Hello Sir ! , when i open / close laptop the screen turns yellow near the hinges and bottom , clearing visible on black screen / brightness bit increased, if i touch the screen also the colour changes in the bottom . Whenever you open close laptop the pressure is there , and yellow it appears
My son's laptop broke one of the hinge mounting points on the screen. Took it apart and glued the hinge to the screen using epoxy. Adjusted the hinges according to the video and it now works again with no issues. Thanks for having a clear and concise video on how to address this problem.

My Dell was too stiff also, and it delaminated the top. Sent to Dell, they fixed it, but was just as stiff as before. You'd think they would 'calibrate' the hinges, but NO! Now the top is doing the same thing. Thanks Techstore for this info (that Dell techs need to learn.)
WOW! My dell 3520 became unreasonably stiff in a single move, and threatened to rip itself apart. I thought it had been dropped. Thanks to you, I realized I could grip the hinge itself and force it to open without damaging the screen. Now I will follow you here and repair the stiff psycho hinge myself. I wish I had seen this video before! Unfortunately, the hinges on mine broke out of nowhere and the display frame started to come apart. Luckily it was still under warranty and got it repaired, but I knew this was a design flaw. Many people on the internet reported this same issue with the same model, the Dell technical himself acknowledged it and recommended opting for Latitude model laptops, since those are sturdier. I also had an issue with my touchpad, it went absolutely crazy at times and was completely unresponsive. I solved it by unscrewing and removing it, then gently cleaned it with a cotton swab and reinstalled it. After that, the issue was gone. Maybe the connector was loose or there was some dirt on it, but I’m glad my computer is working correctly now. I like how fast it is, but I wish they used sturdier materials for the body

Thanks for the video. I've just had a similar issue and after seeing your video I disassembled mine and boy is it hard to adjust. Because my model is a 2-in-1 (Inspiron 17 7706) there's a total of four nuts I must calibrate and the space between them is so tight. I gave up since no spanner/wrench can fit in that gap. Dell clearly doesn't want you to fix their products.
This works, But doesn't need to take apart the screen. I did it without removing the screen and the. The covers of the hinges can be removed while the screen is attached. And can adjust the hinges with needle nose pliers. But anyway thank you for the video ❤️
Thanks Sir🙏 for this video. Have a Inspiron N5010 and one of the hinges had gotten tight and was not closing down the lid all the way. I was about to order new hinges. Came across your video and adjusted the screw on the hinge and it solved the problem. For the N5010, you need to break the hinge cover tabs to remove the black plastic cover so you can access the hinge adjuster screw. I had tried once to repair the problem thinking it was an alignment issue but could not see the hinge mechanism due to black the hinge cover. You saved me the cost of hinges. Thanks. I was procrastinating this issue for months but as you mentioned in the video, the additional stress can damage the display and also damage the plastic parts due to stress application.

I saw that one of the hinges was almost gonna pop, my sisters laptop which is a HP 15S have this problem and its hinge is broken. Thank you very much for your video. One hinge on my laptop snapped off the plastic mounting and started to damage the display case. With your video and some JB Weld original cold weld epoxy, I reused the hinge, re-seated, and epoxied it in place. Over time, these hinges tighten, which leads to the damage. It took me a few adjustments to the hinge bolts to get the tension right. I noticed that I could reassemble the case with the hinge covers removed, thus allowing me to adjust the hinge bolts until the tension was right. It seems one of the display bezel's snap clips near the formerly broken hinge broke, so there is a slight gap where the bezel is not flush against the case, but it is barely noticeable and should not cause problems.
Thank you Anand, this is a good explanation. Inspiron 5401/5408 I bought got that issue after 1 year of purchase. I am so disappointed since it wasn't my fault, I believe it is a manufacturing defect. I moved to another country, and DELL didn't support me in the place where moved.

No bro because as he said it's a hardware issue ..so I I'm also a dell customer so dell provide warranty of hardware if it's comes under there scope of support.. thy will wil support until there is no damages by customer.
There have been cases where dell has provided free service even when the unit was out of warranty as they have accepted it as a manufacturing defect. You need to go through the right channel to claim.
Me too purchased on 1st November 2021 one left hinge got broken and display and plastic in between it got cut off and shown in the video what are you going to do now

I managed to calibrate the hinges but after putting all the parts back, my laptop won't turn on + the LED won't light up when charging. No idea what went wrong. I’ve a broken hinge on my 3511 here that I’d purchased back in November. Thankfully, the rep was helpful, and a mail-in repair will be performed. Will probably do what is shown here to loosen up the hinges. I like this laptop. Just the hinge appears to be a sore spot.

Hello Sir. Purchased a DELL Inspiron 15 3511 on May 2022 for my daughter but was used only a few times. The hinges are good for now, will loosen the screws. But for me is the problem of CPU temperature, which often is more than 90degC, yes looks like their cooling solution is a disaster. Except for a cooling pad, reduced speed on bios, and maybe changing the thermal paste, is there another solution? Thank you.

