey!!
I did a smaller trip like this in 2011/2012 with a 99 4-Runner “aka the 4-Funner” lived in a RTT for 8 ridiculously adventurous months, starting in NS CAN To BC CAN, down the west coast through the USA, MEXICO, BELIZE, GUATEMALA, and HONDURAS. 2 of us with our dog, it was epic. I tried to document it, but nothing like this. You guys are amazing! This makes me want to do it all again, and keep going!
Another EPIC video! The way you guys put videos together, and the choice of music is so perfect! Glad your camper is holding together with those rocky roads.
What a crazy road. You have certainly captured the feeling of what is like to travel it - talking about a cliffhanger. I love the drone shots of the road meandering through the mountain, thick jungle, and the clouds. Just the right amount of commentary. Excellent choice of music. Makes for a great story. Looking forward to the next one.
Amazing video, another beautiful insight into the people and country of Columbia and the drive was worth the epic prize at the end! You know I could smell the surf and turf and layer cake and put myself sitting there with you. Best parts of life are meals shared with friends - as always - much love 💖
Yup... You've done it again! Wonderful and beautifully shot... And the story telling is fabulous! Love you both and miss you so much but these videos really help❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Put it in gear and send it! Wow what a crazy trek that was congrats on making it unscathed. After being in the jungle all video and then boom that cathedral shot at the end was stunning. Another great video TWR!
Your comment about it being so different from the world we live in is spot on. Even before you said that, I was thinking how in North America, and other parts of the developed world, we call a road like a great adventure where it is an everyday necessity for those that live there. I also agree 100% about that abandoned police station. Those stains on the wall looked like a mass execution site, not to mention what other atrocities had occurred there. You guys' life is amazing, keep on living it.
Glad you agreed Phil! There was quite a lot of wow moments as we passed hundreds of cars and taxis clearly using this road as their “highway.” This journey we’re on teaches us something powerful every single day.
Congratulations love your Videos. I am Colombian live in the Usa and the most I miss is driving around the mountains of my Country is a real pleasure . Next time you go back to colombia need to stop by barichara santander, also visit (pueblo arrecho )in san gil, (cañon del Chicamocha) Thank you for visit Colombia
Thank you for watching! There was a large portion of Colombia we would love to come back and visit. For another trip we suppose. It’s one worth seeing twice!
@@ToyotaWorldRunners You both are welcome anytime. You still have plenty of places to go to. Llanos Orientales, Cañón de Chicamocha, Barichara, Villa de Leyva
Greetings from the other side of this gem Thanks for posting another beaut, Just as ya said, dangers are taxi drivers i was thinking locals would push themselves to piont of crashing or close call from constant driving over road being moaned at by passengers about padin fee with slower speed same with trucks, don't get paid till goods delivered, Wondering how many hit like button after young lady reminds us too ? 💯👍🤙🖖
I pedaled my bike up this road from Mocoa to Pasto in 2017. That police checkpoint was still staffed at the time and there was a little restaurant there. I ended up having to sleep in one of the sheds because of the pouring rain. There are definitely wilder roads in Colombia and all over South America, but the heavy traffic and rain made this one way worse.
How is the safety in that area? I want to go there to explore the ethnobotany but I heard it's a bit sketchy. I also rode my pedal bike around Colombia around 20 years ago, I think I spent 3 months there.
Yeah that's not the type of road you just send it on.🤣 Especially with a bad translation name of Death Trampoline. 😂 As always you guys. Thanks for taking the time and energy to create another epic piece of Cinematography. And always safe travels you guys. ❤
Crazy ass road! As usual a amazing story. I could smell those steaks cooking! Now are you gonna leave us hanging in suspense over that church in the last shot? What the heck is that all about?🤨
In deed, it a very dangerous road. The biggest problem is the traffic. The Taxis, pickups, they just fly. It rains a lot, and you really dont want to be cought in the middle of it at night, it happened to me. The road gets washed out, and the land slides can happen in any moment, and its game over. Mocoa, heading towards , the jungle, is not friendly, and no one should aventure at night, or for that matter, day. Its where the Farc, abd Coca plants are, and, the scenery is amazing, not good for adventure. Now, this road head to Ipiales, but, before that, the the Laguna de la Cocha, a lake, with a town built on it, main dish, trout. This laguna, for a moment there, you would think, your in Holand. Now with all of its hype and inconviniances, Any true overlander, will do this the trampolin of death. Now, the reward and the end, Ipiales, is that you get to see the most beautiful Church, carved out from the mountains, by the locals, and this, is the amazing feat, soince most of the churches in LATAM, where built by Spaniards. The country, it self is amazing, so its people, and its a shame that the security is always on the mind, but then, this is what makes it a great country for adventure. I spent many years there, before returning to my native Spain, but will always carry this country in my heart. The drone shots are great !! and everyelse too. Subscribe many months ago !
I agree with @philgriswold2133 Many roads and places in Colombia and South America are like the route of death, it is true that for many people these roads are a necessity while for us they are just a playground.
Ok guys I'm Australian living in Manizales for 7 years, I tour everywhere on a touring bike, I love your videos but i think you need to when you edit your videos don't just say where your going write the destination on the screen because as you know how you spell it it's not exactly how you say it and of course places are not written in english, You say alot of places you go but i cannot find because it's written in spanish
I've seen in Nepal the army using explosives to blast the side of mountains in combination with an excavator to remove the rocks and shape a road. Maybe they did so in a similar way, considering it was the built for the army. 😉
Despite TH-cam being our job, we make our films for us first. We love incorporating the cinematography with the vlog style, and probably won’t be changing that anytime soon. It’s fun diving into both and blending them. Thank you for watching!

The road was carved into the mountains. Very narrow in places, handled it with ease. Two very cool Toyota's. Keep on rollin Landcuriser Chinook.

Happy Thanksgiving to you!
Dude that road is insane that reminds me that road to Hanna in Maui you guys are amazing I enjoy every part of your adventures thanks happy new year .
Definitely similarities!! Just less new vehicles 😂 thank you so much for being here!

We saw a couple bikers. Y’all are impressive to be riding these roads. Definitely more worried about the other drivers than the road itself.
Got two flats on this road somehow. The only punctures I got driving around a good chunk of South America. Love these kinds of roads though!
Crazy! Not the best spot to change a tire..
Yeah that's not the type of road you just send it on.🤣 Especially with a bad translation name of Death Trampoline. 😂 As always you guys. Thanks for taking the time and energy to create another epic piece of Cinematography. And always safe travels you guys. ❤

That’s amazing!
Las Lajas Basilica. It was amazing!
Crazy ass road! As usual a amazing story. I could smell those steaks cooking! Now are you gonna leave us hanging in suspense over that church in the last shot? What the heck is that all about?🤨
Thank you Murray! Sometimes we love the mystery 😉 it is a Basilica located in the town of Las Lajas!
Is that a MB plate vehicle you’re traveling with there?
Definitely out of their element here 😂😂

Roads with “ death” in the name are so scary
Gonna make a weekend at Side Bay a little anticlimactic…
Ooooohh how we love Side Bay though…
Odd question haha but how is you set power fridge holding up?
That guy's a champion! Hasn't turned off in 1 year, no complaints.
