The scariest implication I got from it was:
What if you knew the devil existed but had no proof?
The Devil is the chief problem of existence. Remove the devil, the obstacle all people must overcome at the individual level, and then there would be no reason for anyone to be born.

Saying Hereditary isn't creepy feels objectively wrong lol. The climax of Hereditary is the most spooked ive been in theaters since its release.
Still gives me chills how a grandma just sets up her kids n grandkids to be sacrificed lol fked up movie.
OJ has some very very weird opinions 😂
Hereditary truly is one of the “scariest” unsettling films. Longlegs wasn’t HORRIBLE…but it wasn’t good.
The "Tock" the daughter gave out is enough to give creepy vibes.
Hereditary is not scary that is an object fact sorry your bar for scary is low
I think the biggest problem with the way they ended the movie is that it doesn't even "end," it just STOPS.
That is a great way of putting it😭
That was Nicolas UNCAGED
Why would the FBI send Lee to bring her own mother in for questioning if she was a potential accomplice suspect??
That was for sure seemed like a flaw. But they had ZERO reason to think the mom was the accomplice. Maybe I missed something and need to watch again. But they had no idea she was involved they just needed more from her since she encountered the killer as well.
@jcaashby3 I just mean why would they send an agent to apprehend her own mother lol?? Send someone else entirely.
Mind control...
@shawnhilliard watched this today. They didn't send her to bring her in. The head agent (can't remember his name/official role) just mentioned "did you know your mother called in a report of someone on her property the day so and so went missing?" (I'm paraphrasing) and she replies "no". Head agent says "go talk to your mother". They were still looking for connections and leads. Zero reason to suspect anything of the mother
@@truthsusp3ct403I thought they were talking about the part where Longlegs mentions, “ask your mother “ and then they go to talk to her after she questions him.
Movie was interesting in the beginning but once it started delving in to the super natural it just becomes another generic horror movie with you guessed it the devil was behind it all, like that hasn't been done like a million times 5/10, 5 for the first half of the movie
Yeah that was my complaint too
Yup the supernatural shit ruined it so hard
What were you expecting? The trailers had more than enough supernatural and satanic themes in them.
@@NaruneWatercrest I saw satanic but the supernatural ones seemed more ambiguous. I only watched one preview so that’s probably why. I was probably just hoping for more. The plot twist was just so predictable too and that explanation revealed in the movie is so unnecessary because it was already easy to understand what was going on
Yeah imo, it would’ve been more interesting to have left it as a serial killer film
i don't think they should've marketed it as a horror film.. but a thriller film
It’s a horror/thriller
@@mattcollins3591 they blasted horror movie of the decade all over the place not thriller
@@rvidxrray3961 ‘they as in a movie reviewer. If someone thinks it’s the scariest movie of the decade, it’s the scariest movie of the decade.

@@mattcollins3591 The marketing campaign was scarier than the whole film.
@@dhmc45 ok? That’s cool. Not once was I even scared in the movie and still enjoyed it so lol
Amazing cinematography, great atmosphere and tone.
Abysmal story telling and plot development.
My exact feelings.
Couldn't disagree more. The plot was quite tidy and easily wrapped up with needless padding and inconsequential side-plots.
Yep my feelings also, style over substance. Yes there was a plot but it just got a bit convoluted. I think it could have made the satanic part less messy. Cutting out the whole doll thing would have made a big difference. It was just unnecessary. Also showing less of Nic Cages face like in the beginning would have been better and made it way more creepier. Once we saw more of his face it just looked fake and laughable.
I was beyond high and I thought the plot was fine lol
She only clued in to shoot the doll after she let the wife die, killed the kid's dad, and shot her own mom in the head? A+ writing right there...
Why did her gun change and only have 3 bullets. I’m British so don’t know about guns but her gun went from a pistol to a revolver gun. She only had 3 shots ?
@@neildeeley4177it seems like it jammed bc of the curse that was still on the doll. The revolver typically has 6 shots.
Trash imo
dum as it was she was not willing to let that kid remain alone in the room with her mother, and she was still hoping maybe they were not cursed.
you do know she's traumatized right ? she just went through all this and she just shot her mom and partner
Lot of foreshadowing in this film that benefits from a second viewing. For example, the inverted triangle symbol for Satan? When Lee sees it in the psychic evaluation at the beginning, she refers to it as "father". That's just one example.
