I don't want to throw any shade, but that's not new. I upgraded my enders with that exact extruder in 2021. Also, if there isn't any wear on the original extruder gear, why replace it? Save the new one for later when it does wear out (not that it's likely to wear out by using an ender 3 as a hobby printer).
I have a print farm with 16 Ender 3's and 2 Prusa minis, all of which get heavy use so I have replaced enough parts on all of them, including the extruder gear (for heavy use or exotic filaments, switch to the stainless steel) that the only original parts are the frame extrusions.

It’s all good man. Just showing anyone that’s interested how to change to the updated metal version if they want. I’m exclusive to Elegoo now. The ender was my starter printer and now my son uses it.

@@theguyofalltrades the problem is many ender 3 from oryginal run with plastic extruder mounted on the gantry with bownden setup have pressed on brass tooth gear and you can't simply change that without heat and gear puller or swaping the whole motor and this is the part that wears the most on this extruder, being plastic has nothing to do with how it works unless it start to crack from overtensioning when the gear gets bald so it is not really an upgrade for many people because the working component, brass wheel with teeth on the motor shaft is still the same
dual gear would be a direct upgrade and that thing has lower gearing ratio and two sides are pushing on the filement
creality metal extruder is just a replacement and even funnier it has no wiring loom mounting hook like plastic one does so for bowden setup it is sometimes even less than an upgrade
