For me this is more like Jesus performing (Numbers 5:11-31) a test for adultery. A woman suspected of adultery is brought to a priest and the priest will do a procedure involving holy water, dust on the floor of tabernacle WRITING curses in a book and washing them into the holy water with dust (called water if bitterness) and letting the woman drinking it... if bad happens to the woman afterwards the she is guilty. You notice Jesus us beside the temple at that time of accusation, He is the LIVING WATER then WRITING also on the DUST and he is THE HIGH PRIEST of the kingdom of God and He is a merciful God having authority to forgive sins if one will repent. Jesus is perfect even performing the rituals of old testament.