What’s it foreshadowing though
There's no way I'm wasting time watching this again 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@Olsens13that the devil was father figure in her life since her mom works for him?
I think I'll actually like it, because I think slowburn horror is the most effective horror you can receive, especially in a dark theater. There is so much tension building, where it's almost uncomfortable to be sitting there watching it, that is true unnerving terror. Not the JUMPSCAREJUMPSCAREJUMPSCARE bs we get now.
It’s not really a “slow burn” it’s just a film that takes its time to focus on visuals and scenery. That atmosphere and acting was great, but it’s not a film I’d watch again. Definitely could’ve waited to watch it on Shudder or some other streaming service.
@franciscofranco5739 I agree. I was hyped for this film. And it was good imo. But I agree it's a 1 watch type film. They didn't use nicks character enough for me and I didn't like the way it unfolded storyline wise.
@@joshuat5140 yah that’s my main complaint….there was a story and plot there…..but at times it was easy to forget it. I think it could’ve used a little more action/conflict….not a ton, but a little more would’ve been good.
@@franciscofranco5739 I agree fully with you. Spoiler alert ⚠️
I think I would have liked more of a serial killer from nicks character. More like a silence of the lambs type vs a supernatural aspect. The whole doll possession just wasn't something I was expecting before I watched it nor prefer that. But I still thought it was a good film and enjoyed it. I also think the promo did phenomenal for this film. Because after watching it. I'm not sure the film alone could have gained this much buzz without all the unique promo. I also can see alot of people not liking this film.
@@joshuat5140 that’s actually exactly what I thought, I would’ve went more silence of the lambs as well…..actually that’s what I was expecting after watching the first 10-15 minutes of the film.
My take.
Not scary, everybody in the cinema laughed. Particularly at Cages parts. It really is a Beautifully shot film. Every scene looks good. The story is a bit hit or miss, I personally enjoyed it but can understand those who didn't.
They did no favours with the marketing, particularly those claiming it was the scariest film ever.
The carrie Ann scene with her weird children of the corn acting had me dying 😂
Biggest flaw was when she stayed in the house minutes after knowing and seeing Longlegs there. Like how do you have the balls not to watch your back when a serial killer could be behind you?
Because she knows long legs MO is to target families with a kid, not 25+ yr old single women
I said the same thing to my lady, like, she's just sitting there reading a book, opening the thing that says not to be opened... like are you just going to completely ignore the fact that you just seen someone in there ? not call for back up ? Not be in a corner with your gun watching your own ass ? was stupid.
I didn’t think it was a good movie at all. It was ambitious and I commend them for being original with how it’s done but that doesn’t mean it’s good. It wasn’t imo.
It was entertaining imo
I agree, It was pretty terrible imo. Nothing fet serious and was almost like dry humor to me with how dumb somethings were

Agreed. The whole movie should have been grounded in reality. When it went "supernatural" it felt rushed and tacked on..
@@radiopadillabut why? What’s wrong with the supernatural? It’s literally a horror/thriller movie…
@@MM-jc7uv The supernatural parts felt way too tacked on at the end, similar to a lot of several A24 "horror" movies, especially how the MC's psychic abilities played almost bo role in the story.

I thought the main character was going to get blamed for the killings. Like the consequences of each death if the ending.
Indeed this could have gone so many intresteting ways but sadly the proclivities of this director are grotesqueries, Shock is all he can do for he hasnt the imagination or abilty to captivate the audcience with a true horror psychological thriller.
@@SedriqMiersI also think he’s a Satanist, because literally every single movie he’s made is about Satan 😂
What are you talking about, there was nothing shocking in the movie
This is what is wrong with most movie goers. They don’t understand what they are watching. There are so many clues in the movie that tell you what is going on
It was a slow burn and that irritated me after a while because even though the tension was building, Lee and the other actors wouldnt change with that tension they kept the same pace throughout all the acts. It took away from the sense of urgency even though you could tell things were coming to a head. Its also what contributes to the feeling that you could predict what was going to happen next. The characters were so "unresponsive". The movie wasnt perfect but it was good and original in a lot of ways and worth a watch this weekend.
