I think you misunderstood vegeta intention and the situations. 1st this form is fine. He is a kinetic absorber. Meaning every punch increases his power. Every kinetic absorber has a limit to how much they can absorb before taking actual damage. To vegeta these were fights against the 2 strongest mortals in the universe that so that stop gap is going to be used quickly. The form isn't like Bergamo who gets bigger each time he absorbs damage he literally gets stronger each time he's hit. No bulking muscles just altogether stronger. 2nd The problem with it isnt the form its vegeta trying to rush it. Hes rushing a form he just got that day. Like how ultra instinct sign was cool till goku ran out of time. He states to goku that his ultra ego is evolving with each blow. In these battles he does 2 things to note that he's rushing things. 1 he tells his enemy the purpose of his transformation and how it works. 2. He literally leans into every punch given except a few major hits. A kinetic absorber who doesn't want to have his power discovered doesn't lean into every punch. A kinetic user whose power is known picks and chooses which damage to intake to increase their power. The next portion is the unexplored. Goku and vegeta meet gas and granolah. The first thing vegeta notes about granolah power is that granolah has just received them recently. Granolah even notes that he doesn't even know a name for the moves he uses but we know thanks to vegeta that granolah does use destruction energy. A power he trained exclusively in this battle its a power vegeta barely used in both fights. As a user of destruction he has to be careful not to destroy the planet he's on and the enemy has to be conscious of it too. Gas who just recently got abilities just then could have destruction abilities. It's best not to use them with such an unknown. Granolah had an occasion to try his abilities before getting in an actual battle. Gas just up and had them. If either opponent trained afterward they would have found more abilities.
If you love goku so much that you go ahead and ramble about everything that you haven’t even seen about vegeta then pls dont even watch db or read the manga because you dont deserve to
For the love of Vegeta, someone please tell me the name of the song at 10:00. I can't remember where I know it from and it's amazing! Edit: And 2 minutes later I remembered xD. Asura's Wrath theme!
Ultra Ego would be genuinely useful if it tanked great amounts of damage entirely and converted it into power instead of letting Vegeta actually get hurt, and then an enemy would actually have to put absurd amounts of effort into the task of "overloading" Ego's tankability. But no, he just takes damage normally instead... :P
Then it'd actually be the yin to the yang of Ultra Instinct, where Ultra Instinct is about avoiding damage as efficiently as possible, Ultra Ego is all about tanking damage and becoming stronger from it, with it's only counter being to overload it with so much power that it kinda just self destructs in some way, that'd actually be really useful (as long as your opponent can't easily overload it) and they even both have Ultra in their names so with a slight change to Ultra Ego's name it could make sense cenonically
I always called it Ultra Masochist 😂 they basically gave themselves an extra excuse to get him beat into a pulp for no reason other than humiliate him and make Goku look better at the same time.
i feel bad for dragon balls. y’all can’t even have the reading skills to appreciate all the different things the series lmao. if that’s all you think about ultra ego you didn’t understand it at all. and goku literally got his ass beat with ultra instinct so what are you talking about

