In boot camp we had A2s. From 08-11 we didn’t have a back up rear sight, just an RCO. Not everyone got those side mag pouches, and it came with a peq15 and after 09 we got the peq 16. Whatever the armory issued you really. Also we were had SureFire flashlights, and a grip pod if you didn’t get a knights one. Otis cleaning kit also was issued over the green cleaning kit. Team leaders had a 203. If you were cool with the armorer you could get a m4 with 203
While not an expert, Japanese history/hardware has been a hobby of mine for decades now. That's why I do quite a few Arisaka/Nambu videos on this channel, and have done many videos on Japanese planes & warships over on my personal channel. I should do more on Imperial & JGSDF tanks someday too.
No, but for a good reason. Telling a 'faux' one from original ends up being a very visual thing. I have always worried about getting ripped off or simply making a mistake.@@chrischiampo7647
I got to see a non serial numbered prototype in person from a private collection amd the guy was pretty mello about what he had in his collection of FALs and a couple hundred 1911s
Anyone ever get into the Punisher: Armory comics from the 90s? Some cool stuff in those, one of the issues has the DEA/DOE AR 9, as well as other cool, vintage ARs. They were set up just to feature the Punishers gear, in full, single page layout. The main guy behind it knew his stuff pretty well, too! Especially considering he was in comics, usually notorious for such firearm community faux-pas as Ice Cubes reference to shotgun "bullets" or the like.
Hope you have a great night Misha, always takes me back to pre social media days listening to you and reading the comments like old forum days on the akforum
The amount of knowledge, down to the smallest details that he has, is absolutely mind-boggling. I learned alot of details I never knew about this platform. The AR platform is the most successful weapons system in human history, and it continues to be improved upon, especially thanks to the commercial market.
In 2024 in the U.S. with 7.62x39/5.45x39 ammo prices, there's no reason to not own an AR-15, it can replace the role of your AKM in real world usage. For under $800 there's Rock River Arms/FN-barrel platform ARs (budget Mil-Spec accuracy for way under $1K). Even new Romanian/Serbian AKs are becoming collectible & going up in value, so why not shoot AKs less & shoot the cheaper rifle that takes cheaper ammo more?
I am the opposite- I jump right into ARs and have yet to pick up an AK I did snag an AUG thanks to Misha- for what I spent upgrading trigger and charging handle I could almost bought me a PSA AK 😅 What would you recommend if it was your one and only and you want it to work with most other variants- partswise- if possible. Nothing terribly expensive- but something I can get fixed- if need be- I guess that is what drew me to an AR is the ability to interchange almost all the parts.
I’ve had both the AR just is what it is. It’s “gun” that’s it. At least mine had the carry handle aesthetic I like the Vietnam commando weapons but these new range queen ARs bore me to tears
oh damn I'm 30 min at at 4am and said "ok i'll go to bed after this" when I started. I just looked how much longer thinking this is getting long. It's a nearly 4 hour video🤣guess I'll come back to it tomorrow
I wish I could remember what it was I shot in basic in the Air Force back in 2001. I'm pretty sure it was an old A1, but I can't remember for sure and I wasn't really that interested in the history at the time so didn't pay much attention. What I know for sure - it was old. Had the old A1 triangle handguards, full auto and everyone else had burst and it had a forward assist. The instructor was giving me crap for getting the old POS and how the only cool thing about it (full auto) - I couldn't use.
Really they only had the AR17, and i think by the point 'AR' was tradition over at Coasta Mesa. BTW: AR = Armalite Rifle is from Chris, who got it from Stoner...so yeah, pretty sure of the factoid? Of course its always possible there can be 2 meanings for the same 1 thing *shrug*.
Is shooting an Armalite, Howa or Sterling AR 180 a bad idea? I don’t know how robust they are or if breaking a firing pin or other part is too much of a risk.
Please forgive me, as I am new to the AR platform can you do a review of an AR 18 and the difference between that and the A.R. 15 I think I’ve heard that there is a model AR 18 if this is not true then just forget what I mentioned, but again I am new to this platform. I am one of the new Pandemic buyers. Thank you.

I love your content Misha
The 7075 alloy was created by Sumitomo during the 30s for the Mitsubishi A6M Zero

Thanks so much for the content as always.
I’m a tough dude but there is something about your deep dives that relaxes me.
Really appreciate it.
Love your videos. Not only is your knowledge incredible, but your narration is superb. I can’t say thank you enough.
Thanks so much Misha. I just finished watching the entire video and I plan on watching it again.

How are you qualifying success? I’d say the AK and Browning 1919 are the most successful

Love The Big Super Long Videos Especially This Armalite Video This is My At Least 50th Time Watching It 😊😀😊😇 Misha Thanks For These Videos
Oooooooooh Yeaaaaaaaaaaa Been Waiting on This Sooooooooo Much Thank You Misha 😊😊😊😎😀❤️❤️❤️👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
What a way to kick off the long weekend. Will enjoy this one.
Dutches rifle in predator was a m16a1/sp1 rifle with faux m203.
As an AK dude he makes AR's seem interesting enough for me to entertain getting one.

Open your mind, one isn’t better than the other. It’s like the tards that claim to be a Chevy guy, a K5 blazer is awesome and so is a 79 Bronco.
You’ll travel down the AR rabbit(rat) hole quickly after getting your first AR.
I am the opposite- I jump right into ARs and have yet to pick up an AK

Nice
Awesomeness!
I kind of dig the triangular hand guards. Cool looking and I find them more ergonomic too.
I like them as well.
Considering some of the guns in Armalite's AR series were shotguns, are we sure AR doesn't just stand for ARmalite, not Armalite Rifle?
That’s one of those debates we can go around and around on. I’m leaning towards armalite.
Grandad was USAF, 1955-58.
I think he mentioned a 22 Hornet survival rifle.
Yep, the M4 came in in '49 and the M6 as early as '52. So it could have been either one (or both?)
Didn't think to ask him, but I'm pretty sure it was the bolt-action.

You are more likely to break the BHO device.