Yes! That’s the perfect description. The characters acted like nothing else was going on. The closest thing was when Carter pushed Harker on what she knew.
I literally walked out because it was too slow. I stayed for 90 mins and couldn’t take it anymore

I’d say worth my time. Disturbing, different, great cinematography
Everyone who enjoyed the movie loved the cinematography and atmosphere. Not a memorable movie. The story took a huge backseat to the rest of the film
I feel like the reason some people don’t like the end is bc the pacing doesn’t match the rest of the movie. Feels like it’s one reveal after the next. I think the movie could’ve benefitted from an extra 30-45 minutes to be able to maybe dive a bit deeper into the paranormal aspects of the story
This movie felt very over hyped. "Scariest movie of the decade" is quite the marketing ploy when it doesn't even come close
SPOILERS
My question is why did Lee’s mom have to kill that last family after longlegs dies? Couldn’t she just destroy Lee’s doll’s head so that she wouldn’t be possessed and be done?
Lee literally asks her this and her mom states that because of her pact to Longlegs, she has to continue the killings (at least for as many of the families he made dolls for before his death) or they'll be condemned to hell and Lee will no longer receive her psychic powers and continued protection.
She made a deal with the devil so her daughter wouldn’t have been sacrificed
@@WeeabossVA That's a great explanation brother
Another question, how is she gonna continue Longlegs’ work if he ain’t there to make any dolls & imbue them with satanic power
@JamesT094bro, THIS! THIS!!! You just destroyed the whole film 🤣
What if it’s not actually Patrick but Alex wearing Patrick’s face. And Patrick is somewhere wearing Alex’s face. Like in Face/off. Nicholas cage and John travolta did it. Why not Alex and Patrick?
Yes I think you are correct 👍
No this is PATRICK
This seems like a comment longlegs himself would write
Movie was boring. Maika was great. Nic Cage is the same as he always is. The theater I was in was packed but half the audience fell asleep. I could hear them snoring. It also got a few chuckles from the ones still awake when the movie attempted to be scary. So disappointed in this film.

i havent seen people talk about the hidden imagery in the movie. went to go see this film with some friends and almost every single one of us caught a glimpse of a goat head or some demonic image hidden in the dark corners of the frame. finding those things out for myself was what creeped me out the most!
Yep , I counted about 5-6 appearances , I was on lookout and searching for it in almost every scene. First one in the movie I believe was in the cabin on the phone. It happened really quick.
Is my favorite part of the movie, back in the day they did this with the exorcist.. growing up I remember watching the exorcist and friends showing me parts of the movie where you could see a demons face in the background, or like in the closet etc. tbh the best parts of the movie like the dolls face and the goat etc.
I think people should DEFINITELY go out and see this movie if your a fan of thrillers and horror movies. Throughout the whole film, there’s so many hints and little details that they throw in to hint at what’s coming at the end. 9/10 personally for me. Surprised the guys didn’t like it more??
Great movie
I understand the complaints, and I mentally blanked out in the satanist magic. That shit is overused. But the first two parts before the supernatural crap were GREAT.
I really wanted to love the movie, and like the one guy in this video I loved the first 3/4 of the movie as it was amazingly well crafted and shot and just oozed atmosphere and dread. It was not scary, but it was a really good detective thriller... Then the third act happened and it was no longer a detective thriller. This might be the type of film to benefit from multiple viewings, so I will see it again simply for the beautifully framed shots and to see what I missed, but I know for a fact the average moviegoer will despise the last act and ending.
Can you tell me what hints? I was looking everywhere and only find one.
@@KillbotSw I don't know the hints, but apparently you can see the shadow of the devil in many scenes in this movie. I only seen him once, but apparently he is in many other scenes too playing hide and seek.
Im sorry but to me this movie was ass and so overhyped i dont mind slow burns but i found a lot of it over the top and not creepy at all i also found the ending very underwhelming
Too much mystery doesn’t make it intriguing especially at the point where nothing gets revealed and it leaves u feeling like what’s going on
And it feels like that cuz there’s so many scenes that felt out of place becuz of how random it was and had no added detail to the plot
And once the reveal happened in the last 10 mins
It’s just like all that burn to reveal just that?!