@@diddly-squat9332 however, ue broke the internet. In addition, vegetas controls the west side of the continent. When the second character outshines the main one , that should tell you something
@@Paulovrish7334 LOl to say he controls the whole west side is a CRAZY stretch, plus the only reason vegeta has been getting so much praise is because they make goku an idiot, they treat goku like he's the alien and as if vegeta grew up on earth. Casual anime Guy explains it perfectly, with goku forgetting what meditation, what a kiss is, the way they make goku only care about training and vegeta some how being the family man, The way goku started the top . All that is just off the top of my head and all from super, which is the character assassination of goku, OF COURSE people are going to like vegeta better, its literally impossible to like Goku over vegeta. If you'd say vegeta's character is better then goku I would 100% agree because the way super ruined goku's character is undeniable, but to say he outshiens him is crazy.
I think the biggest issue with ultra ego is they completely betray the gimmick of the form by making him turn weak again when he takes too much damage. When he's on death's door after the obligatory jobbing session, Ultra Ego shouldn't stop doing what it's supposed to do, Vegeta shouldn't be kneeling down, clutching his arm, and dropping out of the form, that's the moment where he should be turning the main villain into a smear on the floor. Unfortunately, Vegeta is never allowed to defeat a main villain, no matter what.
@@Persac7 Let's compare this with Super Saiyan's "First Time Using It" or Ultra Instinct's "First Time Using It" The AURA. The POWER. The unmitigated, unbridled STYLING on absolutely everyone at the hands of Son Goku. Contrast this with Ultra Ego, where on his first, second, and THIRD TIME, Vegeta uses it to lose faster. It's not just a transformation that ultimately jobbed like ssj3 did, Ultra Ego is nothing less than The Definitive Jobber Transformation.
Everyone keeps saying vegeta will master this power in time. Well once that happens goku will already move in to a more powerful form making this form useless. It never ends and that whit this video is telling us. Vegeta needs his own spinoff that the only way he can get the justice and respect he deserves.
That likely won't happen tho.. not canonically linked to the main series at least 😂😓 Vegeta was and likely always will be the character catching up, and Goku the character raising the hype again with an improvement, leading Vegeta to grow stronger once more..
Actually tho. I feel like everyone reading or watching dragon ball right now don’t even care about story or the characters they just want to see mindless fighting which isn’t what dbz was, at least not to this degree.
Personally, ultra ego should’ve been introduced as a concept much earlier. We could’ve had it be mentioned back in res f when whis was pointing out goku and vegeta’s flaws. Beerus could’ve then interjected saying that Vegeta isn’t fit for that and offer him GOD training instead. The form came out no where and was just an excuse to catch vegeta up. I also hate how a GOD power can rival ultra instinct which is an angel power. Angels are wayyy stronger than GOD so how is Vegeta expecting to catch up. He eventually did but in return they had to nerf UI
Yeah Goku and Vegeta's Divine Transformations have become such a mess in the Granolah Arc, Goku went from "Mastering" Ultra Instinct to using Omen again as "True" Ultra Instinct but he still uses the Mastered UI to make that giant ki Goku... and then we have Black Freeza which is an entirely different entity all together! Glad Toyotarou went on hiatus for a bit, hopefully the next arc has a batter narrative.
@@CAGExplains No he didn't use mastered UI to make the giant ki Goku the idea is that Goku through mastering and finally making UI his own has now finally learned how to do all of that on his own, with no longer needing to transform into Mastered UI. There is no longer any special tricks Mastered UI abled him to do that he can't do on his own now without having to pay the cost of fully transforming into UI further enhanced by his own innate Saiyan power
tbh i still think its a pretty dumb concept, it should've been introduced waaaaaaaaay earlier, because vegeta didn't even had a hint about "getting beaten up to get more power", that makes no sense, in the dragon ball super super hero you could see how vegeta is dodging more, and evading more hits against goku, and then he gets training from a god of destruction, which is nowhere like getting hit by your foes, if anything beerus doesn't get hit by nearly anything in order to get stronger, the hakai concept is unstopable strength, not "oh u hit me, now im stronger >:)", it COULD'VE been good, if like the transformation gave you some sort of insane durability, just like broly fighting mindlessly, yet not being able to get damaged unless some way above power like gogeta blue, vegeta could have something like that, yet he doesn't seem to have more durability than before, if anything less durability, because ultra instinct can dodge and doesn't worry much about dmg, and even if vegeta gets more durability he's still being constantly hit.
@@NFYT "getting beaten up to get more power".. dude do you even watch DragonBall?? Cause that's literally every Saiyans power💀 "Ultra Ego" through "Destruction" does nothing more but hack his own innate Saiyan instincts to it's extremes, you do realize that right??
@@livingashtree1942 yea i do watch dragon ball, but do you tho? When i mean getting beaten up to get more power i don't mean literally in the middle of a fight, and with the need of getting literally hit in order to do more dmg, that doesn't make any sense, for sure, most of the time goku or vegeta get stronger during a battle or get a new transformation, but that doesn't involve purposely getting hit from an enemy in order to get stronger, that only worked on namek where zenkai still were effective, and even then vegeta didn't won against frieza by NEARLY DYING from a krillin's attack You could actually tell that it's different if you read, its actually stated in the manga how vegeta gets stronger by getting hit, which is the reason why he took 3 L in THE SAME ARC with a whole new transformation, it's useless if the enemy is stronger than u in dragon ball, which happens in literally every saga, they can get stronger by getting beaten up, but that doesnt involve PURPOSELY getting hit, which is the reason why ultra instinct is so damn good and you're totally ignoring it.
The problem with Ultra-Ego isn't the concept. The concept is actually brilliant and matches Vegeta's character perfectly. Vegeta's always been the more brutal, straight-forward fighter between him and Goku whereas Goku has always had more "technique" and finesse in his style. Makes sense Goku and would have instinct and Vegeta would have ego. The problem is in the form's execution. A form like this should literally get stronger as they take damage, REGARDLESS of the damage taken, meaning only legitimate killshots would be effective against Vegeta. Or make it where only taking hits from physical blows makes Vegeta stronger but he can still be harmed by energy blasts, basically letting Vegeta be an overpowered motherfucker at close-range beating the living shit out of his opponents while tanking damage, so the opponent has to do their best to keep distance from him. It'd match his fighting style so well.
The concept works in other animes as well. In berzerk the damage is commulated and delayed and in one punch man metal bat gets consideraly stronger with incoming damage.
The concept only works if your Aizen or Smth who has regeneration and immortality... But if vegeta is up against someone truly powerful than him, vegeta is gonna die before gaining a significant power up
It's against the purpose of the form because the form exist to make vegeta job. This ultra ego would be too effective and would make him an actually relevant character, dare I say even introduce interesting teamwork possibilities. We don't do that here.
…..I mean. What Shonen has ever done that? Lmaooo. Naruto didn’t beat Sasuke with the help of Kakashi and Sakura. Yeah it was a team effort to weaken Father but Ed was the one who beat the shit out of him. Ichigo always beats the big bad of the arc. Same with Fairy Tail And so on and so forth. Y’all make me ashamed to be a Vegeta fan sometimes the way y’all want them to suddenly change the formula for Vegeta lmao
@@Deemo202 The thing is, there are animes out there that share the spotlight. Dragonball has shared the spotlight TWICE with Gohan. Gohan could have ended buu arc aswell but they decided to push it further by having him removed of the picture. Fusions have been the spotlight aswell in movies. Piccolo has gotten better spotlight moments than Vegeta in Super. Piccolo usually looses but makes his point across most of the time, while Vegeta looses to make Goku look better and have an easy time against the enemies afterwards. I only remember seeing 2 specific moments where Goku went first, allowing Vegeta to watch and learn from the enemy. This was during the freeza fight in ROF and Jiren, this allowed Vegeta to observe and learn and get an advantage. Even freeza got better treatment than Vegeta... Vegeta loosing in the anime during TOP allowed for an epic speech, he has the best speeches in the anime by far, but god damn he can have good speeches while being in the fight too. One piece shares the spotlight at times with other characters. Jujutsu kaisen does this too at times. My hero academia has done this aswell.
The better route would’ve been to allow his form to passively absorb the energy his opponent is releasing when fighting. Instead of the spent ki releasing into the ether, it goes to him (ala collecting rings in Sonic or red orbs in GoW) He would still get stronger, except he wouldn’t need to have to tank hits his body can’t handle. It serves the same purpose of using the enemy’s power against them.
If Vegeta somehow turn out to be able to combine Ultra Ego with the Spirit Fission concept he learned in Moro Saga, maybe we'll get something like this.
It'd work if we were still in a pre-Android Saga part of the story. Back when someone could be fast, but not able to cause severe damage with one hit or good at ki manipulation and otherwise weak physically. That sort of specialization only pops up rarely now to make a point (SSU Trunks vs Perfect Cell) before it goes back in the box.
