Hi everyone! I know I said I'd email a photo of my flight plan to anyone that asked, but I never thought this video would get any more than 100 views or so. I've gotten too many requests to keep up with at this point, sorry all! -Han
I've probably watched this video 8 times now prepping for my checkride! My binder is amazing thanks to you! Checkrides tomorrow and feeling a lot better about it!
@@braydenmethven4672 I did pass Feb 9th was my PPL check. Examiner was impressed by the binder and it just made everything so much smoother having it ready to go when he asked for it.
If you’re still out there reading comments, thanks for the information. Doing my written this week and hoping that I can knock out the rest of my training within the next two months or so.
Common question I've heard many times regarding airspaces- dpe points at random airport (will definitely be uncontrolled, under a B and a C)(they really look for one lmao) and it goes like "Imagine you're in a rocketship, going straight up. Walk me through every airspace you're going to fly through, surface to 60,000 ft". Really helps with understanding airspaces and their layout.
I didn't get the "surface to 60,000 feet" question, but I would imagine it's a possibility you could. But yes, pointing to any airport is fair game. Mine asked me about this tiny little airport in the middle of a Charlie that had a SFRA, as well as airports near our home airport. Also: I said this in the video but seriously.... have the Chart Supplement US on hand!!! My DPE pointed to an airport in G airspace on the chart...but since charts aren't revised as often as the Chart Sup., it actually had changed to be a class E! Be careful! They'll get you with that stuff.
Hannah thank you so much for posting this. I’m getting ready in the next 30 days to have my check ride and I am as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. Hearing your input seeing the resources that you used but knowing despite a tsunami worth of 100 low lead you made it through. Your inspirational!
Hi Hannah, I arrived late to your video but congratulations 3 years later. Now that you are a seasoned pilot you can share even more of your experiences as it is important to many of us.
Watched this last night, took my private check ride this morning, passed with flying colors! Honestly really great tips , I wanted a way to check the materials I was bringing against someone else and this was perfect!
Hannah, this video is so very helpful! Thanks for sharing that you only scored 75 on your knowledge test. That was my score, and you've given me hope! You planned for your checkride quite thoroughly. Thanks to you, so will I. Hoping to take it by the end of July. If I pass, it will be in part because of your video! Much obliged from Texas.
Hi Hannah. My checkride is in about a month. I’m a senior citizen but a former high s hook principal and I loved your video. I’m very very nervous and I don’t know everything I need to know. Thank you again.
*I know I’m late, but this video was so through and well done Hannah!! I love how you added “deep breaths” to your “what I brought to the Checkride” list in the description. I didn’t open up my faraim in the exam either!* 😂🤷♀️ and thanks for the shout out, kind of you! 🥳
Abbie thank you! It was stressful to put together but I felt the information was so important for student pilots to hear😫 You can never bring enough deep breaths😂 You're the best!
Best checkride video I’ve watched. Please keep up the content. I’ve also learned as long as I don’t dump avgas all over myself I’ll consider it a success!😂
I’ll be taking my Checkride in about 10 days and Your video is probably the best from all that I’ve watched... U really helped me focus on stuff I didn’t think about.. Thank uuu✊🏽
Congratulations to you! I am currently in my post solo stage of my Private Pilot training. I completed my first solo flight on February 21st, 2020! I am also very excited to earn my Private Pilot License soon!
Wow! I'm so glad I didn't see your video before my check ride - you were way better prepared than I was, I would have panicked big time! I passed but really, your preparation was incredible. Great video with great advice BTW.
WOW! Great stuff! As a CFI for four decades and as a new DPE, I have NEVER seen ANYONE so prepared. keep-up the great work and professionalism; you will go far!
Thank you for your help. I also follow you on Instagram. You have come a long way. My checkride is next week. Keep up the good work. A good pilot is always learning!