As far as performances
The main girl was just too weird to me for no reason and I suppose they explain why she acts like that in the end but It doesn’t stick for me
Nicolas cage to me acts like straight up Nicolas cage.. hard to explain but I swear I seen him act like this several times so to me he’s character came out as just goofy and not creepy. Only thing creepy was he’s makeup
Hit the nail on its head man, there’s no motive for anything, what does Satan get from these killings, why was longlegs chosen for it, what are the mechanics of the rituals? Nothing is explained
@@joelpujols4761I can explain Lee acting so weird and emotionless; it’s because the dolls take away your ability to really feel anything because it’s essentially stealing your soul.
The balls put pieces of Longlegs’s soul into the girls. That’s why he’s so manic; he’s feeling the emotions they don’t have anymore.
@@harmonlanager2670 yeah I know I said they explained it in the end but it stick for me
Pointless movie
Just seen it. Whack. Seem far more weird Japanese and Korean films which are genuinely unsettling. Felt like it thought it was being more psychologically weird than it was. The lead girls 1970s overdone I’m weird facial expressions were pissing me off too
Plot makes no sense but it has a creepy atmosphere. What was the point of the notes or making the pentagram with the dates? Why did he leave that evidence? What was it going to accomplish if he killed all of his victims and made the pentagram? If you're really anal about plot holes or things making sense, you won't like this movie. However, if you enjoy atmospheric horror and don't get so caught up in the plot being sensible or logical you can enjoy it. It's like you're exploring someone else's nightmare, things happen and they are creepy but it's not something you can make a whole lot of sense with.
Good director. Should have let someone else do the screenplay
The only thing I can think of is that Longlegs is human (therefore flawed and prone to error) and like all crazy killers they crave some sort of attention/fame which is why he left the trail behind him, and it did feel like he wanted to get caught in the movie. As for the pentagram, he worships Satan the murders were constructed as a ritual/tribute to him like many killers in real life like to do, they usually have MO’s and ritualistic components. Also they’re not plot holes because they don’t contradict or conflict with other parts of the story. Maybe unnecessary stylistic choices but it’s not a plot hole
This
Because they were leading her along
I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a movie with more plot holes. ***SPOILERS***Where did the metal orbs come from? Why was he a satanist? Wtf?! The audience is expected to just accept whatever’s thrown at them and there are no rules unlike It Follows for example. Cheap
That’s nitpicky as hell the orbs are made with satanic magic using bits of the girl and him they explain that. He’s a satanist because he has trauma from the church most likely. He’s a psychopath we don’t need to see what makes him tick, all of the parts to make a story work are there you just need to put them together as the audience members.
It seemed like he bought the orb at the store with the girl who called for her dad, he was implied to be the actual devil - lot of implication but I agree it’s a bit vague.
It's supernatural horror. The Devil affects everyone. The Devil can't be stopped by the protagonist, hence the gun jamming. Not everything needs to be explained. It's a genre blend film.
@@eazymethod01the revolver didn’t jam it was out of ammo
Were the visions of snakes symbolic? Or was it a flashback? I wanted that explained more clearly. I understand the symbolic reference, just confused.
The devil was there, when she goes in the house and the door closes....check the reflection ;)
Even after watching this whole video, I still have no fucking clue what this movie was about. There was a doll...
Yea it was super disappointing . watch Arcadian with nick cage . its way better
a who done it with a bs explain away lame excuse of a metal ball imbued with devil psychic powers embedded inside a dolls head that has a life like resembleance of the child the devil wants to possess. Its only saving grace was Nicks performance the drawn out needless scenes made the movie way too long and would have been cut by 40mins or more.
Not worth it, wait for to be on TV free.
I'm so happy I didn't pay to see this
Longlegs more like long breaths . I wasted my money on this movie . I give it a 5 /10
More like LongNaps. 3/10
Long legs is awful. The characters aren't interesting the plot makes no sense and nic cage is practically a cartoon character in this. The movie doesn't make any sense with the method of how long legs does the killings. It's a 1 out of 10 for me
Even for a bad comedy, it fails. 3/10
I really enjoyed it- but I also am there for Cage being bonkers. I got bonkers cage. I was okay with the ending, too.

@@OldSchoolDudeGaming just looking at the trailer I could tell he would be on-screen for around 5 minutes total
You guys need to watch the Japanese movie Cure! It is from 1997. It’s a similar story but much better executed in my opinion!