This makes me think of a different approach: Destructive instinct. Instead of autonomously dodging opponents attacks, you’re hyperaware and can accurately intercept and turn opponents attacks against them by deflecting them to create openings or directly attacking the opponents attacks to damage the opponent. Basically using the hyperawareness to create and/or exploit openings. This makes forced spirit fission even deadlier.
how dare you call him a jobber on like goku that idot if you take out infinity mode and leave his rest of his mode they will aiways be on the same powe level
@@FreshMoni-t4y A jobber is a wrestling term for the guy who loses so the villain looks like a threat that the Hero/MC will have to overcome. When was the last time Vageta DIDN'T lose before Goku comes by and saves the day? what was the last significant villian Vageta beat?
What really baffled me was how in the previous arc Vegeta learned spirit control, and one of the powers that can be learned through that is healing techniques, so in theory if Vegeta combined those powers he could create an infinite loop of getting stronger by taking attacks and then using that extra ki to heal himself, he would be like an unstoppable berserker. But nope, spirit control was completely forgotten
Better still, it would make the best way to beat him superior technique (especially _defensively_ ) rather than a raw power advantage based beatdown. You couldn't siege him down because of that recovery, your only options are something to disable a part of the combo or a strike that instantly kills him. Vegeta finally turning an enemies strength over him into an advantage would play into his character growth of having to get over his own ego, which is a solid part of why he's beloved by the fanbases. Plus, since letting him tire himself out with a faultless defense is the natural counter to this, it maintains the position of Goku being able to defeat Vegeta that for some reason the writers refuse to ever allow to change for even a second, so it could actually be done.
Ultra Ego honestly sounds like something that would work better in the old gag manga days of DB. I could totally see a cocky Vegeta sauntering his way towards kid Goku, tanking a single punch from him and becoming mad swole, only for him to fall flat on his ass just when everyone thought he was about to go beast mode.
Ultra ego should have been about attack, raw relentless attack. It fits the yin yang counter to Ultra instinct since that one is more about defense and it fits the role of a God of Destruction, it also fits Vegeta's fighting style of the fast barrage of attacks that he's always shown. I don't know why they went the tank route out of nowhere, if anything that fits Orange Piccolo the most given his regeneration and stuff.
Similar opinion here. Would have liked seeing Ultra Ego be a somewhat berserk mode transformation focusing on ruthless and relentless attacks which builds up more hype, therefore the user gets stronger while they focus on destruction. Not the most original idea ever but still better than hurtig yourself.
@@cnobu8160 yeah not the most original idea, but neither is dodging everything either, that's like martial arts 101, this idea also fits better thematically in almost every point. When you stop and think about it. EVERY form in Super is useless. Red, Blue, Silver, Purple, it doesn't matter. The god forms never won a single fight they were in, they always got their asses kicked against non-godly opponents, and have yet to do anything relevant. I remember when GT was new everyone swore up and down left and right that SS4 was "useless" yet SS4 has won almost every single fight it's ever been in. The only fight SS4 lost in was with Super 17 and that's fair cause' 17 was an infinite AND energy absorption model. That is just unholy broken. SS4 has had a better track record than any of the god forms and the fact that DB fans seem to think the god forms are "better" than SS4 despite it's W/L ratio it's really funny and goes to show not many even watched GT. They just listen to script kitty opinions and act like it's fact.
There isn't a single person who says one transformation is "better" than the other just looks cooler, it's NEVER that deep. If you think ss4 is as strong as the god forms you are literally just bias then
At least Ultra instinct was still useful in taking down jiren. Thanks to ultra instinct Goku was able to weaken jiren enough at least for him and freiza to take him out of the ring, and give universe 7 the win. Ultra instinct was a big help in the tournament of power, unlike Ultra ego.
That’s why GT vegeta was great he didn’t basically bitch and constantly compare himself to goku letting it consume him, but still getting stronger just his own way. Plus ssj4 vegeta is amazing
GT Vegeta was even worse, and he threw an entire temper tantrum in the 17 arc just because everyone valued Goku more than him. And no, GT cheated his way into SSJ4 just so that he can catch up to Goku. He was FAR more obsessed with Goku than he is in Super.
@@lukejones7164 There's so much wrong with that. Vegeta was mad to spirit himself up because the villain undermined him, not because he hates Goku. In DB, it's not cheating if that power is part of you, and Vegeta knows how dangerous Omega is, so he wouldn't risk the Earth getting destroyed just to try and transform by himself. Even if there're a rivalry between the two, Vegeta is more chilled and content with what he has.
@@MinhLe19303 You clearly don't get basic logic like 90% of other DB fanboys lol. GT Vegeta literally compared himself to Goku when he got mad at Super 17 for belittling him. Using outside sources just to catch-up to another guy is cheating, just like with the Majin boost. And he did it primarily because of Goku not Omega. Get Real
@@lukejones7164 You should watch Episode 55 in English sub. He's not obssessive toward Goku anymore, and while he do want to catch up to Goku, he doesn't hate Goku for being stronger than him. There are other scenes of him pretty chill toward Goku for having Super Saiyan 4, or even laugh at Goku for his funny moment. If you want to call someone a cheater just for shortcut, maybe you should called out to Goku for having Elder Kai regrow his tail, which isn't a training, and him okay with having Ultimate in DBS. Goku and Vegeta always okay with new power so long as it's part of their power and potential, training or shortcut. Circumstance-wise, they would rather want a shortcut if there's a stake at hand.
It sucks that they didn't think this through enough because I do think a form where Vegeta benefits from taking hits, like actually benefits from it, is a good idea and a good reflection of his character. Vegeta has always tried to take on people way stronger than him and gets his ass handed to him for it, so having a form where rushing into battle and taking a hit is a benefit really suits him. I also think it would be fun to explore how Vegeta can exploit the egos of his opponents to his own benefit, like how many of the other villains did to him. Like, think about it, having an opponent get really pissed off at you and start trying to wail on you, while being in a form where that damage actually helps you, is a good strategy to exploit. It also helps show how far Vegeta has come and reflects his development of being able to turn his pride into something that makes him stronger, rather than his weakness.
It’s a good reflection of his character, but more in the way that he’s only been able to get stronger by getting too cocky, thinking he could demolish anyone, and then getting bitched. After which he learns something from it. Getting his tail cut off was the best thing that ever happened to him, and a transformation that literally requires him to get hit to be stronger is exactly what his character progression has been
The thing is we have to remember that even tho Ultra Ego was revealed over a year ago now, Ultra Ego is still new to Vegeta. As not nearly as much time has passed in the actual story. Just as Goku had to improve and still has to improve ultra instinct, Vegeta still needs to improve ultra ego
I mean the fact that they even allowed vegeta to still keep up with atleast tui goku is acceptable. If he didnt get that and was still stuck in ssbe like with moro arc i would have left db forever
Honestly, I felt that Ultra Ego would be a flawed form to begin with. He needs to be in the same mindset he had before he met Bulma. As he said, he was the perfect warrior. Cold and ruthless. Uninhibited by petty emotions. He even said at the end of his fight with Granola that he couldn't use it properly. 🤷🏿♂️
@DavidVillaTorre Not exactly throwing away character development if he failed to assimilate his old self to begin with. Ruthlessness and coldness is what it takes to be a destroyer. Can't be emotionally attached to anything.
@@DavidVillaTorreAlthough I disagree with his opinion. Having a character go back to their old self is not throwing away character development. That is ADDING character development. It should honestly be used more often in anime/manga, a path of character doesn't always have to linear it can be regressing especially when portraying in how a character handles self suffering. example: Kaneki from Toyko Ghoul. Regressing ≠ throwing away character progression. New bad writing = throwing away character progression.
@carrots6249 they did that already with majin vegeta, and it paid off with his sacrifice and later with the "you're number 1" speech. Doing it again would be repetitive and it would feel cheap. Which is why I said it would be deleting the character progression since he already learned from his time as majin vegeta
Ultra Ego Vegeta is basically: 1. Vegeta gets new transformation. 2. Transformation gives him more power the more he gets beat up. 3. Gets beat up and loses anyway. 4. The end. LMAO
You think it's safe to call it a failure because he didn't immediately have a handle on a new power? lol Remember when UI won it's debut fight? Oh wait, it didn't! Jiren outlasted it and Goku had to play teamup. Sound familiar? 😂
Differnt from UI though in the fact tht the body has to be adjusted to use UI with limited strain, which what goku achieved with merus. When u look at UE, its a double edge sword. The form ignores pain but all the dmg taken will build up on the body leading the user to collapse. So in hind sight, vegeta never really had to get a grasp on the transformation to beat neither gas nor granolah as the form is reliant on the durability of the user's body. If anything he had to grow stronger in terms of power in order for the form to deal with granolah and gas as the form is useless against an opponent who is much stronger than the user

