I ran away from my dad’s side of the family for 14 years, i chose. I started my redemption by spending time with my uncle on his last birthday before he passed months later. My cousin told me him and his family searched for me. I hope one day I can forgive myself.

I haven't seen my dad in around 5 years now, I left his home to stay with my mum around 12 years ago, and as time goes on have seen him less and less till I stopped all together. it's weird to feel guilty over leaving someone who made me miserable, ironically seeing him become more and more feeble and depressing over the years through his Facebook photos and posts make me feel guilt

After beating the DLC this speech really spoke to my soul. I’ve come far in my journey, and I look back to see how far I’ve come as a person. However my past holds a lot of shame and regret, but I’m learning to forgive myself, and to speak life into that old version of me without hating who I was. I simply didn’t know better, and I hurt the people I loved the most, and I have to live with that. So everyday I wake up, I am thankful for another chance to make things right.

It improved my self-esteem when I began saying this to myself, and i'm working on my confidence again. I may even become a christian, as I go to church every Wednesday and Sunday. Thank you.

Because he was. He let his own personal hatred and grudge to the gods result in the deaths of countless innocent people and the destruction of an entire realm/pantheon, deserving or not. He really was insanely selfish, and it feels like he reflects on that here.

I can hear this song in me when i remember 1 year. That 1 year was best year i've ever experienced. I had a pretty girl, homies, purpose. Now, i lost everything. That girl gone and she said she dont wanna talk to me anymore. My Homies was mad at me because i cannot get round to them. I read somewhere that one of the developers of the original god of war series hated how kratos wasn't as "macho" as he was intended. but i really do appreciate how he seems to have so much wisdom, he learned all of this by fighting. By occupying his body his mind can work things out, as Tyr said. He used to be the god of war, but now he *is* the god of hope. its this speech, this declaration and acceptance of this part of himself that really sings.

I never really liked playing the classic God of War games, but when the first in the new franchise came out, I had just had a son. I've become bald and have a beard nowadays and this has drawn my attention physically to the character. When I started playing, I immediately saw myself in the character with all the bitterness and sense of fatherhood. Now that my marriage is over, I don't see my son as much as I would like, my life is shattered, this scene really means something to me, creating a parallel with my experiences

I’m heading into 7th grade in September. I’m genuinely scared that soon is the end of the free and easy days in life,and is the end of me having fun constantly. I’m starting to have more falling outs with friends, my 6th grade year and summer camp before that was so bad that everyday during those summer camp and 6th grade days, all me and my friends would do is talk about nostalgia, and essentially nothing else. I’m doing perfectly fine in life. I’m nearly a black belt in karate, I have good grades, A future forming choir career, and overall my life is looking good. I can't give you a clear solution, but I can tell you this: Do not beat yourself up about it. You already know it is something that holds you back, but it is already a great effort you made with your time clean. Feeling immense shame will only pull you in deeper because you might think you are not worth/ready for the real thing. But that is a lie. It does not make you unworthy of real love and affection.