SPOILERS!
I enjoyed the nostalgic 70s into the 90s aesthetic with the film. recognizing everything from the cupboards to the carpets of those homes continually reminded me of my own childhood but in a unsettling way. The film's narrative centered around children and so perhaps just for me personally that added to the sense of dread. That combined with the most off putting music I think I've ever heard in a movie i was simply unnerved the entire time. I also think Nicholas Cage did a good job playing an absolute weirdo satanist. The way he was constantly manic and sang things randomly while looking like an absolute train wreck was effective. The twist with the mom may be fairly predictable but I like how Longlegs needed a nun to do his bidding since he had been attempting to get the dolls inside Catholic homes for a while but because he was such a freak people told him to kick rocks. I don't remember if the movie outright explains it but I took his invasion of the main character's home when she was a child as him getting fed up with being refused and taking advantage of them being isolated and vulnerable. He needed the mother to pose as a nun to get the cursed objects inside the homes so that he could operate the dolls from inside using satanic magic. I enjoyed that he was a classic satanist taken to a violent and horrific conclusion in that his ritualistic killings were rooted in blasphemy. Some satanist teachings are that to blaspheme against God is to make a mockery of all that is good or holy to commit atrocities that fly in the face of the very concept of ethics or morality that is understood by western/biblical culture. The brutal slayings of families is truly horrific, the very nature of it is an affront to God. He was obsessed with Revelations 13:1 which is about the many headed beast wearing crowns etc. 13 plus 1 is 14 so girls born on the fourteenth the nine circles of hell so nine year old girls, etc. The sound design was perfect, the way Longlegs would continue to increase the pitch of his voice while screaming and then it tied into a high screech musical note or score or whatever you want to call it left me feeling gross. The ending could have been perhaps a little better just based on how the story unfolds real quick but I dont know how to make it better honestly. You have to explain some things to the audience or else you risk being so vague that its unsatisfying. So all in all I don't really mind the movie just taking a minute to show its cards in a flashback when the main FBI girl passes out. Sometimes thats better than asking the audience to watch the movie five times to figure it out. I would give it a 9 out of 10 and put it in my top ten of the year so far. Maybe on the lower end of the list but i'll have to think about it some more.
I enjoyed it as well.

I normally like a nice slow burn that u can catch little details in and pick apart. But this one had me sleeping in the theatre.
THIS THE COMMENT I WAS LOOKING FOR!!. I didn't fall asleep at all my last 10 or 15 times in the theater. I legit fell asleep twice on this bullshit
It seems like people these days have forgotten what makes a good movie.
High quality dialogue, good casting, interesting storytelling and believable acting. Of which this movie had none of that.
The only positive parts of it was the cinematography and sound design (other than the parts that tried to make the audience deaf) other than that it was pretty terrible.
The high pitched jump scares were more grating and annoying than scary. Jump scares do not equal horror or anything of that nature.
The parts where Cage decided to break out his new singing career were completely unnecessary and uncalled for. Making the serial killer, or whatever he plays, that strange is more cringe than Oscar worthy acting.
The script was awful! She’s an FBI agent and she’s afraid of her own shadow, that’s completely unrealistic for an FBI agent. She has absolutely no facial expressions, her mouth doesn’t even seem to open when she talks, no people skills (that’s what pissed me off the most) she’s an FBI agent for Christ sakes, and she can barley interact with her superiors let alone a child. Pathetic.
The story made very little sense, mainly because of the minimum dialogue and then one big segment of EXPO dumping near the end.
Why did the doll take control of the children/family?
What was with the creepy horned shadow that appeared throughout the movie? I guess it was satan… “hail satan” COME ON, what a ridiculous line.
I’ve never really enjoyed Nic Cage, I think he’s overrated and over acts most of his roles. He might be a great guy in real life, but his style of acting is completely cringe and oozes egotism, like he thinks he’s the best thing since sliced bread.
Comparing this to an amazing movie such as Silence Of The Lambs is a disgrace and shows the lack of knowledge of what elevates a movie from bland crap (this) to a classic, well cast and high quality production such as SOTL.