8:35 - It's a bit more complex than that. Sure, part of Vegeta's character arc is accepting that Goku is stronger but that's only one aspect of it. He specifically does this when he puts aside his ego. And putting aside his ego, where he was only fighting to be stronger than Kakarot, allowed him to realize that you should fight to improve yourself, not fight to be better than someone else. And that was the REAL lesson he learned. The real lesson he learned wasn't "Goku is better than me and always will be." The real lesson he learned was "It doesn't matter whether Goku is better, I need to push myself to become better than myself not to be better than someone else."
I’m not the biggest DB fan, but Vegeta is my favorite. From what I’ve seen, Vegeta gets power ups to either show off his progression, or the strength of his opponent. It’s pretty annoying because it means Goku or someone else is going to save the day.
It actually really sucks because while I know this form from a fundamental point of view doesn't really make any logical sense, it's actually a really cool transformation when looked at through a more thematic lens (at least to me). I don't know if it was intentional or not, but Ultra Ego to me harkens back to the Vegeta we saw in the Saiyan and Frieza saga. The Vegata who chased power through means such as zenkai boosts and would sometimes let himself get mortally wounded so that he could bounce back even stronger than before. The idea that he was ready to arrive at death's door for a boost in power was a really interesting way to show just what kind of person Vegeta was during those arcs. Heck, in some ways it even mimics his training in the Android/Cell saga and how he'd train by putting his body through the most hellish conditions possible in the gravity chamber. It wasn't enough to train at the level Goku did, he had to push even further past that at levels of gravity that nearly killed him. Vegeta's training throughout the series has always been depicted as him going through the most physically exhausting pain imaginable to achieve greater heights. His training was raw as hell, but there was always a reason behind what he was doing, and it feels like Ultra Ego was trying to capture that version of Vegeta we saw so long ago. Then again, maybe this is just some premium grade cope I'm huffing lmao
Ultra Ego is not a disappointment. We have only seen Vegeta use it in one arc and he even vowed to improve his use of it in chapter 87. I believe fans saying it's a disappointment should give Ultra Ego more time and give Vegeta the actual chance to train and improve it just like we have seen with Goku.
Ironically enough the only time vegeta was truly on par with goku was in GT, where vegeta no longer cared about surpassing kakarot. And just wanted to protect his family
Vegeta was actually stronger than Goku in the first 28 episodes until Goku arrived back on earth to face Baby. After this point, Goku was stronger until Vegeta attained SSJ4. Then they became equals, but Goku surpassed Vegeta forever after his ascension.
6:00 It's because *Ultra Ego* isn't Beerus his power but Vegeta's innate power unlocked through Beerus his teachings. (I think Vegeta even explained this)... First off, just found out about your channel so just wanna say love your content and videos, keep up the good work! Ultra Ego's ability to grow stronger from the damage he's taken springs from the Saiyans innate ability to grow stronger from engaging in constant battle and battle lust. "Ultra Ego" is about Vegetas pride making him extremely leverage on his Saiyan heritage as a sole reliance for his unbounded strength even if it means discarding his own morality, all through the means of *Destruction* The idea is that he basically becomes a *"Saiyan Demon"* compared to Brolys *"Saiyan Beast"* power or Gokus *"Angel"* power *Ultra Ego-* was a result of Vegetas training under Beerus and mastery of *Destruction* Like with Goku and Ultra Instinct, the technique itself isn't meant as a transformation but it's always been the innate Saiyan instinct/ability to adapt and therefore they always transform when met with a new power. Vegeta fighting against Granolah knew he was fighting a losing battle as even UI Goku wasn't able to beat him, but Vegeta being Vegeta knew that with him being a Saiyan and having just acquired a new power knew that even the smallest taste of death during battle would be the right amount of needed dose for his inner Saiyan genes to force in and capitalize off his new training and power and therefore awaken a new transformation. Through the power of *Destruction* he has been able to fully hack his own *Saiyan instincts* for it's natural limitless potential in return making his own power *UNBOUNDED* Like Vegeta already explained *"This POWER is my OWN"*
Everything you said...I like. It actually makes sense(given the context of Dragon Ball) and would be amazing if that's how they go with it. The main fear is that that may not be the direction they go with it.
This form still has time to develop UI still is so to say this form is useless is to early UI has been here since T.O.P and UE has only been in two fights, I have a feeling beerus is gonna tell him what he did wrong and how to fix it
@@leultrainstinct406 difference is this is vegeta, even if he gets better with this form, hes still gonna get screwed over by the writers one way or another
Problem is his arrogance. Just because he gets stronger with every damage received doesn't mean he's supposed to let himself get hit on purpose. He should balance it
@@livingashtree1942 like, there are many attacks that ignore durability. It's so easy to counter ultra ego, just don;t attack vegeta with some weak attacks over and over again, and focus on just one that can one shot him
This was essentially the last straw for me. In super, almost every arc set vegeta up narratively to take a win. I recognize this is not the vegeta show, but it literally, repetitively, sets vegeta up for the logical victory… And then gives it to goku…. In a manner that sometimes makes little sense. Ultra ego was a cool concept upon introduction, and this video captures the insult it became quite well. At this point, I absolutely do not want vegeta to defeat a villain, it’s been tainted in a similar manner to gohan’s character. I finished the granola arc, and decided to put it down. I might pick it back up, I may not. I put up with a lot of post-Z crap, but for now, I’m done.
UE can be fixed so easily as well, instead of taking damage head on to get stronger, mayb ehave it be a kind of "full counter" where Vegeta always takes a threat head on and instead of clearing the mind like goku, Vegeta becomes hyper focused and exploits crucial weaknesses in someone's fighting. Similar to granloah and his precise hits
i think ue is a failure it had SO MUCH POTENTIAL and im a vegeta fan i legit cried, i can make up 8 abilities thats better than the cannon one, like its basically a better version of zenkai this shows that ue was a rushed transformation it had little to NO thought put into it but theres more to come hopefully they start thinking.
Yk all they had to do was make it so that he gains more durability with each strike he takes along with his overall battle power increasing along with his durability so that the opponent has to increase their damage output constantly until they end up draining themselves, I also think that UE should make it so that Vegeta doesn’t feel any of the pain he takes until he powers down from the form so that he doesn’t end up dropping to the floor constantly like an idiot
Honestly why did anyone think this would turn out to be anything solid? Toriyama and Toyotaro have openly stated in public that they both hate Vegeta as a character. Toriyama has even hinted at him wanting to kill him off several times but his editor and publisher wouldn't let him because he is such a popular character. With this in mind why would they throw this character a bone?
You’re being so dramatic. They literally gave him this form so that he’s around equal to Goku and isn’t left behind. Toriyama said he hated vegeta at first but grew to like him and that’s why he brought him back after namek, and toyatoro has never said he hates vegeta, you just made that up 😭 You think you’ve got it rough? Vegeta has been the only z fighter on Gokus level from the beginning of super to dbs super hero. That’s like 10 years. And now you’re crying because his new form, tailor made to make sure he isn’t left behind by Goku and is still at the top, had a bad first showing. Its first showing sucks, don’t get me wrong, but imagine how fans of the other Z fighters have felt all these years 😂 Dragon ball, especially super, has a fundamental writing issue when it comes to dealing with side characters. Vegeta BY FAR has it the best though
@@A.H.goose1 vegeta is about as strong as goku but still jobs and only jobs Piccolo got to look good many times in cell saga. TIEN had a moment. Gohan beat cell. Vegeta had his only good moment in the cell saga and even then it was only to make vegetas next defeat even harder. The problem is vegeta is stronger than everyone who isn’t goku but STILL has less time to shine somehow. In buu he just acted as a punching bag. At least gohan while losing all the time, got to be the strongest again.
