I trimmed a video. I cut it just about in half. No matter which of the three choices I select, a gap remains. I cannot seem to get rid of the gap. There is audio on the audio track too if that makes a difference. Is there a scenario that you know of that will not allow the gap to be filled? Thanks in advance.
Steve, One trick you can do is to press the TAB key. This will switch to the storyboard mode from the timeline mode. It's something you can toggle on and off. Sometimes when you look at your project that way you can see the "blank" areas. And you can delete them if needed. Let me know if that helps. --Jim
@@SharperTurtle your trick did not work however I found something very interesting. If I remove the audio from the track and then delete the clip the correct action occurs. The gap is filled. But this does not work if there is audio associated with the clip.
@@SharperTurtle Hello again. I went on the forum and got a quick response. My video has native audio on it and I overrode it with music. Users in the forum told me that PD treats the video differently if you do that. The solution was to move the audio to another audio track. In my case, #2. Once I put it on a different track all works fine. Thought you might like to know this little nuance about PD.
Do you have a video showing how to use multiple tracks with multiple video clips? I still don't understand why I might need to do that lol. You are good teacher, thanks!
Migo, Glad you find these tutorials useful! There are several occasions when multiple tracks and multiple clips are useful. You see it when a TV anchor reads a news story about a dog being rescued and the video of the story occupies part of the screen. You can find one example by searching on "quad-movie clip" within my playlist. Hope this helps! --Jim
I'm sad to say I don't know. I don't have the margin at the current time to explore the Android application of PowerDirector. Hopefully someone else will comment here and help you. --Jim
Trey, One of my goals is to help reduce frustration because I've felt it too. Here is a tutorial on multi-cam editing if you are shooting the same scene with more than one camera: th-cam.com/video/MSYj03Ztve8/w-d-xo.html Hope this helps. --Jim
Thanks - I had already watched that one. What I was trying to do was to find functionality similar to Adobe Premier Elements where you can activate and de-activate cameras in the timeline which helps when you are trying to use 2 audio inputs. I ended up using your help with the multi-cam editor and then re-adding audio. A bit cumbersome, but it worked. Thanks for helping. Cyberlink's tutorials are worthless.
Trey, I'm glad this was of some help. I can't improve the performance of the program, but hopefully I can discover some better ways of doing things over time and pass them along to video editors like you. --Jim
I often click on "Skip" in the lower right. After a few seconds you won't be bothered anymore. I don't permit ads during the tutorial. I believe any additional benefit to me is not worth it to the viewer. --Jim

Does this work on android?
I'm sad to say I don't know. I don't have the margin at the current time to explore the Android application of PowerDirector. Hopefully someone else will comment here and help you. --Jim
Android version is actually easier
But PC version has extra features and you can trim and split in android version
Beyond frustrated with this program. I'm just trying to switch between cameras and I can't find a simple way to do that.