I had issues with the FBI in this film. They seem terrible at their jobs lol. Still very moody and suffocating, but I was taken out of the film by the way people acted in the face of what happens….
Hollywood is terrible at writing police detectives. The detectives were campy in Maxxxine too. Most likely it's because detectives in the real world are actually pretty boring and don't actually go out to solve cases on their own but work as a entire department so they have to fictionalize the process a great deal.
I loooved this movie. 9/10
I fell in love with the movie’s atmosphere, cinematography, and imagery while watching it. I loved it so much that I would have preferred if it just stayed in the serial killer pocket. Instead in leaned into the supernatural in a a sloppy way. Sucks, it had some potential to be great. Still applaud it for originality.
Spoliers: I think he uses tge songs to put his victim in a trance. Which he uses when he sings to young Harper and when you sings Happ Birthday
this isn't going to be for everyone
Long legs had plot armor issues. If you look at the FBI's agent's firearm she sports a postol after she wakes up she has a revolver.
Glad someone else caught that I was so confused lol
@@TalkToMeQA78 her pistol was more than likely taken. She finds a revolver in the basement? Can’t remember. The plot more than likely considers the firearm switch as more symbolic than anything.
Or production began closer to revolver scene, and they didn’t want to reshoot after choosing to give the character a semi auto pistol half into filming.
@@naughtynicholas Possible.. symbolic maybe.. but as a viewer with a hawks eye it's more of a disconnect than anything else. The prop department has been in the view of the public eye before. The Rust movie or The Crow movie oversight always comes to mind. It makes me wonder who's in charge and how accidents happen.
I assumed it was taken from her and the mom gave her the revolver with only enough rounds to kill the father, and her and possibly the doll…. BUT she took 2 shots to kill the Father instead of one head shot to each and last one would be the doll.
All FBI have a second concealed firearm. It was hidden in her boot
Other Joe is right I wish Nicholas cage did more stuff
IDK. I liked it and it keeps getting better the more it sits. The more it sits with me the more I feel I need to see it again to see hidden threads. It def has to be viewed twice.
Movie was ok at best. Some of that marketing was misleading. And Idk how the main character got through half her life let alone became a FBI agent she acts weird as shit and is bad at her job.
Dude Hereditary was one of the scariest movies I’ve seen and I love horror movies. That shit was terrifying, I don’t know what OJ is talking about 😂😂😂
Cap. Go away.
Nah. Interesting story, and creepy sure, but was not a scary movie until the very end. And even then it wasn’t anything crazy.
Facts Hereditary the best horror movie of the last 15 years for me. U say Hereditary bad then aint shit for us to talk about
Still don’t understand why Hereditary is so popular. Watched it several times, what am I missing??
By the sounds of it.. the whole point of the film
@@lukeanderson5726 You mean the point the woman narrating the film made in the last five minutes??? When there was no narration at any other point in the film? Hereditary is the most overrated horror film I have seen. It was alright until the girl gets her head tether-balled... Then it becomes a funeral procession with lots of grating moments of screaming grief and cliched seances and Ouija boards ... And then there is the ending... The last 10-15 minutes of Hereditary was awful. People were LAUGHING in the theatre that I was in back in 2018... I don't blame them... They managed to pack every horror cliche imaginable in the last 10 minutes of the movie and make them cheesy and unscary... 2002 CGI fire. Toni Collete manifested as a towel flying on a zipline. Naked old Grandpa smiling in the dark. Ridiculous. If it has such a great plot, then why did they need a narration to explain it at the end? It makes it seem like the filmmakers did not have confidence in their audience at all...
@@odoaceroftheneoromanempire7178 i know opinions are subjective but that's got to be one of the worst takes I've ever seen
@@odoaceroftheneoromanempire7178 Hereditary is the most overrated horror movie you've ever seen? You must have never seen The Babadook. But nah, it's perfectly fine to not like the movie. Don't listen to the guy who said that your take was horrible. I've never seen Hereditary, but I feel the same way about The Babadook, and people hyped up that movie so much. Horrible movie, imo.
@@odoaceroftheneoromanempire7178 I hope this A24 trend of banking an entire film on the “twist” in the last 5 minutes ends soon
Yeah Im at a 6 or 7 as well. This really could have been good. But they messed it up. It's just not scary enough and it's not good enough. They had all the pieces to make a really scary movie. They didn't achieve that.