Vegeta would always tank attacks to throw his opponent off or mock them, but that was never his end goal with fights. Seeing as how Vegeta fights by overwhelming his opponent before they can strike, (For example: Him killing Cui, Android 19, his fight with Semi-Perfect Cell, and so on,) so why not give him a form that fits that style? Maybe a form with a significant speed buff based off of Hit's movements would fit considering he never got around him.
We should’ve accepted that Vegeta would never be in the limelight when he was about to kill frieza in revival of F and Akira killed him and brought him back just to have Goku swoop in & take the dub
I think if they made it so Ultra Ego couldn't be snuffed out, as in Vegeta would literally have to die (or be rendered unconscious) to lose his form this would be really cool. If you wanted to take down Vegeta you had to kill him while he continuously gets stronger regardless of the damage he sustains or the mortal peril he finds himself in. So he either has to voluntarily choose to exit the fight, or fight until his last breath. That would make this form quite formidable I think.
What I see possibly happening after Granolah arc is Vegeta going back to Yardrat to learn rest of the abilities becouse they go well with Ultra Ego, Healing, gets rid of Ultra Ego weakness, Gigantification, if you get larger you can take more damage then revert back to normal size to heal up and get more power on top of zenkai boost, Instant Transmission is Goku thing so I doubt he would learn that but hey if he would it could go very well with Hakai, Multi-Form, could use a clone to damage Vegeta thus becoming even stronger, possibly when Goku is holding off the main enemy and lastly Magic Materialization, he could create matter out of thin air to use hakai on thus making it explode, if Vegeta wont go back to Yardrat to master every technique it will be wasted potential becouse he already learned how spirit training is important in Moro arc, got beaten up in Granolah arc esecially showing him that just new form without techniques baking up its weaknesses isnt gonna cut it, possibly those 2 arcs set up Vegeta for the W?
You know what...? That Yardrat idea is actually really good! I hope that happens to Vegeta, it would be such an imaginative way for Vegeta to compensate for UE's downsides
Why is there so much cope in this comment section? I can't believe some people think ultra ego is good. If they were sold UE Merch they would buy it😂😂. Oh my god bro
There’s only two ways I see Vegeta’s UE being saved: 1) Give him a bit of regeneration, like how SSG heals the user when they are in the form 2) Make Vegeta become many many times more durable in UE. Once he’s in it, he should be able to tank tons amounts of damage without anything more than a cut
Honestly i've read the other comments and I have to say, Ultra Ego really needs a big overhaul on how it works, instead of making it about tanking damage, but not *too much* or you'll drop out of the form, make it about ignoring damage and pushing through anyways, make it adhere to Vegeta's stubborn mindset, the core philosophy of Ultra Ego should be "I want to do this, so I'll do this, no matter what the enemy does to prevent me from doing it", it would perfectly mirror UI, which is about dodging attacks and relying on instinct, instead not caring about attacks and letting Vegeta's battle IQ shine in ways it could never before, "I want to get to that point and do this attack, which will force my enemy to do this, which will let me beat them", as opposed to, "my body has been trained it's entire life, the only thing thinking will do at this point is slow it down, I should let my body do what it does best and dodge and counterattack on it's own"
You did completely miss vegeta’s own unique form in Z. It’s understandable; a lot of people think it’s a technique instead of an actual form. But I still consider it a transformation… and that’s when he was transformed into a jobber
Instead of increasing Vegeta's grit, a better gimmick would have been enhancing Vegeta's hypervigilance. Whis told Goku he's too relaxed and relies mostly on instinct and impulse to win fights, which foreshadows Ultra Instinct and told Vegeta he's too rigid and hyper focused which should have foreshadowed a transformation called Ultra Focus. Unlike UI, it shouldn't increase his reflexes and instead increases his awareness and allows him to predict his enemies attacks just by looking at their stance. Essentially turning Vegeta into a God of Parries.
So we all gonna ignore how ultra instinct goku fumbled the bag in every single fight he had with the form except for Moro? And even then he almost lost and needed everyone's energy to finish him off.
Though Ultra Instinct didn’t fight Kefla in the manga, in the anime it kicked her ass and looked good doing it. Canon or not that’s still a win in its belt. It’s still managed to look competant and useful.
Dude... The way my heart sank when I heard you say "8 years ago." about Vegeta leading a movie, and THEN noticing THIS video is two years old!? oh god...
This is just a problem with any franchise past it expiration date: almost always relies on repeating the same old tropes, i.e. Vegeta always loses to make Goku look better, and doesn't allow the franchise or story to evolve like it did in the past. And part of that is because of the fans won't allow it to. The fans grow up. They get set in their ways and all they expect out of any franchise they grew up with is to be comfortable and familiar.
Hey, if you ask me, this form is perfect for Vegeta. So far all he's done with it is showboat, get his ass handed to him by everyone he tried to fight, stall for Goku, rinse and repeat until the arc is finally over. So it's staying true to his character in the sense it's literally made for him to be a jobber.
The minute I saw the transformation I was done with the story Ever since he decided to abandon his pursuit of UI (which was supposed to be the end goal for both Goku and Vegeta), that was the beginning of his decline. Having him learn Hakai from Beerus is just an excuse to ensure he stays second to Goku. Ultra Ego was the final nail in the coffin. They took all of Vegeta's worst qualities and gave it a form.
You were basically hoping for Vegeta to completely abandon his pride as a warrior. His arrogance and pride and ruthlessness is what makes him a favorite amongst myself and others.
Yeah vegeta tried for a short minute to hit UI. But he don't have the calm nature needed. Remember when whis was asked to train vegeta? He said, only if you become a god of destruction. That hinted us more towards destruction energy than anything else. I'm glad he got his own form and not UI. it's a nice change instead of them going for the same forms over and over. If that really made you being done with the story you were never a fan of the series or mangas
@@niklaslund2204 If Vegeta was going to become a God of Destruction, then his journey in super needs to reflect that. Goku's journey has reflected that more. He killed Frieza and Moro, not Vegeta. In the manga he also almost destroyed Merged Zamasu with an imperfect version of the Hakai technique. Vegeta has only evolved as a person. Not only did he train with Whis, he also humbled himself to learn spirit control from Pybara, a teacher much weaker than Vegeta. This is something that he would have never done in the past. Also stealing the energy back from Moro to revive the Namekians was something new for him. They destroyed that growth once Vegeta started learning Hakai. They took his worst qualities and gave it a form. A form that not only looks like a shitty version of SSJ3, but has only resulted in Vegeta losing every fight he's been in.
@@niklaslund2204 Then he should have gone for Hakai from the start. Why did he waste 4 years training for a form that requires him to be perfectly calm? What the fuck was he doing those past years if not training to be able to calm himself down and clear his mind? Was he just not listening to any of Whis' lessons? If so why didnt he seek out his own way sooner? It's way too late for Ultra Ego to make any sense.
What’s wrong with végéta perusing something separate than Goku Végéta has been chasing Goku coat tail for a while and now he wants something different what’s wrong with that
The concept of Ultra Ego both in name and execution fits Vegeta perfectly. If Vegeta is known for one thing, it’s getting his ass beat. He loses against Goku, gets whooped by Frieza, Android 18 cracked his dome, Perfect Cell gives Vegeta the ultimate Karma, his self sacrifice to Major Buu doesn’t even mean anything and Toppo was ROCKING him. Vegeta even at one point was intentionally tanking to give HIMSELF Zenkai boosts in Z. Ultra Ego can be refined into Vegeta’s character so well, it only makes sense the a chosen power for him
Vegeta ue got destroy by Granola Vegeta ue got destroy by Gas Vegeta ue got destroy by Black Furiza sama😂he said if he get hit, hit makes him stronger 😂
Doesn't change the fact he lost every single fight he had with it their doing him so dirty his transformation literally brought nothing to the show unlike UI