I've decided I'm going to do this job. I had to buy a 5.5mm socket...which will be here on Monday. Do you think I'll do a good job....I put new RAM in my laptop, no problems. I am a senior and not tech savvy, But I do know how to turn a screw. I am not sure why it was necessary to disconnect so many items inside the computer just to loosen the hinge screw. No way I'm taking that much apart, I'll just open with 2 hands.

Oh, noh. We have the same dilemma. I purchased mine in February this year. Went to the shop where I purchased it yesterday with the receipt and was advised that it's not covered by the warranty. Even though this is not caused by users' negligence. Sadly, there's no Dell service center in Cebu. :( So I am planning to just look for a trusted shop who can fix the hinge for me.
I have got a DOA letter from Dell for the replacement of inspiron 15 3515 model but this model already have manufacturing defect , my laptop have heating and hinge issues. What should I do? They are giving me the same laptop model in replacement .
My problem with my Huawei Matebook 13 is that even before the hinge starts moving, the display has a a lot of excess play and it kinda pries the top and bottom panels of the keyboard apart. Dell is not replacing the 3525 under warranty even though its the same casing. We are going to have to do a self repair to fix it,

Fixed same day. I found that hinges can be adjusted without disassembly.

They cover it in my country when the hinge broke that is a manufacturing defect. Especially if it is widespread.
Its only five day after the warranty date , I'm facing this problem now, will they resolve it ( dell service)

I just purchased dell 7420 2 in 1 laptop..is hinge quality improved in this model?
I am facing same problem at the moment now, What are the reasons for this issues generate?

I managed to calibrate the hinges but after putting all the parts back, my laptop won't turn on + the LED won't light up when charging. No idea what went wrong. I tried reconnecting the VGA cable but it still won't work.
It seems this happened to other people in the comments too, so if someone found a solution, please reply 🙏

Dell refused to fix it whereas laptop still under warranty

I’ve a broken hinge on my 3511 here that I’d purchased back in November. Thankfully, the rep was helpful, and a mail-in repair will be performed.
Will probably do what is shown here to loosen up the hinges. I like this laptop. Just the hinge appears to be a sore spot.

So, I loosened the hinges of new laptop after watching your video.
1st time screen didn't start, So, I had to open again to properly insert VGA connector.
Now it's working like butter.

Hello Sir. Purchased a DELL Inspiron 15 3511 on May 2022 for my daughter but was used only a few times. The hinges are good for now, will loosen the screws. But for me is the problem of CPU temperature, which often is more than 90degC, yes looks like their cooling solution is a disaster. Except for a cooling pad, reduced speed on bios, and maybe changing the thermal paste, is there another solution? Thank you.

Sir,i have a asus tuf a15,when i open the lid it makes a popping noise in the screen bezels near the hinge,it had happened in the warranty period where the service center loosened the hinges and it worked fine then.Now suddenly the noise has started again, is it something to worry of?

Yes absolutely.
@@TechstoreCoIn good.. I went to a mechanic and he did it but it took him a lot of time because first it got too loose and then after many attempts he was able to synchronize them. He said hinges will be hardened with time again..

I've decided I'm going to do this job. I had to buy a 5.5mm socket...which will be here on Monday. Do you think I'll do a good job....I put new RAM in my laptop, no problems. Looks like a lot of wires to reroute. Great job on the video!

It should but it is fairly easy to readjust if needed. I just did mine following this video.

I am a senior and not tech savvy, But I do know how to turn a screw. I am not sure why it was necessary to disconnect so many items inside the computer just to loosen the hinge screw. No way I'm taking that much apart, I'll just open with 2 hands.
Hi, did you hear any noise on that laptop? Coz mine qas having a problem also with that hinge, and then has a fan noise. And the battery life takes only for 2 hours.

Oh, noh. We have the same dilemma. I purchased mine in February this year. Went to the shop where I purchased it yesterday with the receipt and was advised that it's not covered by the warranty. Even though this is not caused by users' negligence. Sadly, there's no Dell service center in Cebu. :( So I am planning to just look for a trusted shop who can fix the hinge for me.

I have got a DOA letter from Dell for the replacement of inspiron 15 3515 model but this model already have manufacturing defect , my laptop have heating and hinge issues. What should I do? They are giving me the same laptop model in replacement .
Get your money back from your supplier or ask him to replace with another model

My problem with my Huawei Matebook 13 is that even before the hinge starts moving, the display has a a lot of excess play and it kinda pries the top and bottom panels of the keyboard apart. Thanks for this video, now I kinda get whats going on. It seems like the screws that attatch the hinges to the keyboard chasis got loose. Ama check this out just as soon as I find the damn pentalope screwdriver
