Yep, but there's a large gap in between the 2nd and 3rd positions. Its even more confusing once you toss the FAL and G3 into the mix too. In the end, doesn't matter, AUG is a prooven platform that has lasted half a century.
Since I recorded this after my wife & mother's birthday dinner, yes there was some bread. No circus around as far as I know though. Not unless those weird ass clowns are coming back in 2024?
I've owned 2 of them, so i say this lovingly but..its the bullpup with a receiver made from a piece of roof gutter pipe lol. Seriously, look at it. Its amazing. Back in the early 2000s, the M17s was about the only AR15 mag compatable bullpup on the market, and that was very important thanks to the Fed. AWB in effect at the time. It has some interesting Aussie roots too.
The AUG has am adjustable trigger but does not come adjusted from the factory. You have to do it. If you take your stock off and look at the trigger bar you will see a hex nut. That is the trigger adjustment nut. TnSteyr has a video on how to adjust it. HUGE difference!
Exactly....instead of a person insisting that all their firearms be molded to them and conform to what they want; why not try learning a new skillset and adapting yourself to different firearms? You might just discover you like the new way even more too.
Not changing is kind of my problem lol. I probably try it more to keep up with modern times but....I just want to be myself and talk about things i enjoy.
Managed to pick up a P90 parts kit back in 2012. Someday I'll pick up an original PS90, the green non-picatinny railed version like they are supposed to be, and use the original barrel to SBR it. Also managed to score a P90 cleaning kit, the kind that goes in the stock, that PS90's for some reason never came with.
No shame here, I dig my Aug...and I'm an AR fan-boi. Every time a friend of mine picks up the Aug and runs a mag, they all say..."I gotta get one these".
Yep, bullpups have a certain reputation but if someone actually tries firing them, more often than not, they are pleasantly surprised. Not all the time of course but often.
I like all three you ended up with. I wish say the a3 with steyr spec mags release etc. is what I own. There is a tactical tuna at local gun pusher. The guy wants 2750.00 no budge. I just can't do it. I've been drooling over your cast off vhs 16". Never known. Great video as always. The dillweed abides!
$2.7k for the Tactical FS2k? yeah i probably wouldn't do that myself either; but if it were a 'Standard' edition with the optic? Then that would be a great price for that version here in 2024.
It is the standard. Boxed optic ect. Just sorta afraid of breaking parts. I would want to shoot it some. That's a lot of money for me. Just got the m70 uf from atlanticfirearms. In the process there. Pistol grip para furniture from apex, optics mount ect. If I run into more $ maybe on the fn. I have fondled it and it is cool.
$2.7k is about $1k under the market price today for an FSK2 Standard. As to breaking parts? Simple; don't do that j/k. Being serious, this is just something everyone with a gun that isn't an AR15 or AK47 should think about. The US Aftermarket is pretty good and responsive though and if there's a demand for parts, someone will make something. This is even more true in the day of 3D printing.@@nedanschutz
Have around a dozen bullpups. Love them. Only one of them is a shotgun (keltec ks7). Have more ars. Have more aks. Love weird junk too. Aug and ps90 are probably tied for me. I recently got the tavor 7 and keltec rfb. Both of those are amazing. RFB feels like an over gassed 556. I guess Im a bullpup guy. I would love a sa80 too.
@@markp4401 i own 6-7 keltecs rifles. (If I don’t know the exact number of my guns my wife can’t get mad). Only one had a warranty issue and they fixed it for free. I broke the stock fooling around. Man, i own 2 Ross bolt action rifles. So i am used to having firearms with known shortcomings lol. Not every gun has to be perfect. Plus hey, there's no one signle gun that's right for every single situation, know what i mean?
Looks like you have enough room for a bayonet on your x95 with that handguard for the sbr version. If you could have acquired and installed a lug on the barrel before pinning and welding the hider. That would have been a unique version. I wish the x95 had kept the lever mag release or at least in addition to the push-button so there could be two easy ways. The FS2000 is so expensive used and I would be worried if I needed parts that aren't around. That tubular eject out the front is cool though. Only copied similarly by KelTec. I've never had a ps90 in hand to check, but is most of the barrel an extension or sleeve that is pinned and welded on? If so, it could be possible to undo that and have your preferred SBR version and still have an FN barrel. I think the STG-77 not having the original one piece receiver may have harmed sales to collectors.
I like the concept of bullpups, they're just so out of the box. I have to go with the AUG, the barrel change out option is just too cool. Been nice spending the evening with you Misha, cheers.
I like bullpups but I don’t care much for the looks of the VHS. I’m considering getting one though because it’s developing quite a good reputation. Things tend to grow on me too. A VHS might look pretty cool to me in a few years.
100% agree with you. I got my first one thanks to Sammy the Dworf tipping me off to where one was in-stock right as they were coming out. That + me just being bored got me to try it. Funny thing is, that was how I fell for the CZ 805 Bren and ARX100 too.
Yes, it is a bit short but...i love the weight reduction having it + the shorter top rail gives the firearm. It balances perfectly over the grip area now IMO.
@@misha5670 If it works, it's not weird, so I'll get used to it. A mag fed lever gun with rails and M-Lock may look too goofy for words, but if it's more practical, then we FUDDS!! will just have to get with the program.

It’s hard for me to believe the technology isn’t there to put nicer triggers on bullpups. Maybe it’s a cost thing. I do agree that people tend to complain about them too much though.
Not so much a cost thing as it is a reliability thing. A lighter spring often equals the hammer striking the primer with less force. When i put a better FCG in my Tavor SAR, its reliability with lower end ammo like steel case went down.