Great job, Hannah! Actually the BEST prep video I have watched …😊 PLEASE do a video on flight portion of checkride! You are age of my great grandchildren! Amazing job! I will be going for my checkride in next few months…SO glad I saw your prep video!😊
Great video! I currently am working on my private license, and work at an airport. I've had a few moments like your last clip, it absolutely sucks! Congrats on obtaining your PPL!
My check ride is scheduled for this coming Monday. I appreciate you posting this. Your story at the end and how you ended it made me laugh out loud. I needed that laugh and story to calm the nerves 😊 congratulations on getting your ppc!!
Been watching your acrobatic flight training. You have come a long way in a short time. You are doing awesome things in the Extra. Lookout Patty Wagstaff.
This is VERY useful, you are articulate and I learned a lot!. I hope you can create a video on the process of learning to fly like thinking out the maneuvers or how your or your CFI structured your learning , what things were difficult to learn . I am finding that my lessons fly past me but I dont feel the plane like my CFI does or quickly reacts , yet - newbie and all. Basically any tips on how to watch out in the learning process. THANK YOU!
Thank you very much, I appreciate it! I'm definitely planning on filming more videos in the next few weeks related to being a student pilot, I've just gotta finish more filming and editing but they'll be coming out soon! :)
This is actually really intimidating, but I had my mock oral Monday afternoon and (while not anywhere as organized) it actually went very well! Still, there's a lot to be said about being prepared like this ("better to be over-prepared than under-prepared!"); in fact my CFI showed me the notes he had written all over his copy of ACS, which the Examiner allowed him to use (notes and all) during his PPL oral, and had I not watched this video the previous night, THAT would have been even more intimidating! ;)
Passed my checkride on May 08 2020 for my private pilot. Used your tips, really helped. Even though I didn't have to look up any questions. I will do a video and post on my channel as well.
Hannah, Thank you so much. Just passed my written and check ride is coming around pretty fast. You are very detailed, super pro in my view. Will follow your advice. Hope you always fly safe & high. God bless you.😃💫🛫
Just passed my checkride this week! Thanks for the advice and the story haha. I didn't spill fuel on myself but I did have an alternator failure during my flight! That made things interesting for sure!
This video was so helpful! My eval is in a couple of weeks and I feel like I am a mess, but this really helps put things into perscpective and a great way ahead for getting everything organized. Thank you!
This video is extremely helpful! I am not too far through my training yet, but I am getting close to taking my first solo flight. I figure that it is never too early to start preparing for the oral exam! This really helped put it into perspective on what types of questions the examiner will ask and how to handle the questions. I tend to overstudy and worry about everything, so let’s hope it isn’t a problem! I do think the flight portion would be interesting to learn about from your perspective, if you ever feel like making a video about it. I would definitely keep watching any future videos of yours, as you do an amazing job at explaining things! Would you be able to send me the picture of the flight plan? A lot of times it helps me to learn when I can see a final product and then understand how it works. My instructor hasn’t really taught me anything about it yet, but he gave me the sheet. Thank you for making this video and sharing your stories to help all of us who are preparing, and I wish you the best on whatever your goals are for your pilot journey! 😊
Great Video!! Not sure if you are still viewing responses due to high Volume but if you want to upload the planning sheets creat a generic drop box and upload them..make them public and put the link in the notes
This was very helpful to watch. Will be doing my checkride probably in a few weeks near where you did yours - I fly out of KRNT. Thanks for the video... and sorry for laughing (at you) at your last story, but it was funny. Good to know I'm not the only one who's going to be a nervous wreck.
Hey thank you so much for this I’m taking my Private Pilot check ride on September 14 so I wasn’t exactly sure what to use to study and what to focus on and this helped a lot! Thank you so much calmed me down a lot.
Thanks for helping with my upcoming Check Ride. I lol when you got yourself in the face with binder page. Great stress reliever, to cute! Fuel story was great too.
Thank you! I'm currently trying to study for Instrument so I might be a little delayed with that, and then I plan on just de-briefing the Instrument after. Maybe I'll make both videos at once.