Ultra ego can still be saved. Toyotaro can make some bs about him not unlocking the full power of ultra ego and then his form evolves into the completed form
Beerus: To fully use this power, you need to have the mindset of a Destroyer, to only know and embody destruction. Vegeta: Got it, I'll just tank damage Beerus: 🤦
There’s also a point to SSJ3, which that it is to make fun of Super Saiyan. Whereas the entire point is that no one is just going to achieve a new form to beat the villain like with Cell and Frieza. But, that the only way they are going to surpass Buu is by combining their power, as shown with Fusion and the Spirit Bomb.
Yeah, I thought that was the whole point of the Buu saga, no character by themselves was capable of defeating Buu. They needed to all work or combine their powers together.
_You see CAGE, you're not dealing with the average Saiyan jobber anymore. I, Vegeta, have risen above and become a legend. A legend that you fear. I have become the Legendary Ultra Jobber!_
the sad thing is that its so easy to fix too, he states that "the hotter my battle soul burns, the more powerful I get". All they have to do is lean into this more and have him do multiple things things to strengthen his fighting spirit. Taking a good hit should help with that, but he could also go for more flashy/risky attacks which would increase his power because he's immersing himself in his love for battle, dealing with energy attacks by trying to overpower them with his own, hitting long combos, stuff like that. Anything he does to push himself to put in more effort either mentally, physically, or spiritually should be considered something that makes his "battle soul burn hotter". Same goes for anything that feels really satisfying and indulges in his lust for the fight
I think Ultra Ego is a good idea that's badly executed. Ultra Ego reminds me of the real life accounts of viking berserker, but somewhat misses the mark. The viking berserker were historical/semi-legendary specialized units of vikings that entered a feral trance which granted them unwavering/unstaggering offensive capabilities due to having extreme pain tolerance. They weren't invincible, and the damage they took was real. But what made them such frightening foes is that when they took damage, they wouldn't stagger. They would just keep going. There's a historical battle called the Battle of Stamford Bridge where a lone viking berserker took on 20+ English soldiers. He endured mortal wounds and still kept attacking. I think Ultra Ego should work this way. The goal shouldn't be to take damage to become stronger. The goal shouldn't be to take damage at all. The goal should be that IF you take damage, you don't stagger. You don't hold your stomach in pain if you receive a gut punch. You just maintain the onslaught of attacks. That DOES have merit.
@@tillburr6799 The berserker in the Battle of Stamford Bridge seems to have been real. Either way, it doesn't have to be completely real. Ultra Instinct is an exaggerated version of Bruce Lee's idea of the Flow State.
@@Mbrace818 they didnt actually do drugs, some probably did, as warriors, even modern day ones, are want to do. but it wasnt a strategy or at the time an expected trait
Ultra Ego made sense to me because I saw it not as a form that took damage in one fight and turning it into strength; but one that took damage from all fights for a continuous, gradual increase of power. Vegeta is known for being second best. He's known for taking L's. Now, instead of trying to copy Goku, or getting his ass beat and going back to training, he's taking a loss and converting it into strength. This form insures that Vegeta is always take something away from a fight, win or lose. He doesn't NEED to win to gain something. Also, as the most proud, full blooded saiyan, it would follow that he achieve an entire form that essentially embodies the venkai boost that all saiyans receive. Which, if you think about it, is a direct parallel to UI. Whis tells Goku not to use UI as a form but as a technque that he can use in his base form, right? Well Goku takes this thing, this skill of a martial artist and cranks it to 100 turning it from a technique into a form. Goku IS a martial artist to his core like Vegeta is saiyan to his. Vegeta takes this thing that was a feature, cranks it to 100 and turns it into a form. Both of them have forms that reflect a major quality of the thing they most identify with.
i wouldn't call it the worst transformation in anime history it just did Vegeta wrong in a way making him seem like he was gonna get a w but instead he got an L once again it's not the transformation that i hate it's how they basically made Vegeta a punching bag for extra power just for it to be wasted and be a weakness instead of a power up so it's not the worst it just isn't the best in my opinion people may hate me for this but even gt did him better then this ultra ego atleast he let go his pride and not always trying to surpass goku but instead follow his own path like gohan said in dragon ball super, but all of a sudden they just change that and have vegeta all on goku's sack like i just dont get it they make him seem like he's slowly becoming the same again it's a cool transformation don't hold me it just has a dumb way of how vegeta gains a bosst from being damaged just for the damages to become the weakness of the form
I'll admit the title was a bit dramatic but I've just gotten so frustrated with how Vegeta has been treated this arc. The fans want to see Vegeta get a big W but Toriyama doesn't seem to agree...
I always seen Vegeta x Goku as Power x Skill. Goku is a very skilled fighter, so even not being from a royal bloodline and a low class warrior, he still can outpower Vegeta, while Vegeta have a lot of brute power but not that much skill, he isnt a martial artist. So for me Ultra Ego should be about full brute power, to the point Vegeta couldnt use this technique next to his allies because it could kill them too, like every single ki blast being covered in Hakai energy
Ya know, I could honestly see this being great. It's kind of like, an escalation of the Saiyan's natural ability to grow stronger after life threatening damage. It makes sense to call it Ultra Ego, because he's basically taking great pride in his saiyan abilities. And I can already think of a couple ways to fix it. Vegeta could 1) put a lot of effort into increasing his endurance/durability and then proudly take hits that will barely damage him in order to turn that power against his opponents. Or he could 2) try and develop some technique to stimulate rapid healing in order to stay in a fight longer and abuse his opponents power. Personally I think the first of those options works better, but both force his opponents to be wary of dealing too much damage without ending the fight.
My dude, you have been faaaar too much merciful with the Ultra Loser form, here, take these 2 extra shots to fire: -Vegeta talked so much hot hair against Granolah, blabbeting on how much the brat's power was unmerited, yet he still manages to lose against said brat with the unmerited power. -The Ultra Ego sucks so much that it caused Vegeta to run out of gas, against a guy called "Gas" ... you can't make that up.
Ultra ego works better if it was used in tandem with Ultra instinct. So having Vegeta tank weak attacks and force enemies to use strong attacks only to have Goku take over and dodge said attack by switching places with Vegeta. Then, the enemy overexerts energy which Goku and Vegeta can both punish the enemy. The way it can be used can be clever but is ultimately really poorly done. Also, yeah, make Ultra Ego incredibly sturdy/durable/tank and make Ultra Instinct more fragile/glass cannon
It's actually the other way around. Ultra Ego is the perfect way to write a transformation... at least a non canon one If you think about it, both UE and TUI don't change the status quo at all. UE can't be mastered by Vegeta and TUI is nothing more than a performance amped UI Omen. These transformations don't really hugely impact the balance of power, but it actually feels like the real deal. It's a great way to fool around until the next Toriyama script is written while making us feel like progress is being made.
meanwhile, me thinking Beerus and Whis are TROLLING Vegeta letting him think he "has to take damage to be stronger" in orther to tell him that just to make his ego, and just pure ego, EXPLODE in power levels using his Saiyan capabality to save the feeling of an event to become stronger like he does with Super Saiyan.
Ultra Ego is what happens when you have the dumb mindset of "Goku and Vegeta can't have the same thing! He'd be copying! It goes against his character!". As if Prince Forehead hasn't been copying Goku since goddamn Namek. I'll never understand why both of them couldn't have UI. The cherry on top is Whis going "you gotta have your own version". OK, why not Vegeta?? Him getting UI AND mastering it before Goku would actually be within their characters.
Ultra Instinct Vs Ultra Ego perfectly portays why Vegeta has never beaten Goku. Ego is a flawed transformation that lacks the versatility to be effective against stronger opponents. Instinct is a direct buff to its user and increases versatility by allowing them to focus on more niche aspects of fighting because movement and technique are effectively on autopilot.
A majority of those comments you showed are likely from one insane person from 4chan. He's been hating on Vegeta daily for 20 years and even pretends to be different people due to the anonymity factor on that site.
Just make the form similar to Gut's Berserker armour. Keep the gimmick of having him get stronger with more damage he takes, but let him not feel the accumulation of damage until the very end like Guts after he finishes using the armour.
Given how often Vegeta fights on when horribly injured, it'd make sense to me for him to have a power that lets him fight on without weakening until the last drop of blood.
What do you mean? Goku's been utilizing ultra instinct too. Goku's able to use a few techniques in the form such as the susanoo like technique, and using ultra instinct with his other super saiyan transformations. In fact i'd say further down the line, goku gain even more techniques and so will Vegeta with his transformation
@@alphonsejohnson5601 That’s what I mean. I was just saying Ego will likely be more relevant than Goku’s SSJ God was since he barely ever used it until the Top and Broly movie.
And people called me stupid for making fun of the fact of how dumb Ultra Ego is and stuff. Like I tear the form apart because I knew how dumb it sounds that a form that needs you to take more damage to get stronger but you can’t even take a hit is really dumb. They butchered me for it and you’re over here spitting facts. I know damn well these people that still “like” the form are gonna pull the excuse of “Well we don’t care it looks cool” when that’s not really the point cause half the transformation is to look cool while the other half is to be functional. Because if one of those things are absent, then the form fails.
I do not think you’d be laying it on anywhere near this thick if Ultra Ego just had a good track record. Zenkai boosts exist. Damage can make you stronger in Dragon Ball, and it makes sense for Vegeta to have a form similar to Zenkais given how much he tried to exploit them on Namek, leapfrogging over Frieza’s earlier transformations in the process. The way Vegeta fought Granolah when he first got Ultra Ego, all feral, headbutts, double-axe handles, the vibes were perfect. Being able to get stronger from damage only added to that grinning maniac personality the form gives Vegeta, who’s normally such a stoic, serious character (especially in Super). To me, the best transformations notably change the character’s personality and how they fight. UI turns Goku’s happy go lucky approachability into something almost emotionless, and when he first got Super Saiyan his personality was turned into pure rage and vengeance. There is power fantasy to be had in being able to take a hit and walk it off, even if it hurts. To be able to grin like a maniac after your opponent gives you everything they have and makes you bleed. All we needed to see is the damage bonus being worth it. Have him win that first fight against Granolah, for example. Pinning the blame on the form itself and calling it one of the worst transformations iN anIMe HiStORy devalues the well-designed parts about it. Its execution in the plot failed the form, and by extension Vegeta himself, and that’s by virtue of how Vegeta was being written long before the form was ever thought of, as you’ve pointed out. After all, doesn’t Super Vegeta and Blue Evolution have a set of very similar problems - not affecting the plot, low win rates - but without the unique personality Ego gives Vegeta? I’d say Evolution is worse than Ego. Pinning it on Ultra Ego and calling it the worst transformation honestly feels like clickbait; just say it like it is and talk about the disease of Vegeta’s writing instead of the symptom that his transformations are worse, especially specifically his most recent transformation.
Ultra Ego still stupid transformation. > having to take hits to get stronger > body can't handle the hits > loses Blue Evolution was more useful than this.

