Superb compilation of images. The prelude to the art work showing the terrain was beautiful too in autumn colours. How amazing that our ancestors made this art at Lascaux, in in other places. Seeing this video is transcendent: what a privilege to be alive.
The art is so beautiful! The artists, whomever they were, so long ago, were truly gifted. To see their work, gives me renewed optimism about humanity! 💕
The paintings in the Lascaux cave may NOT be prehistoric! One painting in particular has been copied from the dendera star map. The bull, the man, the bird on a pole and a rhinoceros. The constellation Monoceros (the unicorn) was also interpreted as the RHINOCEROS. So, why am I saying this painting cannot be prehistoric? Because the constellation of the unicorn was never established until the 17th century! When the cave was found in the 1940's there was already a "tunnel" leading to the cave.
Love how some of the artists were better than others....I’ve read some recent articles that are saying that it’s possible some of the earliest paintings may have been done by Neanderthals, and that there were women among the artists.
Charles W. Stutts there are so many speculations about why the paintings were done....maybe they were done for the same reason I paint, because I like to. I know they were hunter/gatherers...and were probably focused mostly on survival...but they were the same as us, same bodies, same brains...it isn’t hard to imagine that the more artistic among them felt the need to express themselves.
Thanks Nicole, Sorry for the lack of clarity; It is difficult to photograph in the low light available in the caves. Holding the camera still long enough to take a picture without shake is almost impossible. The cave rules prevent the use of a tripod.

Man is depicted in images of a stick figure lying on the ground with a spear. Some handprints are also on parts of the wall. Thanks for commenting. CWS.
I think it was probably taboo. From the level of skill depicting the animals, they should have been capable of rendering humans with as much detail. They didn’t though, so there may have been some kind of belief that they shouldn’t.
The Book of Enoch tells of the 3 Bulls,Red is Japheth. White is Shem and Black is Ham. This cave is of the great Flood of Noah’s day and found in the days Jesus said will be like Noah’s day. The hands scene is people who did not catch the boat. We are on a countdown to the next day. May have 4years or 4 seconds. But I doubt any longer. 2023!!!

I think global warming is a sure bet to take care of the careless human problem. After all, doesn't the bible talk about roasting in hell? I think that's more likely. Jesus promoted the concept of "heaven on earth" not in the here after.

Wow,even the stars declare Him. Urea Major /God, Ursa Minor / man in Gods image. Polaris the Nirth Star unmoving Guiding Light/ Jesus. Draco the serpent / Satan separating man from God. Polaris connects U minor to U major with Invisible Line or / Holy Spirit and poured into each other. I think Noah’s descendants painted the flood on cave walls .

It is so hard to see the entire image clearly...I know it is prehistoric but I need a better view. This video however was nice to watch.
