@@VintageModernRemixes Aha wonderful! Thank you very much for this track, it's very plesant. Do my eyes deceive me, or does your description now reflect your new vocab?
I've always loved the light refractions underwater in this level, it's so magic and atmospheric. It's such a bummer that later entries in the franchise never got atmosphere nor levels like this.
All true, I loved the look of UT200x at the time but still does not have the look of purity and character that the original Unreal engine had. I wish there were some new retro shooter that used the original Unreal engine but I bet Epic would never license it anyway.
Ppl are still making games that look old maybe some of them will be inspired by UT. Check this video: "Over 100 Upcoming Retro/Old-school/Boomer Shooters Coming in 2023-24!"
Thank you for these. Judging by your efforts and care with these videos, the source material, and your profile pic - it's clear you have top tier taste! 🙏
I am very very happy to hear that you take notice of the effort I put into these. There are so many creative decisions that go into these and being that the internet is full of so much low-effort crap, I'm hoping my effort helps make my channel stand out. As for my 'top tier' taste, I'm a lifelong musician so I know how a mix should sound and I'm just applying my musical knowledge to give this wonderful music a new life. Thanks for watching!
This is my favorite map to play in U4E Gauntlet. Honest to god I think UT99GOTY had the best set of maps of any game at launch, to this day. Maybe UT2004 was better? Hard to say because both games are basically perfect. But anyway, the atmosphere of this map combined with the music, both of them live rent free in my head.
@@VintageModernRemixes haha yeah. I dj and stuff so i got two mackie studio monitors on each side of my tv and two qsc k.12 PA speakers on another end of my room. The bass on nether animal gives me goosebumps. Rattles the windows too 🤣
Yes exactly, that's it, the movie. I read somewhere that U1 devs where influenced from Alien movie series or even thought of making Alien franchise game...idk maybe my brain is making it up. For me U1 and UT1 era games with that style of graphics bridges the 70s/80s gothic/sci-fi-noir aesthetics to computer world. @@VintageModernRemixes
I watched an interview in which Gullermo del Toro is praising Metal Gear Solid Psycho Mantis boss as (his) greatest moment in gaming. Man, that was nothing, I was in the Quake 3 Arena vs UT99 online war, I would skip highschool when I could just to keep playing more of this, what an amazing moment in gaming. Peak fps skill, now is just a bunch of kids loaded with the most obvious cheats ever.
@@VintageModernRemixes i wanna listen this remaster while im playing some public matches playing ut99 , and maybe if its posibble use a part of the remaster in a good frag clip , only for fun and enterteinament
@@VintageModernRemixes I was fine with this one. suited my style, but Overlord? OMG. Pure frustration. To this day, because I still frag the bots weekly.
Here it is, as requested. I thank ee' muchly. Superbly benthic!
I had to look up "benthic"... thanks for teaching me a new word 👽👍

Haha I did add the word to the description 📝📚
Something about the way water looks in ut99. I love it.
Agreed, I still think it looks fantastic
Ah, I just played AS-Oceanfloor last week for the first time in years, perhaps the first time in a decade. Good memories.
It's a classic 🎻
The music, the atmosphere, it just all really comes together beautifully.
It really showed off how amazing the Unreal engine was at the time
Nice. Such a early 2000s mood creator
That's a mood I am usually in the mood for
So good, they don't make passionate games like this anymore.
Unfortunately you are right
Agreed. I say the same thing about soundtracks. UT's music was made with pure love and attention to atmosphere and setting.
Childhood memories 🥲Best UT99 track of all time for me, thanks for posting 2h extended🖤
Cool, one of my faves as well!
Love this! So Chill. UTT99 for the win.
Nothing beats the atmosphere of UT99
Game design of this map was incredible back then, as well as music!
It really is pretty hard to beat

Hard to judge UT99 vs 2004, but UT99 was the OG!
I fucking love this music. Thank you for your hard work. Now I can listen on my PA system in better fidelity :) BIG PROPS!
Woah, so you use a PA for fun listening at home? That must sound HUGE

Thank you so much :)
Glad you like it!
Beautiful and mysterious
Agreed 😎
Brilliant 🦾🦾🦾🦾🦾
Thanks!
Nostalgia forever !
I will forever be nostalgic about this one 😎
Also the first dm map oblivion has this track and is kinda cool too.
Ah true! Forgot about oblivion
Cool channel, I love MvdB and all sort of tracker stuff.
Thanks! Tracker music is one of my favorite styles
Was this inspired by a movie, where there was an underwater lab studying some alien species?
Could be, there was a James Cameron movie called The Abyss which is sort of that premise. I think this is one of the most beautiful maps in UT

I would love to know what kind of genre of music this is? I love this❤
Is it Jungle or..idk
Please let me know.
It's a specific style/era of computer music called "tracker music", you could search TH-cam for that and see if you like other stuff
Does this exist in ut2k4? Perhaps as a recreated map ?
I don't think it was a stock map in 2k4 but I'm sure there was a fan remake
Noice(r)!
Haha thanks 👽👍

Hell yeah, UT and Q3 were the pinnacle
I hate playing this map in campaign mode, especially on a hard difficulty.
Oh yeah I had the same experience, it's easy to attack but really hard to defend. I played the campaign recently and got stuck on this one.
i love it , sorry if its rude but maybe i can use ur remaster ? any problem with that ? pls let me know , also good job !
I'm glad you like my remaster! How are you looking to use it?