At least he should have gotten a heeling factor with it. All most every villain has it so why not give it to Vegeta for ones

@@acommenter3939 with each concussion I grow stronger
Fr kind of like what they did with GT’s Super 17
That's what I thought it would be for the longest time, but no 💀
Then it'd actually be the yin to the yang of Ultra Instinct, where Ultra Instinct is about avoiding damage as efficiently as possible, Ultra Ego is all about tanking damage and becoming stronger from it, with it's only counter being to overload it with so much power that it kinda just self destructs in some way, that'd actually be really useful (as long as your opponent can't easily overload it) and they even both have Ultra in their names so with a slight change to Ultra Ego's name it could make sense cenonically

I think the biggest issue with ultra ego is they completely betray the gimmick of the form by making him turn weak again when he takes too much damage. When he's on death's door after the obligatory jobbing session, Ultra Ego shouldn't stop doing what it's supposed to do, Vegeta shouldn't be kneeling down, clutching his arm, and dropping out of the form, that's the moment where he should be turning the main villain into a smear on the floor. tbh i still think its a pretty dumb concept, it should've been introduced waaaaaaaaay earlier, because vegeta didn't even had a hint about "getting beaten up to get more power", that makes no sense, in the dragon ball super super hero you could see how vegeta is dodging more, and evading more hits against goku, and then he gets training from a god of destruction, which is nowhere like getting hit by your foes, if anything beerus doesn't get hit by nearly anything in order to get stronger, the hakai concept is unstopable strength, not "oh u hit me, now im stronger >:)", it COULD'VE been good, if like the transformation gave you some sort of insane durability, just like broly fighting mindlessly, yet not being able to get damaged unless some way above power like gogeta blue, vegeta could have something like that, yet he doesn't seem to have more durability than before, if anything less durability, because ultra instinct can dodge and doesn't worry much about dmg, and even if vegeta gets more durability he's still being constantly hit.
@@NFYT "getting beaten up to get more power".. dude do you even watch DragonBall?? Cause that's literally every Saiyans power💀

@@livingashtree1942 yea i do watch dragon ball, but do you tho? When i mean getting beaten up to get more power i don't mean literally in the middle of a fight, and with the need of getting literally hit in order to do more dmg, that doesn't make any sense, for sure, most of the time goku or vegeta get stronger during a battle or get a new transformation, but that doesn't involve purposely getting hit from an enemy in order to get stronger, that only worked on namek where zenkai still were effective, and even then vegeta didn't won against frieza by NEARLY DYING from a krillin's attack
You could actually tell that it's different if you read, its actually stated in the manga how vegeta gets stronger by getting hit, which is the reason why he took 3 L in THE SAME ARC with a whole new transformation, it's useless if the enemy is stronger than u in dragon ball, which happens in literally every saga, they can get stronger by getting beaten up, but that doesnt involve PURPOSELY getting hit, which is the reason why ultra instinct is so damn good and you're totally ignoring it.
But if vegeta is up against someone truly powerful than him, vegeta is gonna die before gaining a significant power up
yeah foreal, they don’t even flex the forms power at all, wish it was more like a hella berserker mode

The better route would’ve been to allow his form to passively absorb the energy his opponent is releasing when fighting. Instead of the spent ki releasing into the ether, it goes to him (ala collecting rings in Sonic or red orbs in GoW)
He would still get stronger, except he wouldn’t need to have to tank hits his body can’t handle.
That doesn’t work
This makes me think of a different approach: Destructive instinct.

GT Vegeta was even worse, and he threw an entire temper tantrum in the 17 arc just because everyone valued Goku more than him.

Uninhibited by petty emotions. He even said at the end of his fight with Granola that he couldn't use it properly. 🤷🏿♂️
Ah yes great idea. Just throwing away decades of character development to the garbage to make the form work
@DavidVillaTorre Not exactly throwing away character development if he failed to assimilate his old self to begin with.
@DavidVillaTorre It wouldn't delete it though. It's literally a mindset change inorder to use ue, and he still failed anyways.
Ultra Ego Vegeta is basically:

Ultra ego is incomplete. The yardrats talked about being able to heal oneself with ki. That's how we get the complete ultra ego.

It's because *Ultra Ego* isn't Beerus his power but Vegeta's innate power unlocked through Beerus his teachings.
"Ultra Ego" is about Vegetas pride making him extremely leverage on his Saiyan heritage as a sole reliance for his unbounded strength even if it means discarding his own morality, all through the means of *Destruction*
The idea is that he basically becomes a *"Saiyan Demon"* compared to Brolys *"Saiyan Beast"* power or Gokus *"Angel"* power
*Ultra Ego-* was a result of Vegetas training under Beerus and mastery of *Destruction* Like with Goku and Ultra Instinct, the technique itself isn't meant as a transformation but it's always been the innate Saiyan instinct/ability to adapt and therefore they always transform when met with a new power.
Through the power of *Destruction* he has been able to fully hack his own *Saiyan instincts* for it's natural limitless potential in return making his own power *UNBOUNDED*
Like Vegeta already explained *"This POWER is my OWN"*
Everything you said...I like. It actually makes sense(given the context of Dragon Ball) and would be amazing if that's how they go with it. The main fear is that that may not be the direction they go with it.

