- HOW TO GET AROUND ENGLAND'S FAIRYTALE CASTLE :LOST// (Part 1) Although Joerg and I don't have a bucket list as such, we definitely have some places that we want to visit and explore and Belvoir Castle has been on that list for years. Maybe it's because we are German and the film 'Little Lord Fauntleroy' is so popular in Germany. It's a film from 1980 and Belvoir Castle was used as a filming location. Also parts of the series 'The Crown' (Season 3) were filmed there. It's the most beautiful place ever. We also take you with us to our accommodation at Audley End but stay tuned for Part 2 which will come your way on Friday as things didn't turn out as they should have. Kirsten & Joerg x

This may well be my favorite video so far! Jorge getting lost was awesome, not because he got lost, but because he missed Kirsten and said" she's the love of my life". So beautiful and I think it was so very sweet when he kissed her forehead on his return. Always enjoy your videos...💕😊

Beautiful as always. Joerg is the loveliest husband, so sweet and he cooks too!! You are both so lucky to have found each other. Joerg pronounces tomato like we do in the U.S. the accommodations are actually quite nice its just that the decor is very stark. Can't wait to see part 2.

Wow, not many men admit how much they love the woman in their life much less on camera. I love Joerg. He is a keeper! The tour was wonderful. I looked the castle up while you were giving us a tour and the inside is so gorgeous as well. I agree with your accommodations, it needed to be warmed up s bit and color added. It was very lean and cool although it was still very nice. Oh and your dinner looked delicious. It made me hungry.

Dear couple: The castle looked wonderful, so did the gardens and the statues... BUT the loveliest of it all was, (is), the SWEETNESS of JOERG. Not only his words, but the look in his eyes, and the tone of his voice when he finally spotted Kirsten, simply described what LOVE is all about...

Oh yes, I also watch it every Christmas time; Der kleine Lord in German. I love this film. And the music in your video in the garden let you think that little Cedric will jump in garden around the next corner. The garden looks so nice. No idea how they can manage to let the bougainvillea. We have been lost in so many large gardens on castle properties and it's so much fun. But I did finally get a compass app on my phone. Joerg when you went into that cave I actually ducked, bahahaha.

Loved this video. I love Little Lord Fauntleroy and i just recently watched it several times at least, maybe 3 times. Freddie Bartholomew plays Ceddie so beautifully. The grounds and garden are lovely. And what Joerg said when he got lost was just so beautiful. You guys are the sweetest people. I like how you don't play music all the time and you give us a chance to hear the actual beauty of the garden like birds and your feet crunching on the ground walking. It is like we are there. Thank you for taking us on this lovely tour.

That was so cute “Joerg's Story” Another great tour. The rental looks very nice and clean. I guess the interior is modernized as it’s easier to clean. I’ve seen Little Lord Fauntleroy but the 1936 version with Freddie Bartholomew. Growing up, the movie they would show at Christmas was Heidi with Shirley Temple. Can’t wait to see Part 2! Thank you! Hm, not sure about the cleaning, it really lacked colour and looked quite dull, it doesn't look too bad on film but was in reality.
Well a big question to ask is whether you are warm in your accomodation and if the hot water is hot, whether curtains cover the windows well etc (no bright street light shining in your bedroom window). Very spacious but yes it does lack colour; perhaps for the first make over they were being cautious and perhaps not very free to be adventurous )

Little Lord Fauntleroy is a very popular, sweet, sweet film. The little actor, Freddie Bartholomew, was born 1924 in London. He migrated to the U.S. in 1934 because of Hollywood. He made the movie David Copperfield in 1935 and the other film ( Fauntleroy) in 1936. He had many legal problems with Hollywood, so when he reached adulthood, he switched to directing and producing. He became a U.S. citizen in 1943. He died in Florida in 1992 at the age of 67. We have a Fort Belvoir here in Virginia. We pronounce it Bel-vor. Loved your video! I especially loved Joerg saying he missed you and loved you. What a sweet man!

The Anglo Saxons were unable to pronounce belvoir so they called it beaver .joerg was so sweet.missed you when he was lost for a half hour and confesed his love for you. Loved the statues and the gardens.

