I want your expwrt advice on this!!! I have a dell 3521 laptop which is old. And I am converting into a gaming box to play on my tv. As dell laptop cannot run without working sceen panel. My screen is somewhat fine and when system boots it first searches internal display and then it displays on external tv through Hdmi I want to ask if I just remove the small board attached on the display screen and connect it with my laptop with attaching the entire glass panel , will it work? I just want to make a small gaming box withour dell glass screen and attach it with tv hdmi.
If i am correct , you wish to use TV as monitor and remove the laptop screen. you wish to use only the keyboard and mainboard part of your laptop. In the above case, you can disconnect laptop's internal display, connect the TV via HDMI and then boot the laptop. it should work. If no image is displayed on TV screen, press Fn + F8 or specified key. If this works then you can remove the display case and use the laptop as independent gaming device but WiFi may not work as the antenna is situated in the display casing. I am sorry, i didn't understand which small board you mentioned about.
@@GOODTIMEStech Thanks for the reply!! Actually in Dell inspiron 3521, when you power on the system, the preboot assessment looks for internal display first and then the external one. So if I am completely remove the display from laptop, it gives display error beeps and it will not go further even if you have connected the external monitor as well. Therefore, in dell 3521, you need a working internal display(even if its broken) to go past the pre boot assessment test and then you can use the external display. What I am trying to achieve is that, I checked that there is a small chipboard attached to the lcd display(invertee board) where the display cable is inserted.. So If I just tear out that inverter board and connect cable to it, can the laptop will assume that there is an internal display attached (no lcd panel, but just the inverter board)?

Instead of removing the backlight you can select "do nothing" in power settings _sub settings _ "when i close the lid". By doing this when you close the lid only back light will be OFF and rest all will be working without hindrance.( you can do the operating by using external mouse and keyboard as everything will be displayed on the external display)

As you know the motherboard is small, I would like to remove the screen completely. I found out that if I remkbe the backlight cable, it still works on my external display. Now, here is the main thing. The inberterboard is attached to the display panel three more flex ribbon cable(ther are soldered). And one small connector(which is backlight connector and cable ks removable, so I tested without it). I dont unverstand what those three rlex ribbon cables being soldered the inverter with lcd display panel are? If I tear them off, what is going to happen..
It depends upon the fault sir, in this video the fault was only dry solder joint and costs only service charge but if any components will be faulty then it costs extra depending upon what component has failed. Thank you. Have a GOODTIME.