No clue why people want ultra ego in Sparking zero- they can just main Mr satan and have the Ultra ego expirance

vegeta trained with yamcha and krillin to learn to harness the power of all the L's that he takes.
There’s only two ways I see Vegeta’s UE being saved:
1) Give him a bit of regeneration, like how SSG heals the user when they are in the form
2) Make Vegeta become many many times more durable in UE. Once he’s in it, he should be able to tank tons amounts of damage without anything more than a cut
Honestly i've read the other comments and I have to say, Ultra Ego really needs a big overhaul on how it works, instead of making it about tanking damage, but not *too much* or you'll drop out of the form, make it about ignoring damage and pushing through anyways, make it adhere to Vegeta's stubborn mindset, the core philosophy of Ultra Ego should be "I want to do this, so I'll do this, no matter what the enemy does to prevent me from doing it", it would perfectly mirror UI, which is about dodging attacks and relying on instinct, instead not caring about attacks and letting Vegeta's battle IQ shine in ways it could never before, "I want to get to that point and do this attack, which will force my enemy to do this, which will let me beat them", as opposed to, "my body has been trained it's entire life, the only thing thinking will do at this point is slow it down, I should let my body do what it does best and dodge and counterattack on it's own"
bro they made Vegeta jobbing an actual transformation thats crazy 💀💀
Every transformation in super means nothing but to sell toys
You did completely miss vegeta’s own unique form in Z. It’s understandable; a lot of people think it’s a technique instead of an actual form. But I still consider it a transformation… and that’s when he was transformed into a jobber
Lolllll
UI wasn’t completely useless, but with the logic, “UE is useless because it couldn’t beat Granolah or Gas”, you could say the same about UI easily.
UI at least did much better than UE in all of its fights.
Though Ultra Instinct didn’t fight Kefla in the manga, in the anime it kicked her ass and looked good doing it. Canon or not that’s still a win in its belt. It’s still managed to look competant and useful.
Dude... The way my heart sank when I heard you say "8 years ago." about Vegeta leading a movie, and THEN noticing THIS video is two years old!? oh god...
Vegeta would of won if it wasn't for that Dragon Ball wish
This is just a problem with any franchise past it expiration date: almost always relies on repeating the same old tropes, i.e. Vegeta always loses to make Goku look better, and doesn't allow the franchise or story to evolve like it did in the past. And part of that is because of the fans won't allow it to. The fans grow up. They get set in their ways and all they expect out of any franchise they grew up with is to be comfortable and familiar.
Vegeta wasn’t thinking about destruction like beerus told him
Hey, if you ask me, this form is perfect for Vegeta. So far all he's done with it is showboat, get his ass handed to him by everyone he tried to fight, stall for Goku, rinse and repeat until the arc is finally over. So it's staying true to his character in the sense it's literally made for him to be a jobber.
Again.
Ultra Ego is the Zenkai Boost with purple food coloring.
What’s wrong with végéta perusing something separate than Goku
Végéta has been chasing Goku coat tail for a while and now he wants something different what’s wrong with that
The concept of Ultra Ego both in name and execution fits Vegeta perfectly.

Ultra ego can still be saved. Toyotaro can make some bs about him not unlocking the full power of ultra ego and then his form evolves into the completed form
Beerus: To fully use this power, you need to have the mindset of a Destroyer, to only know and embody destruction.
Vegeta: Got it, I'll just tank damage
Beerus: 🤦
There’s also a point to SSJ3, which that it is to make fun of Super Saiyan. Whereas the entire point is that no one is just going to achieve a new form to beat the villain like with Cell and Frieza. But, that the only way they are going to surpass Buu is by combining their power, as shown with Fusion and the Spirit Bomb.
Yeah, I thought that was the whole point of the Buu saga, no character by themselves was capable of defeating Buu. They needed to all work or combine their powers together.
@@LordMalice6d9 thank you my fellow man who paid attention to the story
Super out here making history for some of the worst things in manga history.
And people thought GT was bad LMFAO.
Viking berserkers weren’t real. Not in the way most imagine them. Its a misconception
@@tillburr6799 The berserker in the Battle of Stamford Bridge seems to have been real.
Either way, it doesn't have to be completely real. Ultra Instinct is an exaggerated version of Bruce Lee's idea of the Flow State.

Personally I think the first of those options works better, but both force his opponents to be wary of dealing too much damage without ending the fight.
he can learn those moves on yardrat but toyotarou is so stupid
new technique? in dragon ball?
Super is starting to make me miss GT. Super Saiyan 4 baby let's gooo
joke's on you, it isn't in the anime

Yeah I know... "Anime" just sounds better in the title... 😅
My dude, you have been faaaar too much merciful with the Ultra Loser form, here, take these 2 extra shots to fire:
-Vegeta talked so much hot hair against Granolah, blabbeting on how much the brat's power was unmerited, yet he still manages to lose against said brat with the unmerited power.
This form should be imperfect. It's the equivalent of newly transformed Golden Frieza. It's his first real step into the realm of divine power.
Finally someone says it this form sucks, it’s power sucks, it’s portrayed poorly, it’s design sucks
I kinda like the design, reminds me of a dumb caveman, really suits a dumb transformation like UE lol

This is easily one of the best transformations ever and deeper than anything from z or gt
@@leultrainstinct406 explain to me one thing that ultra ego has done
It's actually the other way around. Ultra Ego is the perfect way to write a transformation... at least a non canon one
If you think about it, both UE and TUI don't change the status quo at all. UE can't be mastered by Vegeta and TUI is nothing more than a performance amped UI Omen. These transformations don't really hugely impact the balance of power, but it actually feels like the real deal. It's a great way to fool around until the next Toriyama script is written while making us feel like progress is being made.
Couldnt they give vegeta atleast one W
I've been waiting for that Vegeta W for years bro!
Vegeta only guy in DB to always get his ass kicked and hurt his arm alot and twice get swollen eye. its time for Akira to stop being prejudice lol
meanwhile, me thinking Beerus and Whis are TROLLING Vegeta letting him think he "has to take damage to be stronger" in orther to tell him that just to make his ego, and just pure ego, EXPLODE in power levels using his Saiyan capabality to save the feeling of an event to become stronger like he does with Super Saiyan.
Prince Forehead.
🤣
Ultra Instinct Vs Ultra Ego perfectly portays why Vegeta has never beaten Goku. Ego is a flawed transformation that lacks the versatility to be effective against stronger opponents. Instinct is a direct buff to its user and increases versatility by allowing them to focus on more niche aspects of fighting because movement and technique are effectively on autopilot.
I can already see the money hunger of toei but you blind fans got hyped up by just another hair dye. What happened in the end? Disappointment lol
I'll never understand why people ever get hyped for Vegeta. Dude literally never wins. He strictly exists as comic relief.
He’s not even comic relief.
At least Vegeta will actually utilize Ultra Ego, unlike a certain Super Sayain God…

Correct
Super was already pure trash on the first episode.
Actually based comment. The problem with ultra ego isn't the form, but that it's VEGETA'S form
Ultra Ego still stupid transformation.
> having to take hits to get stronger
> body can't handle the hits
> loses
Blue Evolution was more useful than this.