I'm looking through your earlier videos - you were a bit disappointed with the rooms, which is totally understandable - with a minimal input of effort that could be a very cosy place with a bit of older furniture and wall art etc. Jörg is such a sweetheart! 😊

Well, I am not German, however, in the USA..I loved The film Little Lord Fauntleroy. Not only the 1980 version with Ricky Schroeder and Alex Gunness filmed at Belvoir Castle but, also the 1936 version with Freddie Bartholomew. And, growing up I was fortunate to have a friend from Leicestshire, England. A blast from the past hearing you talk about this!! I always love your videos. Thank you as always.

I remember seeing the 1936 version of this movie at a school auditorium in America, around 1948 -1950 . I don’t remember much, except all us kids laughing at his fancy suit with the white ruffles.
In Switzerland (grew up in Zürich), we wached „Der kleine Lord“ as well. But now, I live since 25 years in New Mexico. In the mid to late 1980 I spent all together about a year in England (Illford, Essex) and travelled quite a bit around. Found your Vlog only few days ago - what a blessing! Binge wached ever since.

I just watched Little Lord Fauntleroy recently, and thought it was charming! The child actor was wonderful in the part. In the U.S. the expression "little lord Fauntleroy" means a goody-goody entitled child, but honestly, the character in the movie was strong and good!
How perfect! I would love to explore all of these places when I finally have the opportunity to travel to England. And just before watching this, I was wondering about the tradition of afternoon tea and its origins. How serendipitous! I have seen a much older version of the film so I will have to watch yours. Joerg's declaration of his love for you may have been the dearest thing I have ever seen. I think you two should write a travel guide.
It is so hard to add anything new but I agree with all those that found their hearts melted when Joerg told us how much he loved you and missed you, I think it also shows a wonderful person you are to have earned such devotion. I was married 45 years and my husband was very open about liking to be around me and feeling comfortable when I was near. Now as a widow, that love sustains me still.
I thought the accommodations were very soothing, clean looking, uncluttered and had beautiful views!

I can understand why you were disappointed with the interior of your accommodation - very plain & basic & not at all to your taste. Still it looked clean and well kept and the outside and parkland were absolutely beautiful! I’ve enjoyed this trip with you.
My Father's side come from Scotland and Wales and maybe England in the 1830s and I have a FB friend who lives in middle England now so your films allow me to satisfy that desire to see the UK --- your love is my love and I live it out through your films. I've always loved the Little Lord Fauntleroy story. I have a book with nice illustrations published by Charles Scribner's Sons in 1902 (a gift from my grandma), and have seen the 1936 movie with Freddie Bartholomew. (I may need to actually buy or rent via TH-cam the 1980 film you mentioned.) I also like "The Secret Garden". Even though I'm 66, I don't feel too old to enjoy these stories!

I saw the 1932 version of Little Lord Fauntleroy movie, I used to own it. My children grew up with these classics in the 1980s-90s.
When you made back to the castle after being lost right there it was my favorite shot! Magnificent shots at 14:12, 14:19 min. and you knew it, right? You stopped right there and stayed there for a while... guys, I like all of your videos! Great guides you both are! Yes, it's plain to see she's the love of your life, needless to say it, but I guess the relief of seeing her there, finding her, THAT was probably what made you "scream your love to the world" kkkkkkk and I say Bravo! Too sweet and so sincere/spontaneous... the Cambridge Lodge wasn't so bad at all, Kirsten, good light and windows in the bedroom, I'd give it a thumbs up, I didn't expect to see an spectacular British cozy space at all... minute 24:49 is stunning too! From the outset I was excited about this video and had to pause it to write this. I too love the film Little Lord Fauntleroy. Belvoir Castle is only about an hour or so drive from my home and I have always wanted to return. On my last visit, I took my late Grandmother who passed away in 1990 and so you can tell how long ago I'm going back. We visited at Christmas time and I remember the Great Hall being filled with hand bell ringers. They were brilliant. I have always wanted to return. I will now release the pause and watch this Vlog with anticipation. Thank you xxx
