I like your videos and how you keep it simple. I am trying to brush up on my diesel knowledge and I find your videos very helpful.
I completely forgot about how the smart charging system works with the IAT to regulate system charge, this is something that tends to be overlooked in making diagnosis (at least by me, lol). LIN Bus is also important and somewhat different to pinpoint possible causes of failure, but a scope is certainly a must have for accurate TESTING.
Nonetheless, it is a great reminder of the various variables that must be considered when attempting to diagnose these systems.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us sir.

Hi, Ive got a question about the voltage Level. Meassuring the voltage directly at the battery i get values around 14.8V. The temperature outside is below 5 degrees. Is the value to high? I was expecting maximum 14.4V . (2.2L mj2012 defender)

I would have thought that was correct. What amperage is it putting in with the batter half charged at that temperature?

....good stuff mate.....it's bloody stupid how complex these systems are becoming though....you'l soon need a degree in electronics to change a light bulb...