Hereditary was one of the scariest movies I had seen in my life. I think Joe might be overlooking some of the creepiness. Like how a Woman sacrificed her children for a Demon, it not working then the next Generation completing the Evil work, with the Grand Children. It was deeply disturbing for my taste.
hereditary ending still gives me goosebumps. freaky asf
I might actually want to see this film. I generally like movies with a supernatural horror twist. It's even more promising that Joe and the crew did not like it as much. We seem to be at the other end of the spectrum from each other when it comes to movies. Although I did like Hereditary... hmm... I think I will wait for it to stream. At least that way I won't be directly thinking about how it cost me to watch it at a theater to bias my view.
I feel like this movie was overly hyped because Nicolas Cage is in it, or could be something else, but it was ok bit weird and creepy but not scary at all. I give it a 5/10
Watch Arcadian witch nick cage . much better
@@charlesdotterman4580 OK, I’ll give it a shot
Not gonna lie, Old Naked People are fuckkking scary lmfaoooo....
The movie was incredibly slow. It didnt help that the film basically had no music. maybe like 5 minutes of the film had a film score. I think a better composer would've helped it a ton.
A Frailty type ending to this movie would've slapped
"Longlegs" I assume it's about spider and I can already feel the creepy crawling legs
It’s not
@@Bhutchin09 oh good I can watch it
@@snakeeyesvolley8178 lol yeah I just went today. I went in completely blind. I enjoyed it enough. Worth the watch but wasn’t anything to write home about. Hope you enjoy it
It’s the name of the serial killer, and just like the rest of the movie it doesn’t matter because there’s literally no reason or explanation as to why he’s called Longlegs lol.
I found a daddy long legs in my wardrobe while watching this
Honestly, it felt like dumbed down Blackcoats Daughter, similar themes and more explaining. I would recommend watching his previous work “Blackcoats Daughter” and Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s “The Cure”
Felt like a mix of both
As Nicholas Cage fanboy, I have two framed pictures of him in my house, he made this movie worse in that role
Longlegs was great! It's all atmosphere and tone, so it's not as detailed as Fincher or as crazy as Aster, however it's a good inbetween.
I wonder if Nick was her father. That could be true.
I was expecting that.
Plot holes galore, the familes had no one over for the kid's bday parties? no cousins, no friends...
Longlegs was given 30 seconds to off himself, what?
The movie is 7/10, its good, i like it.
Definitely a 6 at most
@AngryJoeShow why haven't you guys reviewed Three-body Problem yet is it because of Weiss and Benioff ?
given that the books are a little different there Netflix adaptation is still very good and i wish more people with a platform would review it :)
First 30 minutes were intriguing and creepy and then it completely fell apart
[Spoilers] So, the villain of the movie is a satan.png file that appears on screen with a fade out effect from powerpoint a few times. Seriously, after the third time the dark satan.png image appeared on screen I was already annoyed thinking "they will just keep doing this all the time? A dark silhouette of a demon, a satan PNG?".
Just watched it, loved it. The long shots, and the length some scenes held made it eerie and creepy.
I genuinely liked the movie, I have grown out of the same jumpscare movie genre and now into the ambient, completely uncomfortable, creepy analog style horror. I prefer a 'everyone looks wrong, like they don't look normal and something is going on' rather to a 'omg a ghost tossed a ball across the room'. I think a VERY unappreciated movie that heavily depicts this is Resident Evil welcome to racoon city. Especially the beginning aspect as to when everything just started turning bad.
This is real horror. Horror is NOT just what is going to jumpscare you, but what makes you anxious, on the edge of your seat and constantly feeling uneasy. I won't say this is a perfect movie by any means, though it is definitely a lot better and more complex than what a lot of people give credit for... I assume likely most people who dislike the movie are probably those who think all horror movies are supposed to be scary, or are too confused by the plot (or unable to be imaginative and realize there isn't supposed to be a sensible storyline...). It is quite literally an uncomfortable situation unfolding without any way for you to control it. That is what I love so much about the movie.
Saying something is bad because it’s a slow burn completely irks me lol it’s called a story. ADD generation
I really like slow burn movies but this was just really poorly written, there’s no payoff, there’s no real explanation or overall motive for the killings.
